Alice, annoyed by curiosity, she picked up the screws with her left hand with the screwdriver. She stood back up, walking to the other booth. "If you don't mind me asking, what is that your working with?"

Moé took out and held up a blueprint showing a music box and clock in the shape of a highly decorated egg.

"It's a gift for someone special."

Alice's left hand took the blueprint. "Wind, aether, or steam driven?" She placed them onto the table. "Who is your parts dealer?" She began questioning.

"Wind," Moé said. "It's operated by a little music key."

She pointed to a key shaped like a minute hand of an ornate clock.

"I get my parts imported from my homeland. It's far away from here, " she said, "and my family members have to send me shipments. I have some parts with me, in this suitcase, if you'd want to try them out..."

Moé shrugged.
"I need to save up my money for one of those steam-vespas. Those vintage models cost a lot, so I'm selling bullets, custom-make guns and food."

"Motorbicycles easily eclipse those slow, costly machines." She used the screwdriver like a crowbar, lifting up the copper plating, placing the screwdriver down, she began to adjust various gears and cogs inside. She pulled out a single sprocket that had nearly all of it's teeth grinded away. "So this had been causing extensions to be choppy..." She said to herself.

Moé held out her hand.
"May I see that sprocket? I could have a more durable replacement..."

Alice threw it onto the table. Her left hand went down back into one of the pockets of the apron, pulling out a fat, small bottle, half filled with a deep blue elixir came to her hand, she drank the rest of the bottle, it tasted like half melted ice and slowly came out of the bottle. A small sigh came out of her mouth. The metallic right hand stayed on the table, the fingers clicking on the table.

Moé dug inside the suitcase, and presented two identical sprockets.

"One is steel and one is alloy. Which one do you want?"

"...Steel is an alloy." She said dryly, her left hand took the gear out of her left. She began to insert the gear into the arm. She replaced the metal plate, and the screws, the arm moved smoothly. "Thanks, what is your name? I don't think I got it."
Rufus opened the door to the cafe. Hot and in a slight haze. He came in, walking towards the booths on the far side in the room. "Alice, I see you 'ave meet the new recruit."
Alice looked up to Rufus. "I thought you were looking for a job." Her dirt brown eyes looking at his.
"We need both." Rufus replied. "Larga' tha crew, more likely we are goin' to get hired."

Moé twiddled her thumbs, mumbling sadly.
"...It's a different alloy..."
She smiled, trying to hide her previous frown, and held out her hand to shake.
"I-It's... Moé."

She jumped when she saw Rufus.
"Oh, really, it was a coincidence. I was just gettign somethign to drink, and then I saw that they had an inexpensive dessert item..."

The waitress finally finished preparing Moé's small take-out plastic bag of dry, school-vendor cookies.

There intruded a warm breeze from outside as Iden opened the door to the Copper Cog inn. Within resided many unfamiliar faces of workers looking much alike. Not being able to spot anyone particularly professional, he decided to ask the friendly looking waitress; "Excuse me ma'am. I'm looking for a certain crew looking who are apparently looking for workers. Perhaps you could point me in their general direction?"
"Well i'm not entirely sure if they're the ones you're looking for," she smiled politely as all decent waitresses did as she indicated to the two women involved in a conversation in a nearby booth, "But it seems that that lady there is going somewhere. Perhaps she would be of greater help?"
"Thank you very much," Iden replied as he nodded to the waitress and took his leave towards the duo.

Before approaching the two, another man had entered the inn and engaged himself in conversation with the two women. To his convenience, Iden had overheard the words "new recruit" and "job." Lightly tapping the man on the shoulder, he asked, making sure to be as presentable as possible. "Excuse me, sir. My name is Iden... Lockeharte," he lied, "and good friend of mine had overheard you discussing a job in the merchant district. Apparently you are looking for extra workers?"

Alice extended her left hand to shake Moe's right. "...Alice Pleasance Liddell."
Rufus softly jumped, he turned and saw the man speaking to him. "Oh, yea'. Nice to meet ya, Iden. Tha' name's Rufus, Rufus Mortima', captain of tha' Freeglory." He took another drag off of the pipe. "We need someone who is in need of our services, it out even betta' if ya know someone who might."

Iden thought for a bit before speaking once more. They were in search for a job and he may have had one. It was about high time that he acted on a small piece of information the children had gathered a few months ago.

"I may have what you're looking for," he grinned, "Have you heard of the manufacturing company; Steel Core industries?"

"Yea, got one of 'eir engines on my ship. Why, 'ey got some problems?" Rufus said, he brushed the black hair that was slightly beyond his brow, irradiating his right eye.

"I've been investigating their consequintial involvement in the downfall of Wheelbrook Estate and Co." Iden told him, "Along with the untimely deaths of their family members. Once you help me uncover the truth behind these incidents, i promise you, you shall be paid handsomely." He reached into his bag to retrieve an very ornate key on which was engraved; "Alden Central Bank."
"Until then," he continued as he flashed the key to Rufus, "I will gladly fuel this search with my own funds."
