Psyche is practically cackling when she catches the bottle cap.
"Yes, I am very literal. But that was a joke, my friend. A fine actor, aren't I? Good thief trick."
She looks down at Lina and smiles.
"And what sort of problem do you have?"

Reeve doesn't reply to Psyche, he just turns to Lina and grins. As Psyche's hand folds around the cap, it ought to shock her as if Reeve had shuffled over several yards of carpet.

Lina flicked her fingers together, creating a spark. Her ki started flowing into it, making it start to form into fire. Then rapidly the flame grew hotter, far too much of her energy was being poured into the technique and it seemed like she was being burned by her own spiritual energy. Lina formed a barrier around her singed fingers and the flame kept burning and growing for a few moments before flickering out.
"So what do you think? And this way is more towards fire Reeve, I know you said not to go that way, but it's the less painful option... and we are in the Ho dojo after all."

Psyche tilts her head, thinking. Though she can use it in various forms, Psyche still isn't an expert in foxfire. Especially confusing to her is how the element is formed. She has found, however, that emotions seem to play a big factor.
"It's like... Are your body and soul not in harmony? That your foxfire would burn you is strange. To me, at least."
She looks to Reeve with a raised brow.

"Strange indeed," Reeve agrees, turning very straight-faced and serious. He holds out his palm and makes a small flame, watching as it doesn't harm him.
"Didn't you say at one point that this wasn't the real you?"

She tapped one finger against her chin as she thought. Her mind told her that wouldn't necessarily tell another fox if she living in a shape-shift, or her situation.
That idea was thrown out the window as Reeve spelled it out.
"Take one part Ishira and her brother's mother, another part a female dragon of my family's breed. Mix the two with the life force of who has my mind, and construct the body from the life force in that mix's form."

Psyche doesn't look away from Reeve. For a moment, anyway. When she opens the palm with the bottle cap, it's become a melted ball of plastic and metal. There was never even a smell of something burning. She mouthes the words "nice try." Then she begins to toss the melted bottle cap up and down.
"Certainly a unique situation. I would ask if you have any supressed emotions. Lots of anger or frustration. That seems to make foxfire go out of control. In my case. But, I don't think it would burn me no matter how angry I become. Maybe it's an issue of having too much spiritual energy going at once? Like, calling on the foxfire overloads you? Kind of like flipping the breaker in a house with too many electronics?"

Reeve's eyes widen at Psyche. Oh you're gooooood.
However, they narrow at the revelation of Lina's makeup.
"Geez- there's your problem right there. It's like welding together three toyotas and dropping a honda engine in. Of course there are going to be some kinks....and being related to Ish-Ishira surely ain't helping your cause..."

"I suppress my emotions frequently, but normally avoid that outside combat. Your idea about it being an overload may be more accurate however. I've had time to guess at it, but never anything solid to do about it."
She sighed and turned her head to Reeve.
"It feels like I'm putting too much energy into it, but I've never been able to figure out why I am. It's like the energy that makes my body gets pulled out to feed the technique."
She tapped her chin.
"So maybe you're both right, but I'd think that there's something that would explain it differently then that. I mean Rai is just spiritual energy being converted differently before being released, so shouldn't whatever problem have manifested in some way there? Something similar to what happens with my foxfire attempts seems to happen with regular fire techniques too... though then it's like a reaction of some sort.... Like if I start it then it won't stop till my fingers are charcoal."

Psyche seems to pout a little as she thinks. One ear flicks. Her tail curls and then falls to her side again, so long it touches the floor next to her. Interesting. Very interesting. But...
"Foxfire seems to differ from person to person. Every time I see it, the element is a little different in its nature. Have you tried using foxfire kind of like Rai instead of Ho? I mean, that's a concept I haven't seen yet. But, considering your unique make up, anything's possible. After all, you say Rai behaves for you when Ho does not. Not that your issues with Ho make sense to me, but..."

Lina raised an eyebrow. Her tail flicked up into the air occasionally before deciding to rest in her lap. Her ears tilted back as she thought.
"So try making it more towards Rai huh? As for my issues with Ho, it probably has to do with an off-shoot of my dragon side's ancestors developed the ability to breath fire. Though most of them found that brought about the problem of spontaneously combusting if they didn't eat right."

Reeve is starting to feel decidedly out of place without a tail. He taps his chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe...if you made a barrier of electricity around yourself, and made, for an example, a core spark of the same polarity so it would be repelled from you, and coated that in foxfire you intended to use..."

Her somewhat large and bushy tail split into four separate tails in a way that likely would make reeve question if she was playing a joke on him, or that she just kept the tails bunched together. The smile on her face made it clear either way it was just because she noticed Reeve feeling out of place.
With her hands she formed a barrier around one arm by projecting it from the other. the other hand began to form foxfire. It seemed to be pushed away from her hand further then when she had projected it before, but the barrier started to weaken rapidly. The barrier made the Ki that was being pulled out of her hands become visible. Her fingers on the hand projecting foxfire still started to become singed.

She released the technique, forming another ball of light that turned to dust that went towards healing her fingers this time. she soon seemed like she had forgotten the pain.
Lina just tilted her head, grinning.
"It's so much more rewarding to keep them out though."
Her tails split again, leaving her looking like she had sixteen small tails. It would be obvious that she was either just using an illusion, or shape-shifting herself for her private amusement now.
"Though shape-shifting one's self in ways that don't screw with muscle memory is useful as well for building reserves if kept up long enough,"
