Vlad used a hand to tip his hat to the fellow Lycan in greeting. He looked confused at her question. "Pack? Oh! You must've been born with Lycans." He remarked. "I'm not in a pack. Never was, never will be. A Lycan changed me one night when I tried to help him.... Or her. I couldn't tell." He shrugged. He then bit his lip, sustaining to respond to either of the howls. The horse whinnied and reared back only slightly at the howl. He held on and calmed the horse down by leaning forward and whispering in it's ear. It shuffled slightly before starting to ride slowly again. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aura. My name is Vlad. Vlad Brarn. I'm a travelling doctor." He instantly grew fond of her. He loved animals. Even human-animal hybrids. "Are you all heading for the town? I've got some work to do there, and it wouldn't be too bad to check on the commotion." The mice were now calm. They crawled out of his pockets and crawled around. Three went onto his hat and watched them while curling up on the brim. Rufus stayed on Vlad's shoulder. The one remaining crawled to the horse's head and looked at Aura while they all squeaked a bit. "Say hello to the family. They're coming out now, knowing that Quacks or whoever won't eat them.

Quaxo growled, "It's 'Quaxo,' qu-ah-ck-so, you best remember it-" Nero cut him off, "Oh shut up, you stupid thing."

Silvanus grinned back at Vlad as he waved down at her, and then shifted her eyes to the mice. Her grin turned into a very childish, though friendly smile. "Ooh, hell--" The wood elf grimaced and covered her ears with her hands, the howl had sent shivers up her spine and made her skin prickle with goosebumps. "A wolf?" The elf turned her head toward town and frowned greatly, her eyes seeming more sympathetic than anything else. "Yes, we are heading to town," Silvanus answered, seeming somewhat distant, still looking in the direction of town. "I suggest we hurry? That sound was a little frightening.." She smiled slightly as the mice began to come out, and then put her hands on the horse's neck as she walked along side him. With a small jump, the wood elf shape shifted into the likeness of a small, tan vole and began scurrying up the horse and onto Vlad's shoulder where Rufus was perched. "Hello there," She piped in a tiny voice, sniffing the other mouse's nose in some form of greeting.
Ecksis snarled viciously and withdrew her arms after the man had savagely hacked into her arm. Holding it close, she gnashed her teeth and growled. By now there were more people gathering around--not just soldiers, but many of the curious civilians as well. Her golden eyes widened slightly, this could be her chance to snatch a human. Extending her good arm out of the cage, she grabs Theran by the torso and pulls him against the bars of the cage. Although squeezing him rather tight, she makes no attempt to impale him with either claw or tooth yet. The civilians and soldiers back off a little, too shocked and terrified to react. But then again, what can they do without attacking one of their own? The beast seems to give a canine grin as they draw away from the cage as if it was something foul. Perhaps this was the wolf's plan, knowing humans were likely not to attack one of their own.

Aura laughed slightly, "Well Quaxo, gives you something to do doesn't it?" She watched closely as Silvanus jumped up and shifted into a small mammal, then landed on Vlad's shoulder. I'll have to write about her later... Reaching down, she adjusted her belts tighter and pulled out the staff, using it to vault up into the above tree, notching it against two branches, and leaping to the next. ~~~ Theran didn't have time to make noise when the large beast grabbed him and pulled his back against the cage. At this point he didn't know whether to be scared, or play along. They had no right to cause this poor creature pain... "Let it go!" He yelled frantically, "It's going to kill me!" He struggled a bit and looked back at the creature, he was hoping it was bluffing and didn't really want to harm him.

"Hmmm, It feels like someone is going to die soon," Quaxo said, with just a little bit of deranged wonder, "can we go watch?" Nero rolled his eyes.

~~I'ma be absent or rarely on for a while. Sorry. Summer Vacation nonsense.~~
Vlad snickered at the Night Elf. "I'll call you Quacks. Ducks are a bit stubborn like you are." He told him. He turned and smiled at the Wood Elf. "As are my friends and I." His smile brightened when she turned into a small animal. He absolutely loved animals. Rufus squeaked in fear and crawled under his jacket and into the sleeve. He gently shook the mouse out and plopped it onto his hand. "C'mon, go talk to her." He whispered. "What's to be so scared about? She's kinda cute, and that isn't scary. Go on now." The mouse slowly crawled back up his sleeve and sat in front of the vole. It sniffed her nose back before sitting there and watching it. Vlad heard a few screams from town. He whistled quietly, the horse responding and going faster.

