a light at the end grew brighter and brighter, it then bloomed into a room, and it was filled with people and lights. a large stalactite hung from the ceiling like a chandelier, and it illuminated the room with fantastic light. the rest of the hall was lit by lanterns and glowing crystals. carved steps spiraled downward and upward to hundreds of holes and cubbys, some were living quarters others offices. on the floor below a large table was presented. the table was covered in papers and scrolls, ten people sat at the table, at the head of it was Ebony.
Sybil was smiling merrily and looked to Kaosti for his reaction.

Kaosti's pupils went from practically wide open to small little dots in the center of his deep maroon eyes. he clentched them tight and rubbed then, "Goodness it's bright in here!" he growled as he released his eyes and blinked a few more times, finally bringing everything into focus. "Woah... "
Kaosti stared in wonder at the massive underground cavern. when he had first thought of the princess's "Resistance" he had thought of a backwater hut with four or so people... however, if a girl can slip this under the kings nose... anything's possible.
"You have quite the organization here, Princess Sybil..." he coughed as he looked around at all the faces; some he was seeing for the first time, other he had noticed on the streets.

Sybil happy that he was so impressed with it, because it was impressive. the number of people she had recruited ballooned, her then idea was now a real resistance, and one with an army.
Eisley then came to greet them. "glad to see that your with us Kaosti, my real name is Eisley, welcome to our hideout." she then bowed to the princess and led them down the steps to Ebony's table.
He was going over the steps of Jabez's jail break, and he had finished it with a firing pep speech. Ebony was getting older, his hairline was showing gray and his horns weren't as polished as they used to be, but his were still as orange an piercing as they had ever been. when his eyes caught sight of Sybil he ran to her with open arms and scooped her up. "ah! my little niece!" although they were not related she considered him her uncle. Ebony was the only man Sybil knew who could go from dead serious war lord to obnoxious clown in a swift moment.
Ebony set her down and she kissed his cheek. "i would like you to meet the newest member of our group. this is Kaosti, he is a vampire and is posing as my boyfriend."
Ebony analyzed the boy, then smiled and said "I approve!" and shook Kaosti's hand. "so why have you decided to join us? bored at home? mad at your parents? do you want to take vengeance for your dead sibling?" Ebony was being silly again and his voice mounted as he went on.

"Eh... I walked her home, and took the blame for your escape..." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled, "I never really joined... i was just kinda forced into it." Kaosti took his hand back from Ebony and watched him continuing to list reasons as to why he would join.
"So.... Is he always like this?" he asked Sybil.

Sybil smile and shrugged.
"well im glad you were there to get her out of a tight situation. your a good man." Ebony said to him. then paused as if he wanted to say something but had nothing. "well! lets go eat!" he announced.
Sybil took Kaosti's hand and walked with him to the mess hall. "hes just really happy to be out. and hes looking forward to seeing grandfather again."
Sybil said to him.
the mess hall resembled a hall, a wide one. it was filled with people and hardy food. everyone sat at four long tables and men and women were running about refilling drinks and plates. Ebony made room for them in the middle of one of the tables. "its like a buffet in the table, just take what you want." he told them, as he himself dug into the mashed potatoes, meat, and vegetables.

Kaosti slipped some fruit on his plate and was content with just that, but looked around at the people he was with, 'all of these people... filled with hate toward one man; yet here they are, enjoying a meal, and smiling, laughing.... it's weird how something like this can happen. Maybe hate isn't as bad as grandfather says it is... '

Sybil placed a turkey leg,mashed potatoes and apple sauce on her plate. "tomorrow night is the trigger, once Jabez is out, everything will fall into place. I have been writing him letters in code that inform him of our plan." Sybil smiled to herself as she went over her plot in her head.
"well, do you have any questions about us?" she asked him

He finished the fruit and wiped his mouth, "So, what am I supposed to do?"he asked while returning his napkin to his lap and sipping on small glass of orange juice he had poured.

the next evening, ebony rounded up everyone and their small dog and charged the prison, the guards were so overwhelmed that they didnt even resist. Jabez was free, and without any casualties. ;] the resistance then imediatley charged the castle to take down Judas. they found him cowering in his cell. because he now realized that his power relied on the ppl and there were no ppl there to support him so he sobbed at his weakness and cried forgiveness. Sybil accused him of killing her mother and Sybil thew Jabez's javelin through his achy breaky heart. she stood over his lifless body in triumph and snatched the crown and placed it attop her head. "I am now queen!" she announced, and the ppl cheered! (ta-da!)

Kaosti smiled at the celebration, but couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the pathetic king's fate. He was so powerful and yet he fell to his knees in fear so easily... he didn't even fight. Exile might have been a better fate for the man, but I suppose in a world as cruel as this... It's survival of the fittest; and he just didn't fit the bill.
As the celebration flooded into the streets, Kaosti left to the woods for a quiet place to think of all the events that had unfolded before him.
He had just been at supper when it was announced that they were to regroup and train for a month before they stormed the jail to release Jabez, Sybil's Grandfather. The attack was successful, and despite our exhaustion from training, Jabez was insistent on attacking the castle within the next week.
And sure enough it worked. Everyone was free of Judas's clutches, and Sybil had become the new ruler of the land Enthelda. Kaosti sighed heavily and closed his eyes for one second.... and fell asleep in the shade of a tree.

Sybil found kaosti under a tree and she smiled to herself a little. she plopped on the grass next to him and watched him silently for a bit.

Kaosti's eyes fluttered open as he felt someone rest beside him, "oh, I must have dozed off..." He kissed the top of her head and stood to bow to her, "Congratulations your highness. It was a great honor to serve as your pretend boyfriend."

Sybil laughed "you dont have to address my like that, i consider you my friend and friends call each other my their first names." she smiled at him then asked, "what will you do now?"

Kaosti laughed and collapsed in his spot again, "Probably go visit my parents, and grandpa... then come back here and wonder the streets trying to find what it is that draws me here..." looking over at the woman next to him smiled and thought, 'Though i already know what it is...'
Moments later he felt this nagging feeling at the back of his mind that he needed to return home, now. With a soft smile he kissed Sybil's cheek and stood up, "It seems that family calls... I'll return soon." he waved and disappeared into the woods.
