Here you can find a list of the various human characters you may come into contact with in the world of Dragon-Bound. These characters may serve as a start for an RP plot or be sought out by your character for help, etc! If you wish to RP with a NPC contact either Dragon-Bound or Kiddo the fox-phoenix and let her know. I am not very protective of my NPCs. While some people may be adverse to someone else attemting something dramatically life-altering on their NPCs I am not. You can try to bind these, fall in love with them, or even try and kill them. I can't say it'll work or not - I do have information I've tucked away on each NPC that you don't know about - but you can certainly try. Some human characters may even be the key to earning special items not availible in the shop for gold. Index by post: 1. Avalene Mierdeth 2. Baroness Yvette 3. Gorknik 4. Harson Com 5. Caleb Rhodry 6. Fire Keeper Nekor 7. Seist Loringar

I am searching without vision For the answers in the dirt I am waiting just for nothing For the day that I'll be heard
...
I am looking without vision For a different kind of way I am thinking just for nothing About that specific day -Mother of Light by Epica Name: Avalene Mierdeth Age: 19 Appearance: A skinny girl with mouse-brown hair and blue eyes. She tries to keep most of herself hidden under clothing and her veil. History/Personality: Avalene started her life as a bard, learning under a tutor how to sing and tell the stories of old. She also learned how to defend herself with a spear although she never got past the merely competent stage. When she turned 17 she started to fall into trances and then started predicting things in these trances - telling the future in a prophecy. In time she learned how to do these trances at will. Unfortunately, Avalene usually prophecies something bad. She has angered quite a few people due this and gotten herself banished or made enemies in many locations that didn't appreciate having a little girl making predictions about important people that were less than favorable. As a result she sticks to the borderlands between human and dragon territory where people are more concerned about dragons than they are a scrawny prophetess. She is also an Unwillingly Blessed, though she does not realize this. All she knows is that she has little control over this strange power and that no one seems to know anything about it but everyone wants to use her to find out more about what it is. Avalene is shy and reserved and tries her best to avoid attention. She only sings or tells stories when she needs money but otherwise keeps to herself and avoids people. If someone knows who she is and asks for a prophesy she will often agree as the power is not something that can be easily denied. Rumor of her whereabouts is usually easy to find, although not entirely accurate, but after some hunting she can be located.

Don't be afraid, participate and Just give us all your trust Your soul will be saved Just honour me, I'll set you free so Get ready to join the Very last crusade
Get ready to taste the Final victory
Ad finem temporum The Last Crusade by Epica Name: Baroness Yvette Age: 46 Appearance: A tall and elegant lady who keeps her appearance beautiful through liberal application of cosmetics and carefully tailored garments. She has long blonde hair and wears very expensive jewelry. History/Personality: Lady Yvette lives just inside the borderlands near the north-eastern part of the human nations, where she is safe from dragon attacks. Her lands-holdings are very large and she is one of the most powerful baronesses in the area. She uses her immense riches to fund groups of dragon-hunters and serves as a base for many successful organizations. There are even rumors that she has done darker things than just reward those that slay dragons. Lady Yvette is dangerously intelligent and has strong political allies as well as enough riches to keep her safe. She is haughty and makes sure that every gesture she makes is done to impress. While she may tend to underestimate people upon first impression she surrounds herself with more careful retainers who will not allow that flaw of hers to go unchecked to the point where she makes an enemy. She loves showing off her wealth and is very open about her funding of the dragon-hunter groups. This does put her in some danger but there is enough of an anti-dragon attitude within her lands that any would-be attacker is stopped long before he/she reaches her keep.

Naked in midwinter magic Lies an angel in the snow The frozen figure crossed by tracks of wolves An encounter symbolic yet truthful With a hungry choir of wolves An agreement immemorial to be born -Sacrament of Wilderness by Nightwish Name: Gorknik the High Priest Age: Unknown Appearance: A wild looking man who has spent far too many years and the wilderness away from bathtubs. He is heavily-built, strong and agile from years of running down his own food. His hair is long and matted and poorly cut only when it gets so long that it falls into his food. He wears animal skins for clothing and animal bones for decoration. A dead rabbit is his hat. Not a rabbit skin hat, but the actual, dead body of a rabit. It is changed out for a new one as needed. History/Personality: Gorknik is an odd person. He lives at the foot of the northern mountains, in dragon territory. The dragons tolerate him for many of the wiser ones believe that he has seen something he shouldn't have which drove him into insanity. The younger dragons just think he is an oddity and are amused by his ramblings. Gorknik is mostly insane. Sometimes he will spout bits of information that appear to have some sort of significance but for the most part he just babbles. He believes himself to be a high priest of some religion ages extinct that puts dragons as gods. Every few years or so he will vanish on a quest to gather more offerings for the dragons and then return and any dragon that comes calling will find themselves bequeathed with a gift, be it a funny shaped rock, a piece of bone, or something truly valuable.

