Dude-LAP vegito61283 Dude-LAP MeXiCaN cOoKiE Football vegito61283 Colts are a good team, but there are extreme select teams that are able to make the playoffs with half there team gone or injured. Philly, Pitt, NE(plus the camcorder) and Giants are really the only teams who can do that year in and year out. I do not believe the Colts will be able to do that. Titans did not really lose all that much. Haynesworth was only playing the way he did because it was a contract year plus he did not play the whole season either. They will be really good this year....As long as Collins plays sober instead of drunk. Colts are not that great of a team, and will probably do much worse due the fact that they have a New coach, and Manning has been going downhill the past few seasons. And the Titans aren't all that great either, but better then the Colts. The Loss of 1 fantastic player doesn't mean that the team sucks though. IMO, they should put Vince in over Collins though.Well the Colts actually have been able to make it into the playoffs year in and year out. The Colts have been in the playoffs for 7 straight seasons, and I think they'll make it 8. I don't have them winning the AFC South over the Titans, but they should be able to grab a wildcard spot. I just think that Harrison and Dungy is more of a loss than Haynesworth. The Titans also had a slightly better offseason. Tennessee is a better team at the moment, led by their defense. That is a really good assessment on that. But with their division getting better, it will be even harder overall for the Colts to win it this year. I mean the Jags had a pretty decent offseason so they should put more pressure than they did last year and the Texans had a decent offseason as well. They will be a lot better. Especially now that Schaubb has had more experience within the system. They may actually leapfrog the Colts to get the wildcard spot. That may be the more likely situation. Yep, the Texans are in really good shape. And improving offensive with many promising players, including Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels, and Steve Slaton. Mario Williams, Dunta Robinson, and DeMeco Ryans lead a solid defense. And the Texans also had a very good draft, adding Cushing, Barwin, Casey, and Caldwell. They will be a team to watch out for in the near future, but I still think the Colts can edge them off for a playoff spot this upcoming season. That all combined with all the loss the Colts have had this offseason is why I have the Texans above the Colts.

The Texans have had a pretty average team over the last few seasons, which is why I still have the Colts ahead of them at the moment. They don't have an elite defense like the Titans, which propelled them over Indianapolis.

I understand you are saying that about Manning, but I challenge you this. Is he really that good without Marvin? Remember, Marvin, Wayne and Clark are all a whole when he was the best. When he didnt have Marvin, Eli was just as effective. So do you really think that Manning will be as good? His stats have noticeable decreased as Marvins have if I was looking at the information correctly.

First of all, as a Giants fans, I'd like to say that Eli Manning was never as effective as Peyton, haha. Super Bowl XLII was something really special, but Peyton will always be more consistent. Well in 2007, Marvin Harrison only played in 5 games, and the Colts went 13-3. And if you all remember, Harrison lost a crucial fumble in their playoff game against the Patriots, just coming off his injury. Also, this past season, Peyton Manning won the MVP award, in a season where he did not use Harrison all that much. The Colts have Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. Anthony Gonzales is improving, and Addai will work with Donald Brown. I think the offense will manage, without skipping much of a beat.

Can you tell me a player last year that really distinguished themselves? Honestly? I mean Larry Fitzgerald came close, but nothing he hadnt done, Warner didnt really distinguish himself. No one did. So they had to pick someone and they decided to go off the fan votes and pick Manning because Manning is always getting his Knob slobbered by the media. My personal opinion is the James Harrison should have gotten it last year. He is the only reason why the Steelers defense did as good as they did last year.

Manning helped his team reach the playoffs almost single-handedly. Sure we didn't see another Brady or Moss combo of two seasons ago, but Peyton was the most deserving of everyone. It just seems like he didn't "distinguish" himself, because what he does is second nature. Also, if you want to go defensive, DeMarcus Ware would have been a better choice. James Harrison played really well, but he isn't "the only reason why the Steelers defense did as good as they did last year." It starts with d**k LeBeau, and then a handful of defensive talent. Ware was pretty much a one-man show in a mediocre defense.

I guess I coult let you have that one, but I still whole-heartedly believe that the MVP should go to the person who stood out the most among his peers and did more for his team and was even more essential to any of their success. With that in mind, it would have been Harrison or Ware. Not Manning.

Nobody really stands out on the Steelers' defensive unit. The entire group works collectively, and is great. When you have Hampton, Timmons, Farrior, Woodley, Harrison, Clark, and Polamalu, the whole team is bound for success.

There were several times when no one was good enough to stop players and then Harrison just went beyond the call of duty. But you have to remember that in the defense, the players have to think they are all alone when covering their players and others players near them so they have to do more,. Offense does not need to worry about that.

Offense does not need to worry about that. Well the MVP is named based on what is done during the regular season. But yeah, Harrison did step up in crucial moments. But one thing that people should notice is how a good defense makes some players look even better. For instance, if one guy misses a tackle in a talented group of linebackers in a 3-4, and another LB quickly makes the tackle, that initial mistake is overlooked. That's what made scouts cautious with the talented USC linebackers in this Draft, with Maualuga, Cushing, and Matthews. I don't really get what you meant with the defense thinking they're alone in covering. Many defenses play zone, where the cornerbacks don't press as hard, and wait for help from the safeties. Also, offenses have downfield blocking, which is similar, and very crucial in field position.
