Well, F’sey was lighter than he thought. Clearly, someone hadn’t been eating all the meals he should have. C’ren wasn’t that much taller than his … roommate, but there was just no weight to the man. Mentally, he made a note to tell him to eat more in the future. And of course there would be a future! It wasn’t like Ialluth had betweened or anything. Of course there would be one… the look he gave Zara could almost be described as ‘helpless’, but, thankfully, it didn’t stay very long. Normally pride would have stopped him from accepting help, but this was important.

This was F’sey.

“Here. If you take his feet, it’ll be easier,” he offered, since she wanted to help oh-so-much. “Quickly, let’s get him away before others notice.” In particular, Parsley Girl. He really didn’t want her stuffing unknown plants up F’sey’s nose. C’ren seemed stable enough, except for one thing: he didn’t look down at F’sey, unless he absolutely had to.

Jessan was trying really hard not to mope. He really was trying. But some part of him could help but wonder if there was something wrong with him. His three close friends, one of this his cousin, had Impressed! And now, he had stood three times and three times walked away not being completed. Then there was the fact that so many were acting ill and getting sick. He would have to watch out for who his next room mate would be... Jessan did not want to get sick.

He had dashed back to the room and changed into regular clothes. Even though the hour was late, the Feast was just getting started. Which goes to prove that a good party could be thrown any time. Maybe, maybe he could ask his friends if he could help care for their dragons when not in lesson. The boy could hope. Trying not to let tears streak down, Jessan spotted his friends already in a tight circle with some others.

"Hey guys! What am I calling you know?" He raised a hand in greeting.

"Queep!" Kia declared, rearing up again to put her tiny forepaws on Reneneth's nose, stretching out her neck until her nose touched the big nose. Eyes whirling a rapid blue, the firelizard hummed and cheeped, her tail raised like a little banner. "Keeeer?" she asked, trying to determine how it was that the Queen had become so large! This queen was not as big as the big greens that she had met, but she was very big! Continuing to queep excitedly at the gold dragonet, Kia flared her wings in an attempt to keep her balance, fanning them whenever Reneneth exhaled a bit too hard. "Queep!"

The attention of both greens had turned to him now, and Uktenath had to consider how to answer them. Ianquith, Kadiath. You have done well by you and Yours; I am glad, he answered, angling his head a few degrees downward in a dignified nod. The timid green caught his eyes for a moment more - was she all right? She was acting a bit strangely, and it puzzled him. Perhaps O'asis would know... but ah, it wasn't important, and His was so happy! Watching her for an extended few seconds more, he broke his gaze away. Ailurath was there too now, and he wondered that he hadn't noticed her before then - he would need to be more alert.

At least he was unsurprised by Asceth and His. Uktenath met eyes with the brown, calm and poised as ever. O'asis is Mine. There was no reason to say more than that; ergo, he fell silent, turning his attention to the rest of the world.

Snapped back to reality by J'riar's jeers, O'asis went wide-eyed and blank for a moment - then, almost just as he had with Nandeli, he roared a laugh and grabbed Ianquith's Hers off his feet, going the extra step to catch up his legs and hold him princess-style in his arms.

"How's this for a proper greeting, then?" he asked with a goofy smile, then was struck by a surprised look anew. He staggered - no, it was fake, but the effect was no doubt startling to the poor sod in his arms. "Shards! You'd better get on a diet, or that poor little green'll never get you in the air!" he exclaimed, dumping J'riar back on his feet.

Then came over another boy - one of the new greenriders, O'asis thought, but was honestly unsure - and clapped him on the back. "I don't think we have," O'asis agreed, turning to offer a hand. "I'm O'asis, and mine is Uktenath. Who is yours?" It took him no time at all to get used to speaking in those terms, the same that Uktenath used; it only made sense to him, really.

"Dorin!" O'asis addressed the boy cheerfully, but there was a slight bit of annoyance clear in his posturing. "S'van won't bite you, and you don't need to try so hard to impress the rest of us, eh? Don't tell me you have to drink to have a good time, now!" He remembered full well how Dorinelic had been at the last Feast, and if his inhibitions were so bad to cause such a transformation... well, clearly, he just didn't spend enough time around the likes of this group!

He looked like he had something else to say, but something cut him off before he could begin. Mine. The cheer vanished from O'asis's face as he heard the note of stern warning in Uktenath's voice. Over there, someone has fallen down....

"... Someone fell?" he echoed, glancing briefly around. He'd figured the heat on the sands had been the problem before, but for someone to have collapsed here.... "'Scuse me a minute," O'asis said, a bit louder, and began weaving his way from the group. Uktenath, too, rose to follow His, pushing his way past people with little care if he caused them to trip or stumble.

