Oh, crap.

Rhys raced back upstairs, leaving the suddenly strangely silent Fefga behind.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap.

He'd felt the barrier lift--just like that! Poof! Gone!

It was no use... he'd seen nothing down there suggesting any more passage. Unlike Soren, he wasn't sneaky in any sense of the word... come on, everything about Rhys was brightly-colored and just stood out. Sadly, there was just no option left to him.

He didn't meet Soren on the way back up... well, at least SOMEONE was safe.

He closed the passage door and promptly ran down the stairs...

Oh. Mika and... who are they?

He was, of course, plainly visible. Anybody could look in through a window. He wasn't sure who the others were, but... oh, well. Maybe they'd take prisoners? He raised his hands as a sign of surrender.

Castello walked Amelia out of the thicket, his arm around behind her shoulders as they approached the others. "Come on, Kyros. Since when do you ask a bunch of questions instead of lazing around? That's my bit. You trying to steal my bit? My thunder? My modus operandi?" He grinned and shoved Amelia into the circle. "Place looks more comfy than the castle anyway. You know I hate big stone walls all over the place. This looks like a cozy base. A base with class."

And for some reason, he also felt compelled to give Mika a hand. Like getting Amelia. He wouldn't normally have done that. Why did he do it now?

He shook the thoughts away, because they were making his head ache. "Come on, let's just take the place. Probably got a nice kitchen," he added. "Some guy named Loki wants us to help her out. If he's asking, we probably owe him something, huh?"

Amelia could feel her hands shake a little as Castello made her walk forward, out of the bushes and into the open, towards his friends. She gripped her spear tighter, taking in a silent breath to steady herself. Be brave. Calm down. They wouldn't hurt you... they won't hurt you... She stumbled a few steps at Castello's shove, but kept her balance. She stood up straight once he had let her go.

Amelia tried not to let the panic betray her, but mentioning Loki just made her eyes widen again. No you don't! You owe him nothing! Stop helping him! she wanted to yell, but she stayed silent. Her head shook slightly, back and forth, but she didn't speak.

FD made sure to lock their front door and then he and Nils were ready to go to the Manor. FD laxes his muscles as they walked. The energy he felt was electrifying, but FD wasn't positive about it. Nils had brought his golden flute, too, so FD was staying alert to transform at a moments notice if appropriate. The Manor was coming into their view.

Jyoti, along with Misura, who she picked up on the way, soon joined the rest of the heroes. She nodded apologetically to the group for her lateness, but she had to stop and pick up Misura! She couldn't just ride past her friend. It would have been rude! Her delay was completely understandable!

Her face curled up into a smile upon seeing the familiar face in the center of the hero circle, one that she had seen not too long ago. She ignored Amelia for now, though, having a feeling that the blonde general wouldn't try anything stupid.

If she does, however... Her hand rested against Antaram as a precaution. If she had to, then she would use it. Her eyes darted around, taking in her surroundings. The rest of the heroes (except Domanova) were there, as well as some girl who seemed rather familiar. There was a name as well: "Loki". Loki. Loki. Who was Loki? She shook her head slightly and turned to the building. The manor did look nice from the outside. There was a man staring through the window as well, hands raised in surrender--

Wait, what? Jyoti blinked, glancing through the window again; indeed, there was a man, standing inside the manor, hands raised. A small smirk came to her face. "Might not be that hard to take, Castello..." She pointed in the direction of Rhys with her thumb. "One's already surrendering. Of course..." Her pointer finger pointed down the hill, in the direction of the village. "I can almost guarantee that people are already on their way to try and stop us. So let's hurry, shall we?" She smiled sweetly to her fellow heroes and Mika, her fingers tapping against the back cover of Antaram.

Seeing some blonde girl point at him, Rhys took his cue and opened the door slowly, keeping his hands where the group at large could see them.

"I'm the only one in this manor at the moment," he said, "So if you're here to take the manor, I... am no match for all of you."

The rest of him stepped around the door, hands in front of him. If he was concerned that Amelia was in their midst, he didn't show it. If anything, Amelia meant that anyone they captured was safe... For now.

