Raco nearly pushed Val upon the large group of cats to welcome Val into family of oddball assassins. "Everyone, t'is is to be our newest Konouichi! Valiant!" he said taking a seat near the fire while many of the other Konouichi decended on Val as well as a few of the men all smiling and hugging, shaking her hand and welcoming the manx.
Raco gave his half smile as his family accepted the still injured manx. He knew they would take to her quickly, especially since he was the one who had brought her in and was under his charge, if she was good enough for Raco, she was good enough for the rest of them.

Valiant tried not to flinch from the males touching her, but failed. He mental wounds were not caught up even to her body. Her eyes darted around her, taking in way to many sights; it was as though she was becoming claustrophobic. Her hands stayed still at her sides and she centered herself, trying to calm down her heart.
“hello.”
She mumbled lightly and nearly ran back to Raco.
This was a bit too much for her fragile disposition. Her eyes remained garuded as she walked to the larger cat.
She wouldnt loose this battle.

A few of the girl frowned slightly as Val escaped back to Raco. But they all knew that Val had been through a rough experience that Raco told them not to bother her about, she would open up in time as she felt more comfortable around them.
Raco nodded to her. "You lasted long t'an I t'oug't you would wit' t'em." he said with a slight laugh and patting her on the back. "You'll get used to t'em, it's t'e girls you need get more used to. T'e guys will mainly leave you alone." he said, when it stuck him about Youko...he'd warn her later about their real leader.

Valiant nodded.
She knew she had to open up, but for some reason she couldn’t bring herself to it. At the moment it wasn’t the fighting that scared her, it was the emotional risk. She glanced back at the girls smiling, it was false, but she was a good actress. She leaned her head on raco’s shoulder closing her eyes and sensing around her. Someone was staying in the shadows.
Her eyes widened as she tried to make out the shape.
“…. Raco?” She asked not letting her gaze leave the shadow figure. All around her she felt the cats, but they didn’t command attention. She tried to multitask with gazing into the shadow and trying to make sure she wouldn’t be snuck up on.

Raco looked at Val, "Yes?" he asked wondering is Valiant couldn't take anymore and wanted to leave. He hoped not, the fish weren't even done cooking yet, it wouldn't be long, but nevertheless. "Not ready to leave already are you?" he asked tilting his head a little.
A few of the girls smiled back and waved, many of them plotting to get the boys to play the music while they attempted to get Val up and dance with them. It was a passe time of the Anbu, and they wanted to really bring Val into it all.

She looked up at him.
"no. But someone is in the sadows."
Val looked around at the girls, ad some of the boys, it wasnt like they were bad people... she was just scared to death of anyone at the moment.
Her eyes kept flicking to the sadows, trying not to make herself look like a fool. She blushed, what if it was just her imagination besting her?
She hoped Raco could see it too.

Raco perked his ears and listened beyond the happy activity, his eyes flickered to their surroundings, but he felt and saw nothing. Could Val actually sense something he could not...But there was no way for someone to have snuck into the territory, the Anbu he had set up at the watch posts tonight never would have let anything slip passed them.
"I do not sense anyt'ing..." he said...could it be Youko? He was the only cat possible of slipping past the Anbu or getting into the territory without the warning being set of.

Valiant sighed and looked toward the ground.
“It’s more then likely just my imagination then.”
She truly didn’t believe she would have senses more advanced then Racos. But to her eyes the shadow kept moving. Her mind tried to forget about it, but her eyes were drawn to the spot.
Had val lost her mind? She surely hoped not. A voice in the back of her head told her to trust her instincts… but with a group of assassins, at least one would notice a shadow darker then the night.

Raco patted Val on the back speaking in a voice only she could hear. "Do not worry, you are more t'an likely just traumatized from w'at 'appened to you." he said feeling bad for the Manx.
He knew the events that had happened to her would haunt her for quite some time. But he hoped that her keeping busy with training would help her get her mind of it all, the training would wear her out and she would more than likely go to sleep every night to tired to even have a spare thought about what had happened.

Val shook her head and stood. Perhaps she wasn't ready... but she didn't want to go back to her hole either.
Her feet guided her into the very edge of the trees and she continued walking.
She wasn't technically running away.
Dancing and merriment could wait. She wanted to train, with or without help.
Once a safe distance away she practiced her moves, learning not to favor her injury.

Raco watched Val get up and walk off...He signaled to Karin to come over to him and the female quickly made her way over.
"Yeah? You ready to dance?" she asked excitedly, flicking her tail this way and that.
Raco shook his head. "Karin, follow Valiant and keep an eye on 'er. I'm worried about 'er." he said not looking up at the female.
Karin gave a sigh and nodded. "Got it, hot shot." she said silently snuck after Valiant. The female spied on Val from behind a bush, she was good, but not quite to Anbu standards yet, but that would take time as it was. If the girl wanted to train then she should help her out, or at least teach her something...but that was Raco's job...she was under his charge for the time being. Although, since when did Karin ever fully listen to Raco when they weren't on a mission? That was a good point, he had just asked her to keep an eye on Val...

Valiant quickly got used to the injury... then she sensed someone watching her. Golden eyes scanned the darkness discreetly and she quietly slipped behind a tree.
Damn it all she would find who was watching them. Her nails sunk into the tree as she made her way up.
Valiants eyes dilated as she glanced into a bush.
Some one was there, but she was not going to give herself away.
What was it raco said? they valued being discrete, yes that was it.

Ooh, this girl was good, no wonder Raco had taken her under his wing. Karin slunk her way out of the bush and up the nearest tree without moving a single leaf, that was her job and there was no way she could let Val onto her moving in closer.
Raco sat by the fire still waiting to hear back from Karin, the damn girl was a pain, but she was good at everything that she did; he at least has to admit that much.
Karin snuck her way up and over and dropped down in front of Val grinning. "Hey there Valley! You should be back at the fire with everyone else you know." she said putting her hands on her hips and flickering her tail. "I can see why Raco likes you so much, you're a lot like him."

Valiant found her hand lingering just over her boot, when she realised she would have been dead already.
"damn it all."
She sighed an sat down on the thick branch. Glaring into the darkness. In a blink of a eye she went from being the best student in training, to being .... well dead.
Instead of grabbing one of her short swords out of her boot she took a dagger from her hip and started spinning it on two of her fingers.
She needed a babysitter now? how fair was that?
Nearly dead, she had been nearly dead, not dead, nearly dead, and now she had a babysitter.
She sighed and threw the knife to stick in a tree.

Karin laughed, "Hey don't sweat it, you just started. Did better than me when I was new. Now I'm the best Konouichi here." she said watching Val fling the dagger. "Nice shot! That'll come in dead handy I'll tell ya what." Karin said holding out her hand to Val.
"Don't go beatin' yourself up. Raco's a hard a** for training and he'll not be easy with ya in any way. I would know, normally training with him means going to bed covered in bruises, scrapes and cuts." she said shaking her head. It was true though, but she had a feeling Raco was gonna be a bit easier on Val, lucky little s**t.
