Why Do You Play? [Discussion Thread][GMA]

I play for the mental pictures of it. I love imagining how the duels play out between players, and if I had better skill at writing, I'd probobly compose a blog or something like that to demonstrate my talents, but I dont consider myself all that skilled in the literary arts yet.

That, and the game itself is just fun ^.^

I play for the social experience. I would describe it like World of Warcraft but you get to see the other people and actually talk to them.

i play for the social and mental exp that it gives me. for releasing stress after work and after school.

... I haven't played a game of MTG in like a month... & haven't played competitively since.. 2011 core set? xD wow.

I've lost my spark for MTG... guess, it's the idiot local players that suck the fun out of both playing & collecting.

i play cause i enjoy the strategic playing and the art, i would say deck building, but i get bored of it sometimes

I play because it's fun, and get to play with friends, or make new ones. 3nodding i like the art too.

I play because it is one of the best table tops I have ever enjoyed. The rules can get confusing to some but that is the beauty of it as well. The card art is astonishing as well as some of the more advanced mechanics.

I hated Yu Gi Oh and I barely played pokemon.

I liked it cause my husband introduced it to me, and I also liked the art work. Once I started to play casually it just got really fun and I wanted to continue to play.

I play casually to spend time and talk with friends. I sometimes play for the competitive edge, but I always lose if I take it too seriously. sweatdrop

I like to challenge myself, if I continue playing stronger people bit by bit I increase my ability to play. And my deck building skills are greatly increased also.

In the end of it, I'm a deck-builder.
I like to test out strange ideas, and see how those pan out.
MTG has enough cards to keep me doing this for quite awhile.
