Gabriel and nodded and slipped behind the door. If he were human he'd be out of breath by now.

He'd already been enough of a target for the DPC androids by his uniform alone. Now they actually had a reason to single him out.

His uniform was simple to say the least. The black cargo pants, belt, and blaster holster that were standard for any humanoid in the force, and the letters IP-1 painted in white on his chest and back.

He slipped his blaster back into the holster and slid down, sitting against the wall. "I've been trying to pick them off quietly for so long..." he looked up at Conner, "But I think that android got a good view of my face before it keeled over. They've probably already got my picture in their database," he cursed, "great..."

Conner's full-body, perfectly white jumpsuit did not typically allow her to blend in, either. Her silver-white hair and near-human appearances allowed her to be conspicuous all the time as well.

"Well," she said shortly, examining the door that had just locked, "if that's the case, they'll probably be through this door in two. Stay with me, Gabe, and I might be able to erase your face. Maybe," she said apprehensively. But the main point was that they needed to move. Behind the sealed door was a maze of an engine room, with pipes, gears, moving machinery parts, and similar apparatus performing various tasks everywhere. It was loud and stinky--an easy place to get lost (or injured) in.

"By the way, I'm Conner, dunno if you already knew that or not," she said. "We should get moving." Then Conner proceeded to slip through areas of piping and engine. If Gabriel found himself too big to follow (for Conner was a slim gal) then he would simply need to improvise his own way through. Conner wasn't trying to lose him, but the nature of their situation meant it might happen anyway.

Gabriel nodded and followed as closely as possible. Occasionally he needed to bend the pipes out of the way. "I know who you are... never thought I'd really meet you in person though. You're famous among the police,"

Meanwhile, in the storage facility of the cruise ship Hermes.

"I'm not going to ask this again," Col paced around the various storage containers, the over sized jacket flowing behind her like a cape. Her hostages sat on the floor quivering.

A man. A woman. Two boys. One eight, the other twelve.

"I-- I don't know what you're talking about, please just let u-" the man shouted.

In a split second Col lunged forward, pressing the barrel of her gun inside the man's mouth while he was shouting. "I'm not talking to you, idiot! You're just a politician... what could you possibly know about Pitch... You, however," Col looked over at the woman.

"I won't let you use the research we have... Pitch is too dangerous you can't have it!" the woman screamed, "But please don't hurt my husba-"

A massive crack cut the woman off. It echoed through the facility. The man's head was gone. A cauterized stump of a neck sizzled somewhat from the heat of her blaster as Col stood up, wiping some of the blood from her face.

The body fell to it's side.

Col smirked, staring down at the woman, stained in her husbands own blood.

"Whoops," Col began, "Now... you start talking or-" She grabbed the twelve year old, hoisting him up by the neck and and holding him in front of his mother, "This one will meet the same fate. But not as quickly," Col pressed the barrel of her gun against the child's kneecap. "I'll blast off every one of his limbs," Col looked at the boys face, "Now, I need you to get mommy to start talking, okay?" she said in an unnatural sing-song tone.

The boy stared at his mother, eyes wide.

"I'm sorry Jacob... be strong... I can't let her-" the woman spoke to her son, sobbing between each word.

There was another loud crash as Col pulled the trigger again.

Kajin sighed deeply as she grabbed another beer and heaed over to DPC officer. The usual customers that watched her go back to him wanted to pull her away but knew they couldn't. Kajin reached the pffice and after setting the beer down she took her seat. With that the officer wrapped his right arm around her and began to drink. "Imjhap eianfdjo eiapojd ueoadn adeap iphs. Haoo bafi hafja upapgap ookha itha (Why are you trying to stay away. You know I don't like it)." Kajin holds back a sigh and places her hand on his shoulder. "Of course I apologize."

Conner seemed to be unaware that she was famous. Did that mean that, among the 'Cure' android army, she was... infamous? "Well, gee, thanks," the girl said, and one might think she was going to blush, but... apparently not. Conner had to contort her body slightly to fit through this last set of pipes, bending over backward to nearly touch the floor with her forehead and/or nose, before squeezing through the space and falling into a stumbling walk. When she recovered her balance, Conner stood close to what appeared to be a wall, but on closer inspection would actually be discovered to be a large metal door. It just happened to be metal, and, what do you know, they wall happened to be made of... metal, too. Go figure.

Conner waited for Gabriel to arrive, telling him once the cyborg-looking man did come that they were directly inside the wall of a large underground pub. Once lost inside this pub, she continued to say, they would be almost untraceable. On the other hand, it became extremely easy to become lost.

