It was now seven years ago.... in a raging snowstorm inside Learania. The cold ice and snow knew no mercy... much like the superiors that the young Archanean recruit had back home. Cold, thoughtless, ruthless, uncaring. The snow and the soldiers... the same.

They had no qualms with Leon being out here alone... helpless, lost. They both never saw him as a person, but just a 'thing' affected by them. To his country and the blizzard, the brown-haired boy whom left the army didn't exist. It was true enough, as even when the seventeen year old fell form his steed, no one answered, no one cared. He was alone. Alone...

The last he heard was the cries of his steed. When he awoke, he thought he'd found the Other side... but instead, he found a huge, hulking giant that spoke what sounded to him like another language. He didn't know who he was, but at the time, this man was his savior. His hero. But as the dream went on, the nightmare of a flashback... the savior disappeared. Leon was allowing himself to be frozen from the inside out... resting but tormented and truly alone. That savior was false... he was just another General... another so-called 'leader' that did his best for the winning side, no matter whom they were.

They were lies... lies he told me. Lies.... to get me to trust him... trust them! Lies.... if this was how he was... if he believed only the strong and the rich and the powerful should live... why did... why did he save me?

To the rest of the world outside, Leon looked like a frozen, living statue laying against his horse, looking less alive than Anri despite being covered in less armor. The Lieutenant didn't feel like he was the only one alone. He felt they were all alone, and that this was the end. Why open his eyes again? Everything he ever lived for... was a lie.

Blossom had to wonder if Vika was really all right. Something seemed truly wrong, with with those skittish motions, but... Blossom tried to pay attention to what she said. "Yes, Blossom. That's right. And... uh... I'm not sure... a bunch of morphs attacked us, I had to run off before I could find out more... I kind of got hit by a poisoned arrow, just lucky Lady Victoria had a Restore staff with her..." Blossom laughed sheepishly and rubbed a hand at the back of her neck.

He couldn't take it anymore. "Alright, I'm leaving now," Valter announced, not really caring if anyone heard. Letting Kain get some well deserved rest, he quietly moved away from the group, searching for any signs of prey.

Sue led the way with Valter, assuming that Nils and FD had their own way of hunting, being dragons. If she'd pass on just a little of her hunting knowledge, her friends could stay alive. Besides, they were the green-haired youth's tribesman. She had to look after them if she were to be a chief, a crewmember one day. No matter what, she'd protect them all... and help them.

"There should be game this way." she whispered. She made sure to stay close to Valter and the two dragon's listening to their respective footsteps. The nomad knew a yell meant trouble, and so far, there were none.

A lone figure made his way to the mountains, the purple cloak, stained with the crimson red of blood, his own mixed with that of his enemies blood. He Finally saw the group as he smiled, moving closer, in a slow yet pained manner, favoring his right leg. In one hand he carried a Tome, In the other, he carried a small letter, which he had obviously worked hard to protect from the red dye that flowed on him.

Valter nodded to Sue, showing her that he understood. he followed her closely, keeping his eyes peeled for any moving object. He had learned the hard way not to look for the prey itself, but to watch for unusual shapes and movements. Animals instinctively used this tactic too, however, so he made sure to make only slow movements as he followed Sue ever so carefully.

He now walked in amongst the others, looking for a healer. And he found one, healing a young girl. "Excuse me Miss, But might I ask...for healing," He said as he tried to manage a smile setting the Letter down nearby. "Please, forgive that I come someowhat late, but I can help you heal the others afterward." He looked around once more and prayed that Nino and the others were safe.

Victoria noticed Canas enter the area. Finally, another staff user! If she fixed him up, she could sleep finally. D:<

"H-hold still..." The bishop's weary words came as she once again forced the healing magic of her Recover staff out of the gem, letting it soothe Canas as much as her depleted magical reservoirs would let her. Shortly after, she kneeled. "Ah... Arashe... I can't... do this anymore. I must rest..."

Canas nodded at the girl his thanks then after wiping his hands bent down, picking up the letter once again and opened it. Now let us see what this is about. He began to read silently. As his eyes turned from thoughtfulness, to a darker tone. The second half began:

"I do love you - That was never the question.Though often I found other ways to show it. Provocation. Sometimes even insults.

Now I read a few of the letters you had sent me that i could not bear to open at an earlier dat, so that I can feel like I am doing something. So that I may be closer to you. We, your family, have agreed that I, Your wife should write this letter to you, so that you do not search for something that cannot be found.

I am Dying Canas, My love. What more we could have been is no longer what occupies my thoughts. What we were to each other begins to solidify, Fixed.

There is no hope of softening back into life. No hope of reversal, as one by one the holy fires of heart lung and mind begin to burn down, until silence, my mind filled with becalming thoughts.

I remember when you first met my family, brothers and uncles and my father pouring the wine, I between you and him. The dancers that competed, always trying to outdo eachother, as the october sun shone down from high in the air.

Now, our son joins hands wit hthe old one, your mother, who despite her best efforts has crumpled once or twice - in this moment that, like a raindrop caught on a bush, cant be pricked by the thorn it hangs on, withholding for the breath of a prayer, some gleaming rounded fullness from the thirsty ground.

Oh how I wish you were here! Our sun is so handsome, dressed in his velvet robes wit hthe black cloak! He looks so much Like you, and says, 'Dad would have liked this.'

Was it just this morning when I touched your hand goodbye, persuaded by the Icy harshness of that storm? I cannot shake the sense of having abandoned you, handing myself over to death. But I know that there is no avoiding it.

Such are the thoughts that prevade my mind. I miss you. But in this final hour, I smile. I know you. You are off helping someone, or studying, trying to reach for the other side.Continue your efforts, dearest. And do not let these words prevent you from doing what you must.

Your beloved Wife,
Sheila"

By this time, the quiet tears roled down his face. He had been unaware that he read that second hafl aloud, too wrapped up in his emotional grief. He stared into the distance, trying to wrap his head around the fact that Sheila was dead. THis he knew. And it pained him.

Oh gods the pain. Why her? I should have died with her. Why only her? Why did I go through the portal, and not her?

He shook his head and hid it all. He had work to do. He hid under a smiling face and sof voice, setting about to heal the wounded, letter clutched tightly in his hand.

((Tristai is pretty much Victoria's shadow... ;P ))

"Victoria! Will you ever learn to pace yourself? Stop trying to do so much at once, just let them drink vulneraries or something..." Tristai finished situating her horse, although the poor thing was more than ready to bolt. She uncapped her waterskin, kneeling down on one knee and holding it out to Victoria.

(( Sorry, I"m gonna just jump in at a random part in the forest X_x ))

Whatever the hell those things was..whatever the hell they ARE. Ephraim didn't want to deal with them anymore then he already had....rusted spear wasn't his way to go either but it was the only thing he nabbed to defend himself....just before it broke into two. He still didn't know how he ended up here in the first place, or where those things came from or the fact on where everbody was. What did worry him was that almost nobody from FEF was in sight and that was starting to scare him a little. That riot in Eryis? Yea, wasn't looking pretty either. All this started straight after he had left Alihi and Amara when the were hungry

Somehow he managed to get out of all that chaos and landed here, only to be attacked by these...'humans'...or so he'd like to think. Ephraim actually never seen anything like these and couldn't make out what they were. The only thing that was on his mind right now, was run whatever they were, they were huge in number.

There was a sudden rustle from behind and Ephraim spun, looking at his surroundings before he retreated to the top of a tree.

(( Deeeerrrrrp.......I still feel this is a little off but meh X_x ))