No sooner had they broke free of the group, however, did O'asis meet the deathglare to top all; C'ren, giving him a look that suggested if he did not erase the memory from his mind that very second, he would be in for it. Uncomprehending, O'asis stared as he hurried F'sey from the Feast, his Uktenath pulling beside him.

Mine? This happens often? the bronze asked.

"... No," O'asis answered back, furrowing his brow. "No, it doesn't...."

With a nod, Zara quickly grabbed hold of F'sey's feet, trying to ignore the awkwardness of carrying around her Weyrlingmaster. Right now, he was a sick person. Sick people could be carried to the Infirmary. He was lighter than she'd thought he would be, but still, he was a grown man and she wasn't going to let C'ren try to haul him off by himself. The LAST thing the Weyr needed was a dropped Weyrlingmaster.

Ialluth's is ill? Fuxith queried worriedly, rising up onto his hind legs to peer across the Bowl. Do you need help, Mine?

I've got it. Glancing at C'ren, she said, "Well, let's not waste time. Who knows who'll fall over next, at this rate."

Absorbed in his own thoughts, Anont barely registered the Dragonet approaching until she was nearly upon him, sitting before him with bright eyes. Well, that was new. Quirking an eyebrow at the Dragonet, he was quiet a moment in observation. Then, pausing to glance around at everyone else- (Who's dragon was she again? Some girl he didn't know, sadly)- Anont crouched slightly to meet the Green at eye level, smiling softly.

"Hello there." He crooned softly, tentatively raising a hand and slowly placing it on her head. There was, he would admit, a certain level of fear in his action- it was the closest, sans the Hatching, he'd been to a dragonet. And now... well, here she was! At the feel of her hide under his fingers, he couldn't help but grin a bit wider. He'd been right about how absolutely adorable they were! Without realizing he was doing so, Anont began petting the Green with more confidence.

At her bonded's approach, however, embarrassment shot through Anont, and a slight flush spread through his cheeks. Standing as quickly and smoothly as possible, Anont offered the same smile to the girl that he did her dragon. She seemed kind enough, at any rate.

"It's nice to meet you." He spoke quietly, though not without confidence in his tone. Removing his hand from Lernaeth's head, he offered it out to the new Weyrling.

"I'm Anont." He amended, looking between Lernaeth and the girl with awe. "Congratulations on Impressing such a beautiful girl!"

While the humans were busy ‘awwwing’ over how cute the Queen dragonet was being, especially when she leaned way forward to examine tiny Kia more closely, Aeron was not amused. Not amused at all. All he saw was this great big giant nose coming towards his precious baby! Puffing himself up more, Aeron let out a mighty hiss, in the hopes of intimidating that mighty nose. But the nose just wouldn’t listen to reason!

The Bronze gave the golden muzzle one last warning hiss and flared his wings once more. Maybe if he looked big enough, it would go away? Certainly Kia would listen!

Or maybe not… if Aeron had been human, he would have facepalmed at that moment Kia put her forepaws on the dragonet. But, since he wasn’t, he merely tried to shove himself between the Gold and the tiny Green firelizard.

“Aeron! Stop that! You behave yourself right now!” Ok, see? That was the problem with being short. It took Mal far too long to push his way through any crowd. “Oh. Hey, S’van. I should’ve guessed it was Kia that got Aeron’s attention… Aer… be a good boy.” Mostly, he just tried to send mental images to Aeron of what would happen if he didn’t behave. Firelizard nuggets had a bad tone to it. And he wouldn’t be the only firelizard nugget either…

Aeron snapped his jaw shut and glared at Mal, but some of the threat stuck.

I am not going anywhere near all those girls! So I am in bed and I am waiting for mine to get back from talking to all the girls. I will give him a sandbath so he doesn’t get me dirty with all the things girls are dirty with. But, where are you, Galliath? For added effect, she made sure her bonded heard exactly what she had told Galliath, and as a result E’si visibly winced, lips curling down into a little frown as he thought of what would happen when he got back to his cot. In hopes of distracting himself from his fate, he focused his attention on the conversations going on at hand, rather willing to jump into anything at this rate if it would block out the subtle warnings his sweet, darling little green was sending him.

“Ah, yeah, I got to watch some of it.” But by the tone of his voice it was clear he had just gone for something to do rather than being invested in any ‘friends’ Impressing. At some point in the Hatching it had been more interesting to watch all the people get sick and collapse than it was to actually watch the dragonets stumbling around, trying to find their chosen bonded. His blue eyes flicked briefly to S’van’s friend, who he was sure didn’t care one bit for him, if only because E’si did agree with his choice of an easy lay. Ah well, there was only so much one person could do to get someone to like them. “Congrats, O’asis, he’s really handsome.” There, he was nice and polite. Maybe he should wait and see if jaws dropped.

