It's Gaia's inability to compromise shining through. Unable to "risk" showing that they listen to users when it comes to things that matter to them for fear they'll lose some of that money. Nice job. Even I've lost complete faith in them. Majority of the items on that page were wildly requested items. *shakes head*

Okay, now that I've calmed down a bit... pirula OK, I'll bite wink Cash items are a special part of Gaia, and the decisions are made more by the business side than the developers (like Fleep & Pan) who make it happen. As one of the first posters pointed out, we do look at the numbers and make decisions about what new cash items to develop based on what sells. Unfortunately, what people say in a poll is often different from what people do with their money. So, in this case, no matter how many users claim they would buy these items directly in the cash shop, all that really matters is how many people actually buy stuff. If you want to vote with your dollars, buy the non-MC, non-EI, non-RIG items from the cash shop...we add some every couple of months and they never seem to sell quite as well. I can think of a few cash items we introduced where people complained loudly that we charge too much for a single-pose or limited pose item. We do try to make sure that the items most people want are common enough to be attainable in the marketplace, but the RIGs also let us put out items that are designed to be extremely rare (and therefore extremely valuable). It is impossible for us to sell extremely rare items directly in the cash shop, because then we have no way of controlling the quantity, and by definition they become less rare and less valuable. The plan for RIGs, as you will see with this next one, is to make the process of getting your item more entertaining as well. So that even if you don't get the prize you want, you got to play a little game, watch a little story unfold, or some other kind of special little experience you can't get elsewhere on the site. Looking back, the first RIGs were things like 'bag-o-win' where you just opened it and got a random amount of gold. Lately, RIGs like the emerald seed, repo lamp and the famestar tickets introduced a little bit of storyline and characters to the item interaction. We plan to continue that trend so that RIGs are not *just* about prizes, but the process is also fun. Edit: oh yeah, and we do plan to repeat items from RIGs. i.e. some of the items from previous RIGs could be in the next one, or put into bundles, or other ways of being distributed, as long as we have some control over the quantitiy and rarity of the items. From here. I really don't see how Gaia can keep insisting that these level RIGs are fun and enjoyed by a majority of the members. Out of all the threads last night in the SF raging over this new RIG, there were: -maybe two or three members who made it known that they like RIGs -several more who didn't mind buying one or two but eventually gave up because the odds are skewed horribly -a TON of members complaining and swearing not to buy a single one. And yes, there's always the silent majority who could go either way, but when the SF is filled with seven or eight complaining threads before the RIG is even released, then I think Gaia really needs to step back and look at the complaints. And honestly, we keep hearing that RIGs bring in more money than straight release of items, but have they ever released a bunch of much wanted items (of RIG quality) into the CS before? No, they haven't, and until they try a test like that then I don't think they can go around making that claim. Oh, and "the RIGs also let us put out items that are designed to be extremely rare (and therefore extremely valuable)."? So much for not messing with the marketplace Gaia. Way to go back on your word AGAIN. stare ********, I bet those Starfleet uniforms, the wink, and the Sailor Moon hair are going to be the super rare, less-than-100-items-released prizes.

Besides the fact Gaia basically taken the otaku's request in the SF for anime items that they have wanted for so long now. Especially the wink. For anybody don't want to give that much money just for that one specific item in the RIG unless they are super rich. What I found aggravated is this:
Quote: Each Gee Boi Turbo comes with Kuro's Conventure, a game where you guide two dark elves on a quest to meet their favorite artists at an anime convention. The further you get, the better your reward. Make it to the save point, rare events, and victory to score the best prizes. If you quit anywhere else, your prize won't be as good. It's been how long since a new game has come out but this time if you paid for the RIG apparently. You get to play a game? How do I feel about this? Peachy Gaia, just peachy.

Dammit, now I'm mad all over again.
We have TOS Starfleet uniforms and TNG wigs? If those are ******** AI'd I'm going to break something.
EDIT: Oh, but apparently that isn't enough. There's also Spock's ears, TOS wigs, and Klingon wigs. And Star Trek guns.

