Making sure his hands were properly back in his sleeves, he allowed her to look about as she pleased. He had been rather happy when he had first been brought to Homegrounds after meeting Akiya. This place.. it almost felt like the home he had left behind so he was able to settle there a lot better than somewhere else.
His ears flicked when he heard the sounds of the omundga following them and Onion huffing to try to keep up. Since he really didn't have much to say at the moment, they just kept walking, until a faint sound was heard. Though it didn't stay faint for long. There were a couple of tropical spots in homegrounds but they were only arond the many waterfalls that dotted the landscape. Maybe she would like something like that.. in all truths, he didn't know.

She didn't say anything more as he headed off, her chest hurting in a way that she just couldn't explain. Trying not to hiccup as tears slipped down her cheeks, she kept her back to him the entire time. Oh right, like she could fly! She couldn't even float properly! Falling down rather ungracefully, she tucked her knees to her chest and sobbed silently, her familiars coming out of their hiding to try to comfort her. They didn't understand why she was so upset, but they didn't like seeing her like this.
If Koni saw her tears, he would go ballistic. It took a good five minutes before she managed to calm herself and lift her head, her cheeks a puffy red color. Taking off her headdress because she was about to clean and didn't like it being knocked off, she put it on its little pillow as she forced herself to her feet. "....." Rubbing at her eyes, she started picking up her clothing, trying to do something to keep her mind off the rather... well she couldn't even say it was a good visit, now could she?... but her dance steps were seriously lagging. She just couldn't dance while she was depressed.
But.. she still was going to try to go to this festival thing. Whether she wanted to see aversham or not was something else. Right now, she wasn't sure if she should be mad at him for attacking Koni or just stay depressed in general. her emotions were a wreck.. but she had to hide that before Koni came. She was sick of their fights about Aversham and this would just give him more fuel for his fire.

Waterfalls were something she liked, Shoichi had many in the zen gardens that took pride of place in many Okiya's, tea houses and the forbidden city in which she had had the priviledge of entering only once. She hadn't stayed long but the ornate gardens had made a lasting impression and the serene air that they gave off was something she found pleasurable.
"Thank you, by the way." She added at last, lifting her gaze slightly as she heard the loud call of Aversham from within the forest. In fact, it was as she gazed up through the canopy that she caught sight of his irridescent feathers and smiled - all in all he seemed to have excused himself and had now taken up residence in the air for the time being so Koniryu could now feel free to pick up his over-protected daughter.
...Although the stiff manner in which the fire bird soared through the air was something to be concerned about.

His lips pursed a bit more but he only shook his head, not saying anything til they reached the waterfall and the grounds around it. It was truly impossible to tell where the water source for it came from, but water crashed down into a large pond nevertheless, large lily-pads floating merrily along the surface. Akiya had a thing for waterfalls and if he was ever upset, he could be found at one. Though which one was the hardest choice.
When he heard the sounds of Aversham calling for Hayaharu, he looked up at the sky. So he had parted her company, hmm? Finally, he turned and looked at Hayaharu, his face rather calm. "No one knows how to get here... so Reika never gets visitors. It's rather tiresome to have to trek back and forth to make sure she gets to see her own kind... so it isn't a bad thing for her to have someone here every now and then." A light shrug was given. "Even if it's that confounded bird." He then headed back towards the gardens to get Reika. "Ye can stay as long as ye wish. I need to collect Reika. If ye wish to return, ye can stop by the house or if ye get hungry. Either way..."
But he had the feeling something was wrong with her.. and his ears were flat against his head in irritation but he said nothing about it. He had, after all, made a promise to Reika. He would attempt to not fly off the handle each time that bird was around.

"I really cannot see what you see that is so bad," Hayaharu murmured softly as she approached the waterfall and lowered herself to her knees, calmly lifting Onion onto one of the rocks away from the Omungda as she set the Kozuura down beside him - both seemed content when this was done and she was finally able to admire her surroundings - it really was a very beautiful place.
"Thank you, once again...this place is beautiful." She added as she glanced over her shoulder before turning her gaze towards the falls again as Aversham descended through the canopy and swooped down onto another rock nearby the pool with a flurry of bright feathers and colour, even so, his demeanor was a lot colder than usual.
"Are you alright, Aversham."
"Oh yes," The bird replied stiffly as he glanced at his reflection critically, "I am superb; can we go?"
"Oh..." Hayaharu murmured, clearly disappointed as she'd only just gotten there.

When he got to the fort, the vibes of wrongness were only stronger than ever. Sighing heavily and working hard to not just storm back and kill that stupid bird, he opened the door and knelt down to open it. "Reika?" He could hear her attempts at sniffling and he sighed heavily. "Come on, lovely.. it's time to go home."
After some time, a very sullen Reika came out with her familiar in tow. A frown appeared on his face when he noticed that she was without her head dress. Had she been cleaning? But when she lifted her arms to him, he took them all up easily and kissed the top of her head. She had cried.. he knew because she was doing her best to hide her face from him, but her red cheeks were impossible to miss. As they headed back for home, he heard her mumble something and he paused again. "Excuse me?"
".......... Can we go somewhere?" Her voice was tiny and so she had to be brought closer to him. "..... I wanna go out...."
"Why?"
"There is something fun happening... can we go? Please?" She looked up at him finally. "I wanna see it... if nothing else."
He had the feeling this festival thing she was now talking about was brought up by Aversham, but usually she'd be a lot happier about it. ".... will it make ye happy to go?"
"I just.. wanna see what it is... please?"
It took a bit before Koni nodded as they stepped into the house. "Where is it being held at?" If it could possibly get her to smile and be a bit happy, he'd take her. And thankfully, he didn't ask her what happened, as he normally would have. He had the worst feeling she would just start crying again.

"So, are you going to tell me what is troubling you?" Hayaharu enquired as she navigated her way back down the pathway with the Omungda in her grasp and Onion sat on top of it, Aversham had taken to perching on her shoulder as he usually did nowadays.
"I would rather not." Aversham responded although he now appeared to be more tired and weathered than he did angry.
"Trials of the heart?" Hayaharu insisted, making her way from the Homegrounds at a leisurely pace, mentally planning her outfit for the festival as she tried to console her otherwise perturbed companion - he was one of the few she aws truely concerned about.
"Something like that." He responded and nuzzled her temple lightly, "In the words of Lady Epee, it sucks when you can't have something you want." He muttered and clicked his beak, feeling slightly better as Hayaharu seemed to nod in agreement.