But, he was quite sure he was the one making a funny look, taking a small step back as S’van went around hugging his friends. E’si knew about physical touch, shells, he knew more about it than a lot of teens his age. That also did not mean he knew much about this kind of touch, this heavy celebrating, friendly manner in which they embraced. It made him eye S’van as if he were an enormous and deformed trundlebug, with too much awe to show any disgust at the action.

He figured J’riar would be easier to talk to, and thus turned briefly to the new greenrider. Oh, Miith would definitely be grumpy with him tonight, but he couldn’t help it. “Congrats J’riar!” and there it was, true and genuine enthusiasm. “I’d say she’s the most adorable green I’ve ever seen, but I’m sure Miith would sit on me until my rib-cage collapsed from all her weight.” Again he had to turn his attention elsewhere, to the other new Weyrlings to congratulate. His attention remained brief on K’riwar, but enough to be proper and polite. “Hello K’riwar – congratulations on Impressing.” He’d already used the ‘most adorable green’ comment, so he thought it’d be bad to circulate that through again.

To Jessmet he remained brief as well, since he didn’t exactly know her. “And to you too – congrats.” This was… definitely going to get tiring. “And you… N’tos?” and he was just going to go on and on like this, he supposed, until he got through with them all, giving a brief nod to Nandeli, though he doubted she noticed.

He glanced over his shoulder, just in time… okay, he did not want to know why it looked as if someone was carting off a drunken rider to their weyr… Back to the conversation at hand!

Hanya was tired. The adrenaline had worn off, she didn't have a new dragon, and she wanted to go to sleep. But she couldn't do that, not yet. There were people to see and congratulate. Well, mostly one person. She glanced around briefly, seeking familiar faces, but mostly she just saw Nandeli and her Queen at the center of a growing crowd, and then a face she had pegged as familiar.

She hadn't much spoken to Nimwae, but the girls had spent time at the same crafthall together, and she was one of the few people Hanya recognized by name. Nimwae had Impressed a dragon, and Hanya was happier for her than she thought she'd be for anyone in this clutch, really. She was glad about that; resentment wasn't a pleasant feeling, and Hanya was getting tired of constantly experiencing it. It was beginning to occur to her that maybe the Hatchings weren't the same kind of competition as the rest of life. Dragons were an independent variable.

A huge yawn interrupted what she had initially been about to say, and Hanya put a hand over her mouth in embarrassment, glancing at Anont and giving him a shy smile before looking back to Nimwae. "Congratulations!" she said, looking down at Lernaeth and grinning. "She's beautiful."

Oh Faranth. The Weyrlings were looking over here! C’ren simply stared back before he got his glarebeams up and tried to tell them, through sheer powers of glare, to mind their own business. His heart wasn’t in it though. If F’sey was lucky, they’d assume he just couldn’t hold his liquor. Once Zara was holding up F’sey’s feet, C’ren very carefully started to hustle the man out of the Weyrbowl and to the Infirmary. At least he would have plenty of company from all the sick people. Between C’ren and Zara, at least F’sey had been carried to the Infirmary quickly.

Faranth. Please let him be alright… he thought to himself.

"I don't bite much anyway," S'van quipped with a grin. "Really, don't worry about it. You must've been half-blind from drinking if you thought I looked like a woman. You poor man." Wait, what? Someone had fallen? Again? What was going on around here? So many people had fallen ill, and just plain... fallen of late. Turning, the brownrider caught sight of a familiar pair. Oh. Oh dear. Weyrlingmaster F'sey. That was Weyrlingmaster F'sey on the ground over there! All joking abruptly tossed aside, the weyrling tensed with worry. After all, it was that very man who had given S'van his Kia.

Speaking of Kia, the tiny green flit was terribly confused now! Aeron was hissing and calling out shrill warnings. Was there danger? Bewildered, the baby tried to keep her balance as the bronze shoved between her and her new golden friend. "Krrrii krriii!" She fell onto her back, legs windmilling wildly as she attempted to sort herself out once more. A foot was tangled in a wing, and that hurt! "Krrriiikrriiikrrii!" Eyes whirling a yellowish hue in fear, the firelizard flopped helplessly on the ground.

"Oh dear, Mal... can you pick Aeron up, or is he likely to get caught too?" I am here, Miith! Galliath called, attempting to direct the green's attentions to the ledge where he watched the others from.

