Blasphemy, machines are not of Lolth!!

Really? You obviously haven't read the module (and later a fun novel) Queen of the Demon Web Pits. Lolth had a gigantic, steam powered spider fortress.

That seems weird for the queen, but that is a book I havent picked up yet

It is part of a hilarious and interesting three book series starting with:

1: White Plume Mountain (introduce the characters)
http://www.amazon.com/White-Plume-Mountain-Greyhawk-Novels/dp/0786914246

2: Descent into the Depths of the Earth (P.O. Lolth)

3: Queen of the Demonweb Pits (Lolth tries to get revenge)
http://www.amazon.com/Descent-Depths-Earth-Greyhawk-Novels/dp/0786916354/ref=pd_sim_b_1/191-5597322-2668751

All are based on classic 1st Edition D&D modules and set in the realm of Greyhawk.

Spirit of the Century's kickass, and the FATE system is incredibly awesome and simple. I'd love to implement it into my RP guild.

BTE, you're an awesome mini painter, Dixie.
HOMG HOMG!

You're now incredibly awesome. What kinda charachter are you playing? Setting? OMG, we should start a SotC guild on Gaia (even though I'm still learning...)

SoTC? what are you talking about a steampunk D&D guild?

here's my advice if you're looking to host a RP session with your friends. D&D is fun, but it takes a long time to mod or even set up a normal game. Save yourself some heartache and headaches trying to figure out all the rules to a D&D campaign and find a simpler system like the tri-stat system. Unless you have no life whatsoever, no homework, no obligations, etc Leave D&D alone.

you can accomplish what you're looking for in simpler systems much faster, and still have the same setting and character classes and such.

anyway, it sounds like a fun idea and good luck.

@ Raziel: I'm still reading the book. It's pretty damn long, but what I've read I like a lot. Very simple game.

@ Freedom: SotC=Spirit of the Century, a P&P game based on the FATE system, which is totally different and more simple than the d20 system WotC employs in their games.
