I gave her a soft look and a curious nod, sighing. "I must admit I was curious what the difference in appearance between birds here and birds back home might have been."

She shrugged. "I'm not sure. I've only seen one from outside of this land." She looked to the sun. We should get going. It will be getting dark soon.

I nodded softly, deigning it better practice not to argue, although I had no particular fear of the dark. "May I ask you... When was the last time you spent an evening watching the night sky, my friend?" I asked, watching the slowly darkening sky. "Have you ever stopped to consider which of the spirits may be watching you, one day to the next?"

Stopping, Tara looked at the other girl in surprise before her gaze drifted upwards. "Not for a long time." She sighed. "My quarry hunts at night. I'm usually to busy looking in the sky to look at it."

I hummed softly as I grinned. "Can't see the forest for the trees, hmm?" I smiled. "Maybe we should try to sleep outside some nights. I bet the spirits might like some company, what company we might offer." I chuckled, nodding. "But for now, you wanted to go into this town of yours, yes?"

Tara shook her head to clear it, and grinned. "Yeah, need to re-stock and re-fuel." She hiked her bag higher on her shoulders. "The Pokenav said it was this way." She pointed, and making sure her companion was behind her, headed off.

I tilted my head softly at the pack, but shrugged and, ignoring whatever her questions may have been, followed along behind her, reminding the rabbits to stick close.

{WOOO I HAVE INTERNET AGAIN!!!!}
It turns out that Tara wasn't too far off track when she got lost. They had only been walking for a short time when the trees ended and they could see the lights of a small town in the clearing ahead.
"Not much longer now." She smiled to her new companion. "Come on, we'll get a room at the Pokecenter before the good ones are all gone."

(Awesome! Grats!)
I had stopped momentarily to look at the lights, amused by how small they seemed. "The fireflies are quite beau-... Wait, that's your village?" I asked, staring at you a moment before taking to a light run again to follow along. All the while, though, I kept my question of a Pokecenter's identity quiet, not wanting to appear any more ridiculous than I already did.

With a warm meal and a soft bed just up ahead, Tara momentarily forgot that her companion was new to, well, everything, and gave her a strange look over her shoulder.
"If it was my town I'd be running for home. This is just a pit stop." She looked ahead again and sighed, "Sometimes, I do miss my pillows." She snapped out of her brief homesickness, and grinned to her companion. "Keep an eye out for a building with a red roof. It shouldn't be too hard to find."
Tara kept up her brisk pace and the lights of the town drew closer.

I blinked, thoroughly confused, now, but kept on your tail anyways, with the rabbits on my own. I stared at the lights a little longer. "It certainly is a large village," I muttered, watching softly as the 'fireflies' grew larger. "How... How do they keep their lights so bright? Is there a bonfire in each of the teepees?" I asked, wondering, also, what a roof was. I reckoned it was something like the lids another tribe's housing units had sported, or the covers we used to divert rainfall on our teepees. Of course, the thought that they could be colored was beyond befuddling, but I didn't question it, anyways.

(gah! sorry, I thought I had responded already before school swallowed me whole.)
Tara slowed her pace down a little, as her reply sunk in. She looked over to her companion. "Oh dear, um, well, you're in for quite a culture shock. I'll try to explain everything as best as I can, but, well, just stay close." Tara looked back to the small town. "I think we'll just get to the pokemon center quickly," She grinned at her companion, "Try not to let your head explode with questions, okay?"

I tilted my head a bit confusedly, looking you over and catching up to her. "I... Suppose..." I said softly, watching you briefly, then turning back to the oversized 'village' and it's many 'bonfires'. "I'll... Try...?" I said. "So... What's at a 'Pokemon Center' again?"

"A pokemon center, or pokecenter. Is somewhere for travalers to get food, and sleep. They have phones, computers, and can heal pokemon." She bounced a little, her voice proud.
"The pokecenters are a lifeline for both trainers and people like me. If you ever need help, a pokecenter is the place to go."
The dirt trail they were on, merged with the road leading into the town.
"Gah, the downside to towns is the pavement. You get so used to the surface being springy. Pavement takes a while to get used to again." She sighed, "Were almost there."

I hummed and followed you, pausing at the merger of the different landscapes and avoiding walking on the pavement as though it carried with it some plague or other. "... Why do you walk on such... Unnatural Earth?"
