Kat glanced at the time on her cell as she jogged back inside. "Man..first period starts soon..." she said with a small sigh. Even though Adrian would probably 'sit in' on her first two or three periods - she'd be much too distracted to actually talk to him.

Meanwhile, Derek was strolling into the school, book bag slung over his back, and whistling a sharp, annoying tune. He went straight past the office towards the cafeteria. With one smooth shove, he opened the cafeteria door and peered inside. "Nope....not a science room," he stated in monotone. He stepped back and let the door fall shut, shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his tattered jeans. He stared down the hall with a bored look on his face - not even half-heartedly trying to find the chemistry room. School. Blah. He hated it. After standing still for just a bit too long, he shuffled off down the hall, this time going into the gym.

Adrian frowned slightly. "I wish class never started." He muttered. "Then we could sit and talk.. for hours! Maybe even forever.." He started, blushing. "Well, maybe not forever.. But as long as you'd like, maybe?"

Thali caught a glance of someone with torn jeans. She stared a moment, before her husband hit her in the back of the head. "Ow!" She complained. "What was that for?"

"We're here to teach." Ben pointed out. "Not so you can look at every boy that walks by."

"But Beeeeeen." Thali whined. "There was something different about him. I can just tell." The elf frowned slightly. She didn't know what was different about the boy, but she was determined to find out.

Adrian frowned slightly, he'd never been called 'Gramps' before. It was true that he was older than pretty much--anyone who worked at the school, with two exceptions. He looked twenty, though..

"The chemistry lab? Sure." Adrian said, looking to Kat. "I'll be back." He promised. He walked over to Derek. "What's your name?" He asked. "I'm the history teacher. Not for your grade though--that's my sister's job." Adrian was silently thankful that he wouldn't have to deal with this boy much.

Thali's call phone rang, Digital Love started to play. She gave an embarassed look towards her friends, and texted Kat back. 'He has a nice vibe--he feels somewhat familar.' She pressed send. "What?" She asked, looking at Ben.

"You're setting a bad example. Cell phones aren't allowed." He held out his hand to recieve the phone. Thali stuck it in her pocket and glared.

"Don't tell me what to do, Ben." She said flatly.

Adrian sighed. "Room 305." He said. "Go straight, turn left." He said, and left the boy to his devices.

Kat sighed as she read the text message. "But he has a weird feeling to him...." she mumbled. Of course, she hadn't even gotten close enough to get a good feel for his intentions. He'd just seemed to be trying a bit too hard not to acknowledge her.

"Straight...then left. K." Derek shuffled slowly down the hall, with no intention of actually arriving to his class on time. He saw a girl trip and fall flat on her butt further down the hall, but hardly gave her a second glance.

'I hope you're right' Kat texted back to Thal, then snapped her phone shut. She heard the gym door close and went to the door of her office, peering around the door apprehensively. She half expected to see the strange boy back, but let out a small sigh of relief when she saw Adrian.

Derek actually groaned a bit as he turned to face Thali. Then his expression changed from one of irritation to shock, then pure amusement. He had to choke back a chuckle as he spoke. "You? You're a teacher?" She was easily half a foot shorter than he was. He took a deep breath, trying not to laugh, then answered her question. "Nah...nah, I'm not lost. That girly guy gave me directions to my chem class. Said it was like three oh - ... three oh ... five? I think."

"He seemed to ignore me when I looked at him. But before that I could have sworn-" Kat shook her head slightly. "Never mind." She considered his question for a minute. "I'm not sure we'll have time for much. My only free period today is fifth."

"Mythology?" Derek couldn't hold back a snort. "They actually teach that here?" When she asked about Adrian he just shrugged. "I didn't ask his name." At her comment about being late, he simply rolled his eyes. Like he cared about tardiness and strict teachers. Strict teachers were fun to argue with.
