ashlander_alpha Hollow, I get the feeling there's some method to his madness. I think he can comprehend his own hypocrisy in stating that all forms of religion must be eradicated from the Earth, but then proceeds to openly wave a flag for paganism. If not, I find it hard to believe he's the same person responsible for Tyr's music. My best guess is that he's doing the "******** all religions" schtick to appeal to the sort of kids you don't let into MR. You know, the kind that view metal and anti-religious rhetoric as a means to an end, an end of angsty teenage rebellion against parents, teachers, or what have you. The kind that go on YouTube and forums and post s**t like "relgion is bulshit, i lsten 2 mayhem n slayer and dimu borgir my parents h8 it but i don care HAIL SATAIN 666!!!1" You see, normally I would agree with you, espeically the "religion us Bullshit" at the end of the show thing. Okay, fine, PAGAN Knights, I get it. I could ignore that. But to ban someone on the forum for defending themselves with reguards to religion, to me doesn't seem like he's just doing it for the hell of it. Not the first time he's pushed someone of a faith out of a Tyr fansite either. BUT, to go back, in the thread he was intimating that Tyr isn't for anyone of religion (paganism excused of course). I looked for loopholes, trust me, lol. I looked, but the message from him on the forum was definately hostile, wholeheartedly supported hostility. Being in the Bible Belt of the Scandinavias, I don't doubt that his past Christian experiences have been sub-par, but he gave off a feeling of complete alienation to anyone who belives in some sort of deity or higher power. Then proceeded to rant about Evolution and String Theory. Heri's Tyr made a complete 180 from their first 3-4 albums as with the new album. I never saw Tyr as anti-anything, I always thought they were pretty chill with religion like Svartby (seriously those guys are amazing). I was mistaken. I gave them up because it was the right thing for me to do. Eh, I still have Ensiferum and Hammer Horde and Svartyby and Eluveitie and Korpiklaani and ... and... and... and.. and... biggrin

Warrior of Metal ScorchMaster16 My Hollow No, Hari has a royal stick up his rear. I understand the historical anti-Christianity view from bands, and songs like that I sualy dont find overtly offensive because it happened and it pissed a lot of people off. (Not like the pagans and Atheists NEVER EVER did such a thing...ahem xp ). But, Hari is a jerk. He's has gone out of his way with this album and his latest speeches, ect to express and pick at religion as a whole, not just Christianity. But Christianity seems to be at the heart of his tyrade. Yes, I made a funny. Giving up Tyr was the hardest musical decision I ever had to do, but I dont regret it. Hari has gone out of his way to be intolerant, call it what you want but anyone that says "religion as a whole is a disease that needs to be exterminated, even when people keep it to themselves" is downright intolerant. It's not about history with Hari or Tyr, it's just his personal vendetta. And that's something that my life can do without. Musical genius or not. That's pretty awesome I have to say giving up a band for your beliefs (no sarcasm). I think I'm gonna give up listening to Behemoth because Evangelion took it a step too far. Now I understand having your beliefs and that bashing Christianity is still the "in" thing in metal these days...but the "Whore of Babylon" sitting on the Beast as cover art? Sometimes I question do they even know the full context of that statement they're making? Do they even realize that the Whore gets killed by the beast? They're pretty much setting themselves up for failure right there. I like Death Metal as much as the next metal head but there are bands that I just stay away from for that particular reason above and I think unfortunately Behemoth made that list...however I do like the way their music sounds. Sounds really awesome. Though to be honest the only album I listen is Demigod because that seems to be the most "accessible" one. Just my two cents. I completely agree with that. I laugh at any band that praises Satan, because if you look at the story, Satan was defeated. Hell is not his kingdom, but a place built for his own torment. So basically, they're openly praising a loser. EXACTLY! Someone else gets it! I'm like "Seriously Jesus died on a cross and came back! What has Satan done? Band Members: Uhhh.....He's uh....you know what I don't know we were just being puppets like we accuse Christians and other religions of being." Like I said if you have a view of something that's fine, but seriously if you're gonna use biblical imagery to promote rebellion, don't do it against a smart Christian.
