Faolan made a soft noise in his throat, nuzzling his wife's hair. "Alright. I was thinkin' of Samhain for our boy--" He pronounced it "sow-een," giving a grin. "--and maybe Beltain for our daughter. You know the holidays, yeah?"

Ellandra squeaked, totally surprised. "I looked them up yes - and...... those we the names I'd thought about, too!" How strange was this? Goodness!

Faolan laughed out loud, deep and throaty--real laughter that had been needed in the past few tense days. He looked down at his wife, grinning in a mad sort of way. "You know, it ain't uncommon for soulmates to have similar thoughts and feelin's about stuff. It ain't really traditional for Farstep to give middle names, but we can do that for our bairns if'n you want." He honestly sort of hoped she didn't ask if he had a middle name.

Ellandra blinked, then finally managed to laugh a little too. "Well.... I don't have a middle name, myself, but. . . well, do you think it would be fitting if th twins had them?" She asked uncertainly, not sure of what would be the best thing to do in this situation. Middle names or no middle names, that lline of thought was less important to Ellandra than safely seeing the little ones into the world. . . as much as she could. She was thankful the little girl was mostly untouched, though it broke her heart about their son. . .

Faolan shrugged. "It's up to you, lass."
Zia gave a snort of laughter. "It wouldn't be wrong if they did. Faolan has a middle name, after all."
"Yes, thank you, Zia. That's exactly the information I love having spread around," Faolan sighed, ears lowering and blush starting to spread across his cheeks.

Ellandra giggled and kissed Faolan on the cheek gently. "You don't have to tell me what it is if it's that embarrassing, Faolan. Though .. . . I don't know. We could always look for middle names, and if we see any that would be nice we could use them, and.... if we don't, we don't."It was much nicer to talk about things like this than to deal with the sobering knowledge Ziazan had imparted a few minutes ago.
. . . . And why was such a strogn odor of lavender drifting out of the vardo? IT was thick enough that she could practically taste it!

Faolan looked down, blushing even more. "My middle name's Tully," he all but whispered. Well, she'd find out eventually, so best just to tell her up front. He looked up and then over his shoulder, sniffing at the air like a dog with a scent. "Why's it smell like lavender?"

Ellandra smiled softly and kissed Faolan on the cheek. "That's not that terribl of a name, Faolan," she said softly, and then shrugged. "I honestly dont' know, but i noticed it too. What on earth is causing it?" She paused for a moment, then glanced at her husband and at Ziazan. "I think we should go see what's going on."

Faolan nodded, patting Elle's bottom to get her up. Once she was out of his lap, he twisted about, getting to his feet at the same time, and went into the vardo to find out what Rhian was up to--for it could only be her making the wagon smell headily of lavender.

Ellandra squeaked - you'd think she'd be used to those "cues" by now, but nope, not at all, and followed Faolan into the vardo, gagging slightly from the overpowering nature of the scent - and spotting Rhian literally driipping with some kind of oil that was clearly the source of the smell, while she tried to figure out how to light the lavender incense sticks.
"Slick-slick smelly stuff, slime and sticks and it all smells so nice!" The butterfly sang to herself, slightly offkey and completely oblivious to her audience.

Faolan hurried over and scooped the little proto up to keep her from lighting the incense, not a smart idea covered in oil. He held Rhian out to Ellandra with a look that clearly said "wash her" and frowned.
Zia came in behind the couple and sighed. "Rhian, you were only suppose to use one drop."

Ellandra took the oil-covered butterfly with a bit of a grimace - my goodness she smelled strongly! - and sighed. "Rhian, flutterby. . . you don't touch the incense sticks any more, oaky? Not without someone around to help you at least." How in the world was she supposed to clean the little proto up when she was like this, anyway?
Rhian's antennae and wings drooped as she looked over at Ziazan. "I tried, but I accidentally spilled half the bottle and then it smelled so good that I just had to make it keep smelling better!"

Faolan just wrinkled his nose, wondering how they were going to air out the vardo. "Guess we'll be sleeping with the door and windows open tonight."
"You shouldn't mix the incense and oil, though, sister. You could burn yourself," Zia said, giving her a worried look. "Also, you used too much and you kinda . . . stink."

Ellandra coughed. "I suppose. . . if I don't suffocate first. . ." Really, flutterby, how could you have been so silly, hmm? Such a child in some ways. Well, at least no harm had come to her - if she had gotten hurt, Ellandra doubted she could handle it. One of her babies was already in.... in less-than-perfect health, she didn't think se could handle her butterfly-child getting hurt, too.
Rhian tilted her head. "Burn? What's a burn? And. . . . but this is good smelly stuff! How can I stink?" Her antennae flicked, curious and not understanding exactly what her sibling meant, but feeling silly and dumb for . . . whatever reason, regardless.

Faolan kept frowning, annoyed and slighty angry at the situation. Clearly there needed to be another discussion about boundaries and rules in their household again. He looked at the place on the floor where the oil had stained a dark circle. Great, as if things weren't going to be costing enough to fix up, now he'd have to replace the hardwood floor in the front of the vardo. Looking at Rhian, he frowned even more. "I think after this, you can do without cotton candy for a couple of weeks."
Ziazan kept its distance, the lavender scent almost overpowering as it came off the little proto. "A burn is when you get hurt by fire. As for the smell . . . well, too much of a good thing is bad. Or in your case, stinky." It noticed Fao's frown, even before the man spoke, and put a hand on its owner's back gently. Money troubles now? Way to go, Rhian, put a kink in all the careful financial plans the guy had made. Looking at its sister, it frowned at her as well, then glanced back up at Fao. "I'll help you clean up the mess while Mama washes the oil off Rhian."
