I have a wired connection because I have a lot of computers that already have wireless connections so its easier to keep the PS3 connected for me. on my first PS3 I did have a wireless connection and I still thought it worked okay though.

I've just gone from a wireless connection, to a wired one and I've noticed a massive difference.

if you can do wired do wired but if not go wireless
wired is better but you can set up a wireless to be the same as wired if you know what your doing like my wireless connection run at 100% speed all the time and has a download speed of 1mbps

On my housemates PS3, we're on a wireless connection. Though when I get my own console (hopefully the Slim), I'll hook it up to a wired connection, even if it means nailing 20 metres of cabling to the skirting board.. razz

I use both, it depends on where i am playing in my house. If I am playing in my room then it is wireless, if I am playing in my living room then it is wired XD both settings work great for me, i think it really depends on what kind of Internet service you are using. If you are have a hard line like cable then it should be cool, but if your internet is coming from a satellite connection then you may run into some problems on a cloudy/rainy day.

The wireless download speeds are also going to be significantly less than a wire connection, as wireless routes transmit data at a much lower rate than say a copper cable or optic fibres, regardless of connection speed.

I have a Wireless connection it works well enough for the standard stuff, online play, connecting to psn, even netflix. Streaming media on the other hand was a lot faster with the wired connection.

I've tried my PS3 on both a wired and wireless connection and there honestly wasn't too much of a difference. Probably because the Router is about 4 feet from the PS3 though, so I just go wireless.