They have recolored cat ear/tail sets as well. That cost a fortune of course. I couldn't afford that demon cat, and I still can't afford these....--; Is it really a game? If it is, it wouldn't be so bad. Still terrible, but if it's based on more than luck...Might be slightly worth it. Their description for all the RIGs is confusing.

Oh what the hell another RIG? I'm really sick of these... Ever wonder if what a staff member says came right out of their a**? Pirula's words musta been stuff right next to the stick up there that her and other staff members refuse to pull out so they can see that users are getting sick of constant RIGs and that a normal cash shop update aside from an EI and event items wouldn't hurt. 'Cause trust me, if staff doing that once in a while would make them go bankrupt, we'd ********' know about it.

At least it's not expensive, I just looked at the price. $1.50... but I'm still not spending one cent on it. I used my free GC to buy zOMG stuff. >.>

What also annoys me is how they market it as a game.
And, just fyi, a game involves more than clicking a button and hoping that you get to the next level.

A 50 cent RIG is still expensive. Odds are you're not getting the item you want 1st try. And it's a level based "game" RIG so it costs even more than what a normal RIG costs. Money hungry Gaia likes showing they're money hungry.

I got to the second screen before failing, and all I got was a Red Starfleet shirt (like 4k in the MP or something).

.... RAEG. That's all I can say. And Quit it, Firefox, I know I spelled the ******** word wrong. Here I was, thinking "Hey, maybe they'll listen to all of the people in SF who kept saying "Give it a bit, you're flooding us". Here I though, after the release of the interesting little items in the CS, that they'd honestly listen to us and start giving us items in the CS. I really did. Gaia at least SEEMED to be listening, and giving their users a bit of time. Wrong. Once again, my faith has been shattered in the messiest of ways. Especially after I starts seeing all of those items. Bleach masks? Oh god. I know the Bleach-tards are going to go ******** over those. Star Trek uniforms? Wow... Again, a much requested items. the ******** WINK!? the chaingun? The chainblade? hoe-lee s**t. So many goddamn anime-based items. Oh, but I guess they figured out which is more valuable, CS releases or RIGs, from floating goldfish and suns with unicorns. compared to Bleach masks and the Wink. I'm so angry right now with this site... I want to say I was willing to quit. I really do. But regardless, with the items I have, I can still put up a fight against other avatars. *grumble* And then on the note of it being an RIG, It irritates me further that they're doing the level "game" crap again. Oops, game over. *Super Mario Game Over music*.... ********. There went 1.50. *pant pant* Maybe I'm being a bit too vulgar about this. Maybe it's not a big deal. But I spotted at least 7 wanted items in that announcement, and that was just from glancing over it. I want to go into the SF and just scream ******** YOU GAIA like a n00b. ~_~

We can complain all we want, but if they see the complainers picking up anything related to these RIGs they're gonna see it as "it's not as bad as we're saying" in addition to "aw, ******** the users. who cares about them." gonk @Yamato1: What makes it all the worse is they did a very nice update before it. Oh and, ever item in there has been heavily requested by users. Some for years. Oh oh oh, and then the staff member saying, "We're making it rare on purpose." Clicking a button is not worth being granted an item of status! Buying Cash items deserves more of a status than that! *bitchsmacks Pirula* I swear they're suffering from major ignorance-itis or something. Lol, you shoulda signed on earlier. The thread was recycle-binned. Then the RIG supporters went "******** yeah! s**t's right where it belongs!" >.<

this one. There's quite a few others. I'm adoring the one when the user said something along the lines of "I hope you drown in your bills and choke on some pennies." Problem is, the people who are complaining are not only picking up the RIG to see what it's like, but they're also buying the items that come out of it. In the end it winds up looking like people aren't as mad about the deal as they say they are.