Fefga looked to the ground, sensing the return of Mika and her heroes. The breaking of the barrier tore a part of her away. It was her power, and it was just suddenly gone. But Fefga recognized this power... she recognized it all too well.

Sensing that Neros and Rhys had left her chambers, she looked up, her eyes glowing white. "You shouldn't mess with power you can't control... Mika-chan" With that, Fefga raised her arms and the room began to shake, almost as if it were trembling at the spirit. Fefga let out a short cry and the walls all around the mansion began to shimmer. All darkness sizzled upon them. But the magic Mika was given was strong, and the effects of Fefga's retaliation were dulled.

"Don't underestimate this place... I can't... I.. I won't screw up again!!" At that moment, Fefga lifted her head straight up, and cried out. Lights emanated from her eyes and mouth, and a powerful spiritual pressure arose from the manor, and the shimmering walls got brighter, in an attempt to keep up the barrier and battle Mika's new power. This was a battle between two ancient magics.

Passing through the forest, Isadora could see FEFGA's manor. Just few more hundred yards away. Isadora thought as she focused her eyes toward her destination.

Whatever had happened at FEFGA's mansion, surely someone should had sent the message to Nino or the crew. Yet, why hadn't there any news? It was unsure how the druid managed to destroy the library. After all, no intruders would be able to pass the barrier. The only way she would find out was to get there.

As she was moving closer to the manor, she spotted something in the view. Isadora pulled her rein to stop her horse. She then urged her horse to move quietly to get a closer look. Making sure that she was not in view, Isadora observed. About few hundred feet away, she saw unfamiliar figures standing around. She never see those people before. To what business do they have?

Then Isadora noticed a pinkish-red armor in her vision. Moving her horse in two steps, she noticed that it was Amelia. She widened her eyes in shock.

This can't be good. Isadora thought. She then saw a door opened and Rhys came out with his hands up in the air. A heavy feeling sank in her stomach. It was a sign of surrender. But to what was Rhys surrendered? And to who?

Isadora look at the group to see who was the leader. The big, red-haired Warrior looked like the type to be the leader. However, Rhys wasn't facing at him. Looking in the direction of who Rhys was talking, another surprise came across her face.

What? It can't be..... She thought in horror. She found out that the leader was none other than Mika. The girl whose sister imprisoned her during Halloween and had helped them recaptured their place back. It didn't make sense. The paladin didn't understand. Why would Mika, who had been nice and helpful to the members, decided to turn her back against them?

Unsure what the situation was, Isadora unsheathed her sword and waited. She didn't want them to know she was there. Not to mention, these strangers looked powerful to be taken down by three members. The paladin had to bid her time till the time was right.... But was St. Elimine smile upon her and her members to gain victory?

Suddenly, a flash of light appeared from FEFGA's mansion. She also felt the ground was shaking too. What in St. Elimine's name is happening? The paladin thought.

Castello nodded. "Jyoti's got the right idea, let's get secured in there before people start coming to look for us. Hopefully we've kept things quiet, but I bet you those punks are gonna follow us up here. Followed us into the damn restaurant, too." He scratched his head, then started toward the mansion only to leap back as the walls around the hole Mika had created began to shimmer.

"... Awww, damnit. I really hope people don't get the wrong idea from the whole... taking hostages thing." He sighed.

All that possessed him was instinct.

The impulse surged through every fiber of his being, every vein and muscle, every cell of bone marrow, every nerve, driving him to flee as swiftly as the flicker of a shadow when he heard the barrier break. He felt that danger was hot on his heels. The presences had become overwhelming when the barrier fell, sending his mind in a flurry of confusion, and Rhys's own need to run only spurred him to safety.

Neros darted back down the way he came. He ignored the books that had been charred by elder magick, ignored the toppled bookshelves, and hurried down the corridors back to the open hatch. He had time, they were still all outside, he had time to settle in and conceal himself again.

There was no emotion to it. Mild panic and urgency were part of his instinct, his reflex to hide himself from blatant danger. He didn't think about Rhys or the spirit or the severed head in his hands. He wasn't even really thinking. He just let his feet take him to where he needed to flee, his wings tightly drawn so they would not impede.