Ailurath was rather enchanted by Kia as well, although she had no intention of interrupting Reneneth. She was distracted by Aeron's posturing; couldn't he see the other little cousin was not being harmed? Her eyes began to whirl more quickly. Why didn't he like her and Reneneth? What was wrong? The little green crooned softly, at once worried and trying to convey apologies.

"What?" Jessmet asked as O'asis strode away across the Bowl. "Did someone else faint?" she asked the group at large. Jessmet had been vaguely aware of some candidates falling during the Hatching but she had assumed it was a reaction to the heat.

Notos couldn't help but feel at ease. "Congrats to you ..too..?" His sentenced ended on a lightly surprised note, stepping back from the surprise tackle from Nan. He looked on, bemusedly, not daring to interrupt in their conversation. He didn't mask his surprise though, as J'riar was lifted onto his feet.

He was certainly expressive, Notos had to say!

I see. Asceth nodded, accepting the sentenced almost worded like acommand from the bronze with no complaint. He understood the possession that one felt with their bonded, although he didn't express it in similar terms.

He turned to his rider instead, giving him another querying glance. Another has fallen. Do they need help? Notos looked over to where Asceth was talking about, his eyebrows crossing in a contemplative look. Why exactly, was this continuing to happen? Something that was more than a mere flu?

They're taking care of it. N'tos replied back to Asceth, trying to reassure the dragon. The dragon responded with a small croon, and nudged N'to's hand gently to settle the hand upon his forehead.

He was drawn out of his thoughts and his dragon, by the mention of his name. Two people actually. He waved to Jessan, beckoning him to join their group also. As for the other person.. He looked up to see someone that he didn't recognize. He was familiar in that Notos had seen him around the weyr, but he hadn't actually gotten to talking to him yet. Now was the opportunity then! "Thank you." He replied to E'si, with a grin. "May I ask your name?" He extended a hand, to greet the new acquaintance. It was clear that he was a rider, but Notos was interested in deepening his friendship with everyone, actually!

"...Sorry. It was still a bit...awkward. Even you must admit that." He face was beginning to fade back to more normal colors. "And, no, I don't drink typically. I have as you might have guessed...a low tolerance...though, it seemed like a good idea at the time." He paused realizing how he must have sounded. "Ah well...its over and done with. Hopefully, it will never happen again." As soon as he finished his words, he saw O'asis's face change. "Something-" Then, before he could get his words out, O'asis was off. "Well, I guess something must be wrong." The ex-smith shrugged. It was probably none of his business.

Nan's words did send him into a bit of confusion. "Um...still...You have a new role to play. Its only right I show you the proper respect you deserve. And...really...what do you mean by 'greens'?" He was smith, (or rather, he had been a smith). How was he supposed to know all of this wyer jargon? "Anyway though, who are all of your friends. I don't think I've meet any of them, but, I'm quite sure I've seen them before."

J'riar didn't seem to mind that K'riwar had moved on--though had to blink with surprise as the one who'd Impressed the little gold unexpectedly threw herself on him. So! He'd found himself a ladyfriend, hm? Trying not to snicker in the back of his throat, the man lazily stretched out and grinned widely at the sight of his cousin. At the same time, he felt his heart sink a little. Jessan would be all alone now, wouldn't he? "Jessan! Think I'll go with J'riar, what do you think?" But before he could reach out to clap the man on the shoulder... well, suddenly he was swooped in the air.

"Shards, careful now, you great oaf!" He was choking on laughter, letting out a mock shriek as the man stumbled and clutched at his neck. "Oh O'asis, don't let me fall! And was that a hint that I'm fat?" He caught himself with lazy grace as he was dropped, still chortling under his breath. That was, of course, until he heard what everyone was talking about. "The Weyrlingmaster?" He just barely managed to get out before he saw the man being carried off, and shook his head with concern.

E'si provided a good distraction, however, and he turned to the smaller with a slowly broadening grin. "Thank you! And ahhh, well, you can tell Miith she will... Well, shards, I was going to say she'd be my number one, but I'd be lying. Tell her I'll play with her anytime, hm?"

A nod and a grin at N'tos before the man would slowly turn back to his cousin. Shards, how he'd wished Jessan had Impressed! But... "There's a dragon out there with your name on it somewhere. These weren't, but Shard it, there is one for you." He said seriously, reaching out to grip the other's shoulder.

Hello, Asceth. I am Ianquith, and Mine is J'riar... That was polite, yes? But her eyes were beginning to whirl with distress to realize someone else had fallen down. Was there anything they could do? She didn't know. Mine, I am so worried...
