His head snapped up, and he looked at her with wide eyes. Was she... could she be... but he was old and broken down, without a herd and with nothing to offer. "No. She is not my mare... I have a feeling she belongs to the young buck, as much as he denies having any females." He hesitated a moment, then looked off, into the trees.
"I... when he comes back, if he comes back... I don't want to be here." he told her quietly. The other stallion had humiliated him, and in front of so many females. "If you would like, you may walk with me. Perhaps we can find a different patch of berries to sample." With that, not waiting for her to answer, he started off. Half of him was sure she'd stay behind - she couldn't have meant what she said.

Alucard stepped back into the glade in quiet conversation with Khalidia, just as the other couple was heading out.
"You see, what I can't understand about his behaviour is... the greed. And the nerve. Why tell other Kirin to get off one patch of ground when there's enough to go round? ... Oh. He's gone."
Alucard came to an abrupt halt at the center of the glade... turning his head this way and that, he noticed Silvanus had left with the mare who had interfered, and there was something glowing amongst the trees.
Had that mare been there before, watching?
"Khalidia? Is she a friend of yours?"

Natsuhi watched silently as Khalidia chased after her friend, contemplative. She had never before had any friends, so she didn't completely understand the need for the mare to chase after him. He had only sustained fairly minor injuries after all and appeared fine otherwise. The navy mare then turned to watch silently as Gardenia tended to the other stallion's wounds. Even though they've just met they're acting so easy and familiar with each other, she noted to herself, a slightly bemused expression on her face. Is this how females of my kind are supposed to be? Caring and protective over a male, even if they barely know him? She puzzled over this to herself as the two walked off to another part of the wood.
After they were gone, Natsuhi noted that she was alone once more. Hmm, the story of my life, she thought to herself with a faint wry smile. Perhaps I will find myself a male someday. Someone to watch over and care for of my own. The mare was snapped out of her musings at the sound of Khalidia and Alucard's approach, and she turned her shining gaze back over onto the couple. "Evening," she greeted softly, slightly amused to find out that Alucard had completely failed to notice her before.

"Huh? Oh! Yes... she's Natsuhi! Isn't she pretty?" she asked Alucard, not caring that the mare would hear. "I wish I was as pretty, really... I thought she was a ghost at first though, because I was scared..." she trailed off a moment, then giggled and licked Alucard's cheek playfully before galloping over to the other female.
"Natsu, this is Alucard. He's my best friend ever... he made it safe for use to eat berries here, if you'd like to join us. And I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you then tagged along to our caves to sleep. They're very nice, and mostly dry, and safe too. It's getting very late, after all."

The glowy female cocked her head a bit as Khalidia called her 'pretty' and then admitted to thinking she was a ghost. Weren't those kind of contradictory? She chuckled inwardly at this. "Nice to meet you, Alucard," Natushi replied with a small bow. "And I appreciate your invite, Khalidia, but I wouldn't wish to impose." She smiled softly and gave the mare a light nudge. "And who said you weren't pretty?"

Alucard followed Khalidia slowly, and bowed as deeply back to Natsuhi as she had to him with a soft greeting before nibbling his best friend's neck.
"I think you're the prettiest mare I know," he whispered. "You'll always be special to me." And then, in a normal voice, he continued: "Khalidia is right, there's room to spare in the caves. Feel free to join us anytime, anywhere... any friend of Khalidia's I will consider my friend, too."

At first, Khalidia watched the two with a bit of a bemused expression - the bowing wasn't something she really understood. Should you do it when you first met another Kirin? If so, she owed several others a bow... but tracking them down - especially Tuyet - would be difficult, and anyway, if she tried to perform the gesture, she'd only fall over, and - oh.
Her eyes went wide and she very nearly squeaked when she felt Alu's nibble, and her knees did go slightly wobbly. She shot him a shy, wild-eyed look, then giggled and shifted to stand closer to him, practically glowing herself now. She was special. It was enough to warm her from the inside out, and her heart danced. "Yes... join us. It would be lovely." she murmured, sounding rather dreamy and slightly spacey. "I have to go eat now..." she added, then wandered off to nibble at the berries, feeling as if she floated instead of walking.

Natsuhi wavered a bit at there insistence. "Well, perhaps I'll stay one night," she said with a small smile. "It is starting to get rather late after all." Even as she said this she felt her fatigue starting to catch up with her. Sure, her late nap had sustained her this long, but she still wasn't exactly nocturnal. "Anyway, you two go ahead and enjoy your meal for now. I'll just hang around in the background like a ghost." She cracked a small smile at the joke, glancing over at Khalidia as she said it.

Ok... so maybe nibbling her neck wasn't a good idea smack after she'd watched him hunt. Alu watched Khalidia prance off with a worried look, hoping his fangs had already returned to normal as after each successful drawing.
She seemed happy enough, at least.
"Well... if you're sure you don't want to join us," he said to Natsuhi, a quick glance telling him she was tired. "If you want, you can head to the caves first. Tell Silarial you're a friend of ours, she'll understand."
He nodded in the direction she should take, grinning as he realised something. "She's... kind of hard to spot against the cave walls. Might want to call out for her."

Natsuhi cast Alucard a brief questioning gaze, but quickly shrugged it off, figuring he meant because it was dark inside the cave. "Very well then. Thank you guys again. Good night." With that she trotted off in the direction that the stallion had indicated, looking very much forward to getting some sleep.

"Night Natsu!" Khalidia called through a mouthful of berries, watching her new friend head off. She wouldn't stay long, the mare realized. She was like Tuyet, maybe, and didn't like to stay in one place. She found it strange, and couldn't imagine leaving the caves and forest she considered her home.
She especially couldn't imagine leaving Alu.
The mare shot him another shy look, then plucked a branch containing several bunches of ripe, juicy berries from a nearby bush. "Here." she mumbled around the twig, a slight blush rising. "I know you already... um... ate... but I interrupted. You should have some of these too, okay?" For a moment, the image of him feeding, blood on his muzzle, flashed into her mind, but she forced it back, willing herself only to see her much beloved friend.

Alucard needed blood, sure - but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the sweet tartness of summer berries. He opened a mouth that contained no canines to pull a bunch of them from the branch... only to find his pull was stronger than Khalidia's grip. It dangled awkwardly downwards for a second, then crashed to the ground except for the berries in his mouth, which he swallowed quickly.
"Oh, I'm a clumsy fool," he said as he bent to retrieve the branch.
((Head-collision tiem is now? 8D Also, how do you want to end this, they randomly gaze at each other Disney-lovers style as the camera zooms out from the berry glade? x'D
Also elf: Separate PRP where Natsuhi and Sil meet up, or would you rather not have it? They can talk about being preggors and the symptoms and Natsuhi finding out she might be eggnant etc. Throw me a PM if interested. :3))

"You're not a fool." she told him softly, eyes shining as she watched him. A small giggle escaped, and while his head was bent, she leaned forward and, mimicking his earlier gesture, nibbled his neck. "You're silly, but not a fool. Alu... you're very special to me too. I hope you know that. I mean, even with everything, you hiding things from me... you're the most important Kirin to me in the whole world. Nobody could ever take your place." That said, she backed up and watched him a bit nervously, hoping she hadn't said too much.
((No head bashing... she wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. But ooh, can there be violins as the camera zooms out? 8D))

Alucard pulled up, a lump in his throat. He should have never doubted Khalidia in the first place... They'd work this out, somehow. He was sure they would.
"Khalidia, I feel the same way, too. I love you." He stepped gently towards her and laid his neck against hers, an expression of his affection.
