Cygan Czarwonica Meri witchunterobin Usually I am confronted with propoganda from Christians with putting pamphlets in New Age and Dream books. Other than that I have never been threatened with church, the bible, or any other threats with religionous things. Oh they are especially sneaky in that! I remember going to a chain bookstore (gee guess which aisle I was in 4laugh ) and seeing a person doing that. I was nonchalantly perusing around them, kinda expecting some sort of reaction like them stopping or maybe dropping a few lines to me about my soul burning...It's pretty disrespectful if you think about it. How would they feel about a nice bookmark with a picture of the goddess along with a few blurbs of the rede or the charge?I recently put a stop to all that s#!t seeing as I: 1) Caught someone in the act and asked them what they were doing and 2) told the store about it. *evil grin* They haven't put anymore pamphlets in the books. Heh heh heh. The book people actually hated the people who did that stuff. Honestly... they have a section in the store for bibles and Christian related paraphernalia. Although it would be pointless and not furthering our intelligence level, I'd like them to get a taste of their own medicine. Crispies only though. Everyone else NOT bible-humping or what-have-you can be "left alone".

One thing that I like about Paganism in general is that you don't have any witches or others in the branches trying to convert people.

That's not completely true actually. I've met a few people who were so set on paganism, that they'd constantly tell non-pagans "If only you could see the love the goddess has for you. Set your bibles aside and open up to the god and goddess. They want you to hear them." Yea, there's even fundamentalist pagans. I know that's somewhat contradictory, but it gets the point across.

Still... the scale says that Christians are out-weighing the Pagans with the subject of who does more "converting speeches".

...which in a sense reflects much on the Christians side. For good or bad depends upon the convert.

I've gotten dragged to church a lot. I havne't exactly voice my opinions to my family yet. There's a little too much to tell them so until I can do one and hopefully do the process justice it'll have to stay that way....oh and the fact that one is methodist and the other Jehovah's Witness doesn't help...
So I've been dragged for mother's day, seeing my grandma in the choir and kinda dragged through my own (thrown away) confirmation. The only time I wasn't dragged was to see my cousin's confirmation. She had my full support, seeing as it was her choice to do it biggrin

Ahhhh off topic and yet on at the same time...
So...My boyfriend is moving out of his house. He's actually moving out of a whole life that involves like...hick versions of the charmed ones without powers and about 150 lbs heavier. His best friend used to live there too, but he moved away and now us getting a place is becoming this extremely urgent thing. Anyway, along with videogames and other personal belongings, B is starting to move out things he thinks will get broken during this upcoming WWE smackdown. Well, tonight he brought over something rather...unlikely.
B isnt religious, well...he's kind of curious about anything I do, but nothing Christian. His Grandmother however, is...well I'm assuming Catholic. B brought over this absolutely gorgeous wooden cabinet-like thing full of porcelain, hand painted, prayer cards with pictures of the Virgin Mary on them. While I poured over it, he said that it was now mine (and only the tip of the iceberg apparently). I'm not sure why it was in his possession to begin with, but I know this used to be extremely meaningful to his Grandmum (shes still alive mind you, so why he's got that cards is yet again this weird mystery).
Mary is often worshiped to goddess-like levels in Catholicism. Being an ex-Catholic, she was and still is an extremely comforting avatar for me to see. It doesn't shock me in the slightest that old converts saw the goddess in her image...the stories parallel many Pagan ones. There are like...4 cards where shes holding an infant Jesus, and I can see Isis holding Horus seemingly under the paint...Anyways, while I'm a tree-hugging, belly lovin, spell brewing, nature worshiper, this is totally getting hung up in a place of honor wherever we move. I wish you guys could see it!!