Name: Harson Com Age: 48 Appearance: A rugged man with thick calloused hands from metalworking. He is often mistaken as a common smith rather than a master artisan because he doesn’t look the part. History/Personality:Harson is said to have a bit of magic in him and whether or not this is true has never been verified as he detests mages and chases them out of his forge if they so dare as pass the doorway. He lives in Phingris.
He is a master craftsman and can make the most beautiful things out of metal that anyone has ever seen. His weapons are without peer, his objects of art are breathtaking, and everyone who has managed to acquire one swears that there is more to his craft than just metal. They say there is magic in these things and Harson always refuses to comment on this. The truth is that he is a Natural mage and doesn't realize it. He is a close-mouthed man, disrespectful of the upper classes, and cares for little outside his work.

Sometimes I tremble Like a little child Their faces mourning With a broken smile
Sometimes I crumble When they're chasing through Sometimes I feel that I could rule the world -Rule the World by Kamelot Name: Caleb Rhodry, Captain of Yvette's Guard Age: 35 Appearance: A stern man with pale skin that burns easily and stringy brown hair. He is strong and agile, being practiced with all sorts of weaponry and the arts of war, combat, and dragon-hunting. History/Personality: Caleb comes from a long line of dragon hunters. The cloak he wears is from the skin of a young dragon, back before they lost their wings, and has been passed down from generation to generation. His father raised him alone to be cold and strong and when he died suddenly Caleb packed up and left his home behind and has never returned. He found service in Lady Yvette's keep and after a few years was promoted to lead her personal guard. Caleb is loyal but harbors deeper concerns for carrying on the legacy of his family and that of the dragon-hunting skills. He has one child, a daughter, who lives with her mother and he cautiously watches to see if she will be able to carry on the tradition of dragon-hunting and one day wear the dragonskin cloak.

Name: Nekor, Fire Keeper and priest of Lahmear Age: 26 Appearance: Nekor is a young man with a round face, a bit of fat from easy living, and always seems to be smiling. He wears the bright red, gold, and white robes of his order and is never seen without his silver staff that bears the sacred flame. History/Personality: Nekor was raised in the inland and landed a cushy position as a Fire Keeper in one of the many temples there. Eventually, he was sent out to the Borderlands when Baroness Yvette made a request to have a priest attending the Fire Festival. Upon his arrival, Yvette made sure to take him under her wing, going so far as to bribe his superiors to appoint him as head priest of her region. Nekor finds he cannot back down from such an offer and is reluctantly one of the many people under the Baroness's sway. His interest in dragons, however, is one secret he keeps from her.

This glancing life is like a morning star A setting sun, or rolling waves at sea A gentle breeze or lightning in a storm A dancing dream of all eternity Caravanserai by Loreena McKennit- Name: Seist Loringar, priest of Dues and Frain Age: 32 Appearance: Seist is a handsome man with dark brown hair that he keeps short and spiky, save for two tails on either side of his face. He carries a sword and dresses in very rich traveling clothes when on the road. He is very extravagant in his clothing choices and is always in style and displaying his wealth with his appearance. He has ritual scars around his eyes to mark his devotion to Dues and Frain, in mimicry of the goddess's blindness. History/Personality: Seist is a Margrave of Kas Kain and holds a modest amount of territory near the eastern border of Mirkseth. It has good connection with the Irs river so he is able to participate in trade and make a fortune off it. He was educated in Shavelle and learned magic there. He was exposed to ideas from Mirkseth and decided to devote himself to Dues and Frain as a result of seeing how strong Mirkseth's priesthood is. He often travels between Mirkseth, Kas Kain, Shavelle, and the Borderlands. Seist is one of the few priests of Dues and Frain and believes in holding mages responsible for their actions with the point of a sword. He is responsible for murders in both Shavelle and Kas Kain, although he is careful not to leave evidence. He is flamboyant, charismatic, and very devoted to his calling as priest. He can use both regular human magic and divine magic.

Victim of fortune Elementary charms have gotten you this far It’s only a matter of time What I put together, no man shall bar We cannot fear what we do not understand Magic holds the upper hand Name: Erimett Suldigar, High Mage and Scout of Shavelle. Age: 44 Appearance: In public, Erimett is clean and well dressed in finery respective of his station and ability. Any jewelry he wears is gold, earrings being the most common. He wears bold, solid cloth colors in contrast to his long, platinum blonde hair and pale skin. Cerulean blue eyes stand out from his face matching the similarly colored mage cloak he commonly wears about his shoulders. History/Personality: Erimett carries himself with pride, standing tall and cowers to none. His study of magic is an unquenchable thirst which has benefited Shavelle from his selective searches for new talent, stern lectures with students, and the confidence in his work that is then passed along to the rest of the mage society. Despite this much of his history remains unknown. Other than being a far reaching land traveler before arriving at Shavelle, his origins, his family, his training is not on record. Being social at his leisure and busy during most public appearances makes it difficult to learn otherwise, but that is not entirely unusual for someone in his position. Scouting the youth of other territories takes him far from the city and can take longer if there is more than one stop. Classes provide a glimpse at his formal nature and breadth of knowledge while anything of importance discovered by another mage will catch his interest immediately as he turns over the new information as a gem cutter would a new glittery stone. Behind the scenes, some of his secretiveness is unofficially approved. Because of the nature of some experiments, a second laboratory issued to him is located in a keep outside the city providing him the room and privacy necessary to make tests that may be deemed more questionable by others.