Now Nero was becoming annoyed, mainly because he didn't want to be consider the same person as Quaxo. "Now listen here, at least call me Nero, you're welcome to call Quaxo whatever, just don't lump us together," Nero said, half jogging, half limping to keep up with the horse.

The small field mouse seemed to grin as Vlad convinced Rufus to talk to her. She crawled around on the man's shoulder and inspected the small mouse, sniffing at it and inspecting the other's tail. She squeaked another few times and began scurrying up to Vlad's had, looking back as if inviting the little mouse to follow her. Silvanus finally jumped into the brim of the man's hat and began to try and befriend the other mice that hid there.
Ecksis snarled savagely and bared her teeth, pressing Theran against the bars a little harder. One of the soldier's finally broke: "Alright, beast! Let him go!" He ran over to where the cage locked and began to fumble with the keys. Another demanded that he not open the gate, "It'll kill us all!" The first soldier hesitated and looked at the caged monster. "If I don't, he'll kill the fisherman!" The soldier looked up at Theran and complied with his words, forcing the key into the lock and throwing the gate open. Women screamed, men yelled in protest, and many of the civilians ran for cover the moment the wolf dropped her hostage and bolted out of the cage. But just when he'd think he was safe, Ecks snatched Theran by the hem of his trousers in her teeth and darted on front and hind paws out of the town and toward the safety of the forest.

Aura watched and listened closely while moving through the trees. She could see the very top spire of the Oenu palace, and it seemed the commotion had stopped. Hmmm... ~~~
Theran yelped in suprise when the beast snatched him back up. Now he was truley afraid. Struggling, he tried to wrench himself out of the wolf's teeth. "Let me go! I don't taste good!"

~~Well, I managed to get on so I can post... And watch the new episode of Unforgotten Realms. Sorry it's so short.~~
Vlad blinked as he watched the Night Elf. "There are... Two, of you?" He asked. He turned his attention to his foot. "You need any help? I am a doctor, after all." He listened to the shouts ahead. He tapped the horse, it speeding up a bit. Rufus slowly sniffed back. He was a bit shy. He followed the field mouse onto the hat, squeaking a bit to wake up the others. The all got up and slowly filed over to sniff the mouse, greeting her.

"Yes, there's two of us in this cramped, ink skinned shell," Quaxo's voice rang out, "Me, Quaxo, and the flesh, Nero." Nero rolled his eyes, "Oh, shut up Quaxo, all your good for is finding a meal." Quaxo scoffed, "I'd be good for a lot more if you'd let me take control once in a while." Nero scoffed, "and let you tear me up? No thank you. You'd probably get us hanged too."

Silvanus seemed to grin in excitement as the other mice awoke and lined up to greet her. She sniffed them all in turn and exchanged a few squeaks in salutations. Her baby pink ears picked up as she listened to Quaxo and Nero argue once again, then made a sound of confusion toward her new friends. She sat straight up on the brim of Vlad's hat, then bent over and peaked her head underneath in order to get a good look at the lycan. Her whiskers twitched as she sniffed the air around him, and then backed up a little to engage in more conversation with the other mice.
Ecksis snarled at Theran as he struggled and protested against his kidnapper, giving a good tug on his trousers as she darted across the gate and into the first few trees of the forest. Before now she'd been chased by soldiers and townspeople attempting to save their beloved fisherman. But once past the gate and into the depths of the forest, hope had seemed lost. "Don't go in there! It's suicide to go unarmed!" Said a voice from the mob to another oblivious towns person. Turning her ear back to hear this in full gallop, Ecks grinned and slowed once safely out of view of the smokey little village. Stepping into a clearing by the dirt path heading in the direction of town, the lycan finally put Theran down and let out a long sigh in relief, panting slightly from not only the exhaustion from running, but from carrying a fully grown human as well.

"Are we going to go to the village, or stand around chit-chatting?" Quaxo asked impatiently. "For once the disembodied voice has a point," Nero added.

Vlad was smiling as the horse trotted on. He turned to see the mouse as something moved in his periphial vision. He winked at her before turning his attention back to the road. The horse slowly picked up speed, smelling the same thing it's rider did. There was the Lycan not too far ahead, and it smelled like it was bleeding. He would try to help. It was his job, after all. He looked down to the Night Elf. "Don't you see the horse picking up speed?" He asked. He wasn't too fond of the being... Err... Beings.
