This is a recipe from Mario Batali's Kitchen which I made for my family last Christmas. It was such a wonderful dish, very festive and appropriate for the occasion. The colors are wonderful and very appetizing. I'm posting it in advance because I never know when I'll be able to sneak in next.^^
Cannelloni al Forno Ingredients • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter • 8 ounces ground pork • 8 ounces ground veal • ¾ cups freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour • 1 cup whole milk • 1 large egg, beaten • Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg • salt and freshly ground black pepper • 1¼ pounds basic pasta dough • 1 cup basic tomato sauce • 1 cup besciamella
Preparations • 1. In a 10- to 12-inch sauté pan, heat 1 tablespoon of the butter over high heat until it foams and subsides. Add the ground pork and veal and cook, stirring occasionally and breaking up any lumps of meat, until browned. Drain off the excess fat , then add ½ cup of the Parmigiano, the flour, and milk and bring to just under a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from the heat and allow the filling to cool. Stir in the egg and season with the nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Set aside. • 2. Bring 6 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot, and add 2 tablespoons salt. Set up an ice bath next to the stove. • 3. Divide the pasta dough into 4 pieces. Roll each one through the thinnest setting on a pasta machine and lay the sheets on a lightly floured work surface. Cut the pasta into 4 by 6-inch rectangles. Drop the pasta rectangles into the boiling water, 5 or 6 at a time, and cook until tender, about 1 minute. Transfer to the ice bath to cool for 1 minute, then drain on kitchen towels, laying the rectangles flat. • 4. Preheat the oven to 350°F. • 5. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the meat filling just above one long edge of each rectangle, and roll the pasta up around the filling to form a cylinder. • 6. Spoon half the tomato sauce across the bottom of a large baking dish in an even layer. Arrange the cannelloni seam side down in the dish in a single layer. Top with the remaining tomato sauce, then the besciamella. Sprinkle with the remaining ¼ cup Parmigiano. • 7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the sauces and cheese are bubbling and the edges of the pasta are crisp and browned. Serve immediately, from the baking dish. Makes 4 servings
@soakinwet, I'm going to try that Banana Foster of yours at least once in my lifetime lol. I wish it'd be soon! It sounds yummy!^^ Thanks for sharing!

So I am about to make a Coconut Loaf just because....Before I try making this I wanted to post the recipe that I have found since it sounds soooo Yummy and I am a HUGE Coconut lover!! Any tropical fruit just sends my taste buds to paradise! The original recipe calls for regular milk but Im going to UP the coconut flavor and use some canned coconut milk!! Here we go 4laugh
Coconut Loaf Yield: 1 loaf (16 servings)
1/2 cup Butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp Vanilla extract 2 cups all purpose flour 2 tsp baking POWDER 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 Coconut milk (or u can still use regular milk) 1-1/4 cup flaked coconut *In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.Stir in coconut. *Pour into a greased 9-in.x 5-in.x3in. loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
Hmm...this sounds like it would be veeeery tastey with a cup of tea!

Smoked Salmon Aera in Avocado style A few Smoked salmon pieces Avocado "quenels" Lime Pepper Salt from "guérande" Paprika Coriander Toscan Olive oil Take a plate. put alternatively a piece of salmon and avocado side by side making a sort of a star all around the plate. Olive oil on top, pepper, a bit of paprika on top for the color, some bits of salt, a few bits of fresh coriander leaves and finish by the juice of a lime. Put in the fridge for 20 minute ... Must best served real cool ... Easy byt efficient and people will feel like jet setters when eating that. Bon Appétit (Noch, 2 Ps on appétit, my friend ... lol ... very very nice idea !)

sorry. i've been lurking. may i? this is one we've been using for the past few years, if you want something with pumpkin. i did get this one off allrecipes.com, but it's a lot like what i do (i don't always use a recipe). mine would have a lot of strange alterations for allergies, anyway.
Pumpkin Stew
Ingredients
* 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes * 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided * 1 cup water * 3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed * 4 carrots, sliced * 1 large green bell pepper, chopped * 4 cloves garlic, minced * 1 onion, chopped * 2 teaspoons salt * 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper * 1 (14.5 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, chopped * 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules * 1 sugar pumpkin
Directions
1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Place beef in the saucepan and cook until evenly brown. Mix in the water, potatoes, carrots, green bell pepper, garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer approximately 2 hours. 2. Dissolve the bouillon into the beef mixture. Stir in the tomatoes. 3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). 4. Cut top off the pumpkin and remove seeds and pulp. Place the pumpkin in a heavy baking pan. Fill the pumpkin with the beef mixture. Brush outside of the pumpkin with remaining oil. 5. Bake in the preheated oven 2 hours, or until tender. Serve the stew from the pumpkin, scraping out some of the pumpkin meat with each serving.

Veggie Lo Mein with Tofu! You need: Package Lo Mein noodles Brocolli Carrots Celery Cabbage Onions Mushrooms Tofu Garlic Veggie Broth Oil Oregano Basil Garlic Salt Black Pepper Cayenne Pepper First! Boil a big ol' pot of water; while that is getting ready wash up the veggies and cut them into medium sized pieces. Steam them for about 10 minutes, or until almost cooked thoroughly. While the veggies are steaming, grab a pan and bless upon it mass amounts of delicious oil (I usually use about 1/3 of a cup) then cut up your tofu to the desired size. (I usually do little squares!) Cover this concoction in spices, and minced garlic pieces! Start frying that baby up! By this time, if not a few minutes before, your water should be boiling; dump in those Lo Mein noodles and mix around for a bit. Then set the heat to a low simmer and let sit about 3-4 minutes or until noodles are soft! Then strain those babies and relocate them to a BIG pot! Keep frying that tofu and spices; add in more spice as needed, as you go! As soon as the veggies are at the desired steamed condition, just dump em straight into the frying pan and start mixing it in! Add about 4 Tbsp. of the water used to steam with, for a bit of extra flavor! Then add in about 1/4 cup of veggie broth for a bit of moisture and flavor! You can also add about 1/3 of a cup of veggie broth to the noodles, and about 2 Tbsp. oil so the noodles aren't so sticky! Stir the veggies and tofu for about 8-10 minutes, and then set on a low simmer with a lid for about 4 minutes. After that throw on a little extra spice, take it off the heat, and dump it all in with your noodles! Or keep them seperate if you like, and just serve the veggies and tofu atop the noodles! If the flavor isn't strong enough for you; I suggest either soy sauce or chili sauce, or both! >.< This recipe is delicious! It makes a ton! And most importantly it's cheap! xP

Has anyone tried making banana ice cream with bananas as the only ingredient? I haven't tried it yet but I just read an article that suggests you freeze bananas and then chop them up and whip them in a food processor. And that's it! I'm skeptical but the reviewers say it's good. I might have to get bananas next time I go to the store. http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/stay-cool/how-to-make-creamy-ice-cream-with-just-one-ingredient-093414 Edit: This turned out great! Better than expected. Also, here is a variation that Exxos suggests:
Exxos To make an awesome adult variant, for every three bananas, add a tablespoon of rum and a tablespoon of caramel sauce (the Hershey's crap in the squeezy bottle will even do) and blend it in. A little cinnamon and/or coconut on top with whipped cream, it's a culinary orgasm.
