She laughed loudly. "Please don't."

Having evacuated her thoughts of the situation and her feelings on said situation (not to mention all the possibilities that said situation could create), Tourma saved herself the stress of the emotional rollercoaster ride that was bound to happen. Better later and out of sight then in front of anyone, especially someone who had just seen her go from zero to crazy in no time flat.

It was best to space out the drama bombs.

The kiss was unexpected, but a welcomed surprise. She even found herself leaning into the gesture. There was a fluttering stir somewhere in her stomach, but she ignored it in favor of the warmth his body was providing.

"What time do you have to get up tomorrow?" Tourma asked, suddenly aware that it was getting late and he probably had work tomorrow.

"Not til later in the morning." he replied, resting his head against hers for the moment. This was nice, he concluded at last. Once you stripped away the awkward 'oh god, I'm being touched' aspect, and subtracted the spice of finding someone you barely knew in your lap, having another body this close to your own was soothing.

"I'm supposed to have the day off, but I gotta go to the district office for awhile." Had he told her? No. He hadn't told anybody yet. Somewhere around the third questioning of his manhood, he'd completely forgotten his reasoning for bounding up the stairs in the first place.

"If everything goes well, they're gonna put me on managerial training."

She listened to him curiously as she traced little shapes along the side of his shirt. Her motions stopped when he finally mentioned his promotion. "They promoted you?" Somehow she didn't believe it, but the memory of driving him in while he was still a bit drunk still shined crystal clear in her mind.

Then again, he had been working at this game store for years now, maybe she had just been a bad influence. After all, he never went out on his own, how much trouble could he have gotten into when he was younger?

An idea came to her.

"Wait, I thought your manager was a woman?" She asked, propping herself up to give him a full view of her puzzled expression.

His brow furrowed a bit at the question. "Yeah, she is." he replied. He didn't see what that had to do with anything. "Or was, anyway. Something happened with her family, and she's gotta quit to take care of her sister now."

He recalled the entire scenario of being yanked aside into her office as soon as he'd signed in and gave a wry chuckle. "I THOUGHT she was gonna fire me for the last couple days when she called me back. She had my employee file pulled and everything. Scared the piss out of me."

"Oh well, I was just going to ask you who you blew to get the job." She shrugged her shoulders and returned her head to his chest. "Sounds like what I'd do though. Not the blow job part but the whole making you think you were fired first bit."

Oh there were going to be repercussions, she just knew it. But at the moment, it amused her too much to worry about such things.

He opened his mouth to give a knee-jerk retort, and then closed it again, giving a flustered sigh instead. "Somehow I don't doubt that." he told her. If he'd been dealing with Tourma instead of Jody that day, she probably would have gone so far as to let him pack up his things and head home for the day distrought before calling him up to ask if he wanted to be a manager...

"She gave it to me because she said I'd worked there the longest with the least amount of infractions. There's one guy who's been there longer, but he calls in sick like once a week. .....and he's kind of a jaggoff."

He didn't like Trey very much. Trey was "that guy" who would steal your lunch from the break room fridge because he didn't bring his own, and who would always shoehorn himself into conversations that didn't concern him to make sure you knew he was an expert on a topic he knew nothing about. Not a harmful guy, just, as he'd said, a jaggoff.

"Well I'm happy for you," she said honestly, giving his side a light squeeze so that he knew she was being serious this time.

It was about that time when Tourma realized that she had selfishly stomped all over his good news and more than likely good mood earlier when she had come storming in. Not that any other time would have been more appropriate for her rage fest, but thinking back on it, she -really- had had bad timing.

"Sorry for monsooning on your parade earlier." In Tourma fashion, the apology was very quiet, but also quite sincere.

"It happens." he told her, reciprocating the squeeze. It wasn't something he was going to be able to let go immediately, but dwelling on it wasn't going to help. He'd likely do the rest of his venting later, either to his sister or to whatever hapless person on his buddy list online happened to ask how he was doing. And then he'd bury it and call it done.

"Its not like you knew or anything, right?" Plus, that's just the way my luck runs. Something good happens, something bad is right behind it to make sure everything stays balanced. I really ought to be used to it by now. It had started out bad, at least...though the way it had ended up was another story.

A strand of vibrant pink hair had come free of the rest of it and laid across the bridge of her nose, making him reach out to smooth it away.

It's not like she asked him or anything, either. However, she kept that thought to herself. If he was willing to drop it, she was more than happy to let it dive off a cliff to its death.

"This is true," she outwardly agreed, blinking up at him as he rearranged her hair, which currently held its ground as a mess of flyaways and loose knots. "My hair's everywhere, isn't it?" It was a question that more than likely was redundant, but she wanted to know just how bad the damage was without looking into the mirror to see it. Instead, she'd go by his reaction.

"Heh....maybe a little." he said. It wasn't THAT bad. It was....okay, it looked like she was a failed audition for Fraggle Rock at the moment. But he was not going to tell her so.

His eyes wandered to the bedside clock which reported it was going on about nine-thirty. Not horribly late yet, and he didn't particularly feel like sleeping.

He moved to sit up, stretching.

"You had anything to eat yet?" he asked. "I was gonna grab something on the way home and forgot."

"Liar," she said with a chuckle, shaking her head from side to side. It flopped gloriously.

When he moved to sit up, so did she, stretching her arms up high as a little girlish squeak left her mouth. In an attempt to cover up the noise, she coughed and nodded. "Then lets eat."

Swinging a leg over his waist in order to get out of bed, she paused and peered down at him for a moment. An evil look brewed into her eyes before she let herself give a little lower body shimmy. "Where do you want to eat?"

Maybe she'd just stay there a little bit longer.

"Wherever's open this late, I gu-eesss..." he faltered as she wiggled in his lap. These were not particularly the actions of someone who was committed to the idea of going out for food.

"Where's good for you?" he managed to get out. There was no way she was not doing that on purpose. No. Way.

Her eyebrows raised at his reaction. It was like a new set of powers had dropped into her lap. Wonderful, amazing powers that needed to be tested and explored with much gusto.

And many evil intentions.

She let herself settle (without her full weight, of course), and absently let a hand rub over her stomach under the pretext of a mystery itch. "I don't usually eat this late, what's open?" Blinking down at him, Tourma offered him an innocently inquisitive expression as she shifted herself every so often.

He blinked once....twice.....then jolted a bit.

"Huh?"

Oh. Right, she was talking to him.

"There's um....there's Denny's, but....but I dunno if they have a very vegetarian-friendly menu." he muttered. Somehow, even in the midst of having his brain put through the wringer, he'd managed to retain her choice of diet.

"We could try Waffle House?" he offered, moving to to try and weasel out from beneath her so he could stand as well, succeeding moreso in dragging her with him.

Oh this was so much fun.

Tapping her finger to her lower lip in thought, she considered the Waffle House option for entirely too long before nodding. Taking a moment, she slowly leaned down against him til her lips were nearly touching his earlobe. "Sounds like a plan," she whispered roughly.

Seconds later, Tourma had sat up and untangled herself from him and the bed. Now she stood, humming to herself as she picked through what's left of her clothes to get dressed. Her tail lazily swished behind her as she waited for his reaction to come.

That was the whole point of having this power after all.
