Hmmm, I'll have to think about. My guitarist buddy messed with his pickups, and now they sound all goofy.

i play a dean bass (dunno which model) but it's pretty durable, i've accidentally knocked it down and i didn't find even the tiniest dink on it...it's got a little buzz down on the bottom string but overall, it's prtty good...i think the buzz might be from the amp, when my parents bought me a bass, they bought me a guitar practice amp... scream

I think a set of stainless steel round wound strings (particularly RotoSound Swing) would work pretty well for you. Though personally, I generally just buy cheap discounted strings for my bass or if I have an important gig, I generally buy a set of fender super bass strings.

Pending on how much (time and volume) youve played it, you could mess up the amp. Im too lazy to go through the drawn out details... but id recommend either getting a bass amp or a guitar. whee

So now it sounds really funky.

Well, I'm looking into getting a new bass, preferably a 5-string, for under $200-ish. Yes, I'm a 13 year old kid without a job and my only source of income is my meager $20 a week allowance that I usually don't even get paid. gonk
Anyhoo, any suggestions? Anybody? gonk

Aah. I was looking through my SamAsh.com catalog and found a Brownsville 5-String Bass for $150 USD. I'm just wondering about construction, playability, etc, seeing as I've never had, or even played for that matter, a Brownsville bass or guitar. Anyone who has, could you give me some pros/cons?