"I know a guy," Conner was saying. "He cleans the incinerator room. Came to me two days ago and told me he had found something, something big. You know what he'd found?" she asked, turning to gaze into where she assumed Gabriel's eyes were. "It was a body."

There was nothing special about a body being tossed down the incinerator. This was done all the time. "Thing was," Conner continued, "this body had something very... interesting," she said, "on it. Something the Resist- Police should see."

Apparently, it was something that hadn't burned.

((I'll probably make something up, but if you have an idea about what this could be, just PM me. I'm thinking of introducing plot here. Maybe the dead guy was smuggling something--but they didn't find the valuables when they killed him? And now Gabriel has to help get the item to some underground allies across the station? Just a possibility.))

((Also, the original idea was for them to be outside Kajin's bar, but I read back... that's underground, isn't it? As in, not on the Icarus. Hm.))

Carron hit the ground with a loud thud and quickly crawls away. Near plant he started to mash together parts to see what they do and built a some shoulder pads and knee pads. He started to walk back to the city.

((It's in Icarus, I used under ground metaphorically. Example would be when I said underground I met that it was well hidden and not in an area where you would easily find it.))

Kajin felt more relief when the slime ball (in more then one way) got up to leave after only feeling her up a little bit. As the DPC officer left Kajin headed behind the bar and took a quick straight shot of something at random. "You know Kajin, you shouldn't be doing that." Kajin sighs as she look over at one of her regulars, a four armed, green, alien known as Guroet. "I know, but if I don't he'll shut me down. There are families with children living in the back. I have to keep them safe."

Wot?))

Gabriel grunted somewhat as he bent a final pipe out of his way to get through. It hissed in protest, and ruptured shortly after, sending a cloud of steam towards his face. He marched through, wiping the lenses that were his eyes as he cleared the cloud. "Do tell... what was this thing?" he crossed his arms over his chest, talking to Conner like a child who just told him there were monsters under the bed.

Conner apparently was not appreciative of Gabriel's tone. "It was a memory chip," she said flatly, eyes not exactly glaring but staring at Gabriel with a type of incredulous indifference, if you can imagine such a strange, semi-gaping combination of expressions.

"A memory chip apparently containing a record of all android deployment records--numbers, equipment, OSS-level, energy levels--the like." Such a find was very... unlikely. But if it were true, the help it would provide to the anti-Cure policemen organization--would be tremendous.

"Thing is, Gabriel, he couldn't remove it. So, that leaves a unique problem for you and me."

Conner placed a hand on the wall, feeling around for a hidden opening of some sort. Her eyes were still staring, rather creepily, at Gabriel, not in any malicious or spiteful gaze, but in a weird, emotion-less monotone. "For anyone else, getting down to the Incinerator without proper clearance is impossible. For me, it's easy. But I can't fight. So, Gabriel--" and at this, Conner cracked open the door, letting a strand of light and sound flood in, nearly masking her next words entirely, "--can I count on you to protect me in order to get that device?"

((Plo-ot. And KurimusonChishio, do you want Kajin to know Conner? I'm not sure what their relationship would be, but it would get you interaction.))

Gabriel listened to the story intently. There were always rumors of such devices. Libraries of enemy intelligence just waiting to be grasped. Everything in his circuitry told him to disregard everything the woman had said... but something intrigued him, "You're asking a lot of a stranger aren't you?" Gabriel chuckled somewhat, but the woman's tone sobered his own. He bowed somewhat... perhaps an overly-formal action, "You can". He took a step towards the female, grabbing her wrist and pulling her close so as to hear him better, "But listen... urban myths about these types of things always surface now and then. Are you really prepared to risk your safety?" he asked seriously. A test of her will... or perhaps his own.

Although she needn't inform Gabriel of her certainty and her reasons, Conner was deeply integrated into the System, as it were, the intense inner workings that had to go on in order for life to continue. The System was everything--economic market, military campaigns, payrolls, market dealing, black market dealing, simple bartering for food, begging--it was intangible and uncontrolled by any one person. It was simply life, and as it existed inside of the Icarus, Conner understood that. She was a technological being in the sense that she herself was so fully integrated in information that to use a computer, fix a coffee machine, or reprogram an android was second nature to her. She understood all things mechanical--not just electronics. She had reason to believe in the authenticity of her claim, but could not explain these reasons to Gabriel, who was simply an underground policeman, even if with a good heart.

"I'm positive," she said. No one person was worth saving over the success of the entire Icarus effort of salvation. Conner deemed herself as subject to this rule, as she assumed Gabriel was.

Basically, she was willing to sacrifice herself--or Gabriel--to make sure that memory card, which had been assumed burned by the androids, reached the... the head of the underground police.
