... Setsushi admits that he cannot fathom the kind of pain Tenkyuu suffers now, and likewise the strength she needs to endure is beyond his understanding.
But, naive maiden though he is, he thinks that Tenkyuu ought to continue living, to relish each day and each opportunity to work and learn, as the woman whom Ryouga loved and worshipped. Her children are still unmarried and often in need of guidance, and her country is perhaps in need as well; she will endure for these things, won't she?
Setsushi would also grieve to see her go, he tells her with a soft, slightly pained expression.

Tenkyuu smiles faintly, shaking her head from side-to-side after her hand has left her heart. Tenkyuu will not die; she would never leave the world while she was still needed.
Tenkyuu pauses before extending her hand to lightly settle over Setsushi's own. "I must also apologize for my words," says Tenkyuu.
Those feelings had been building for a long time, and Tenkyuu is afraid she has no confidantes aside from Setsushi that she can share such information with. She did not mean to trouble Setsushi's already heavy heart.
She only needed to lighten her own. The elegant fingers that taught Setsushi how to string a bow pat his hand, lingering for a moment before withdrawing.
Tenkyuu thanks her son.

Setsushi does not mind listening; Tenkyuu can tell him any dirty, hateful, or sorrowful thing... but he will naturally be saddened and alarmed if it brings to mind the loss of his second mother. And he will feel angry and ineffectual at being unable to do anything about her loss and pain...
But he shrugs, sighing. "The Death always wins, eventually," he quotes the saying, and takes a sip of black goo.
... No sense in continuing this depressing conversation forever, though. Shall Setsushi perhaps read some Gaian literature aloud to Tenkyuu? He has obtained quite a few books that are supposed to be interesting and improving.