As he ran, the walls shimmered. That was when conscious thought began to click in. The lifeless walls suddenly seemed to hold sentience of their own, as if memories of an ancient history had suddenly sparked to life, and with memory there always came a sort of power. He could sense the thrum of Fefga's protective influence resonating from the structure of the mansion. It was not a source found within the physical being, but a source that was born beyond the planes perceivable to the human mind. For an instant he thought of The Door.

He picked up the pace, his heart thudding in his ribcage, blood rushing as he drew closer to the open hatch. The images before him were a reflection of his own warped mind, the transient nature of chaos bound to the regulations of spiritual existence made conceivable by the aesthetic. Somehow he still felt threatened, for Fefga's power was strangely frightening to behold...

Neros skidded to a stop beneath the open hatch. It was time to return to obscurity. Carefully manipulating his wings in the correct manner to achieve lift, he launched upward and used his wings for thrust, tossing the severed head into the attic and following it inside. He clung to the edge of the opening, flapping his wings before realizing it was only blocking his way in, then tucking them to his body and vaulting himself over. He rolled along the attic floor, evened his balance, and threw the hatch shut.

Then all was dark, all was quiet, and he was alone in an attic that smelled of numerous carcasses and bodily fluids. That was the smell of home, an aroma that made him slump against some nearby crate, cradling the severed head to himself.

Amelia looked over to Jyoti, then Castello. She didn't know what to do; if she ran, someone would just tackle her right down. Castello's threat to take her life if she moved seemed very, very real; she had to suppress an instinctive shiver. Her gaze went back to the front door, and her eyes widened a little more. What are you doing? You... Amelia gripped her spear a little tighter and watched Rhys give himself over, his voice level. As Amelia would realize later, he was definitely taking the situation better than her; knowledge of Loki's influence and the looming threat of, well, death had her rattled. Rhys was taking things much better, clearly not about to do something rash that would endanger someone, whether that be himself, her, or someone else. He was being smart, and Amelia respected that.

Then there was the rumbling centered at the manor, and Amelia snapped her gaze up as the faintly shimmering wall of spiritual energy strengthened. "Fefga...?" she whispered. Amelia felt her hope increase a little; if the group was unable to get into the manor, then they could do little to further their plans. But if Loki himself appears... would he?

Amelia, for now, could do nothing. She simply stood before the manor and prayed that Fefga's might could overcome Mika's.

As FD and Nils had the Manor come into view, they were taken aback as it radiated with light. Sure the Manor was the scene of plenty of supernatural events, but for the entire house to be glowing light? It was either the best after party ever or something the sight of something that was probably bad. FD was leaning towards the latter, unforetunately - FEFGA surely would have lit the home up for the Host Club Parties if it was meant to be harmless. Something big was going on, mansions don't glow for no reason.

Melethia was behind a tree near FEFGA's house. Her instints told her to come here. She wasn't sure what to do. She could try to stop the problem, but it would be bad for her. She could just stay out here, but who knows what's going on. Melethia was gripping her tome in frustration.

As the sound of Mika's command, Shento instantly put his hand on his bow, to pull it from his back. However, Castello beat him to the action of subduing her, and by a much less violent way. Shento would have just shot her. He had no reason to, but his body just moved upon the utterance of command from Mika's lips. It was something he did not understand, but had no time to fight it. Noblesse Oblige had called. In any case, that was taken care of. The barrier was down. And now, it was time to-

In mid processing of the situation, Shento suddenly noticed the barrier reappear, and emanate with a strong power. It seemed familiar and yet surprising at the same time. In any case, there was something powerful in that mansion, and Mika had to defeat it before they could enter. That meant-

Shento's thoughts were interrupted again, by the presence of somebody nearby. It wasn't hard for him to tell when others were near him. In fact, when somebody actually tried to hide from him, it made it even easier. People always make mistakes; the leaves, twigs, shadows, the actions of nearby animals, they all could give a person away instantly.

Still under the command to take the mansion and subdue threats, Shento reacted to the new presence by swiftly drawing his bow, and aiming it at the designated tree.

"...Ten percent... output."
At those words, the bow conducted in a breif instant and released a magical arrow that raced through the tree and out the other side and into the one behind it, grazing the person hiding. Shento paused, waiting to see what his chosen opponent would do.
