"I've got 'er," came a subdued female voice. Lori and two other pilots came forward to take Ora, one offering to let her lean on his shoulder. Lori didn't even look at Xeen, pretending not to know him.
"If you need it, we can carry you to medic, miss. There's a tent close." The petite woman didn't look Ora in the eyes, examining the wounded arm instead.

"If you wait around any longer, I swear you will be in more danger from my wrath than from any of the Kore's specialized weaponry." Though her voice was faint, she held a firm tone, a tone she inherited from her parents. One that had gone through great use to the Soltari line in their habits of commanding, demeaning, and threatening. She gave her father a solid look before being taken by the pilots.
It was rather clear on close examination that Ora wouldn't be walking anywhere any time soon. The arm Lori examined was still quite a wreck, the bones of the hand smashed to fine grain, and the wound above her wrist only newly sealed.

Seeing the bruises and surgical scars on Ora's arm, as well as how shakily she stood, Lori nodded and gestured to the other pilots. "You hang on, Miss Lia. We'll carry you, an' gentle."
The male pilot lifted her torso, the other female pilot grabbed Ora's legs, and Lori held her head and shoulders. "Just keep your bad arm on your stomach and hold it with your good arm, there's a girl. We can't feel it hurt, so you let us know when something we're doing makes it worse, 'K?"
The tent, as Lori had said, wasn't very far. Several hundred yards is still tough on the injured, as well as those carrying, but they managed.

Ora held onto her arm, her breathing fairly calm all things considered. "I'll need my mother." She whispered to the pilots as they carried her toward the tent.

I'll be safe enough." "I will see you there, then I will go back to Jishara. I am not going to leave my wounded daughter with just anyone."

"You are being ridiculous." Ora said in a flat voice. "Do you honestly think three pilots will run off with me, or let me die on the sidelines? Get your skinny a** off to Jishara or I swear I will make your life pure hell for the next thousand years. I will have babies...just so I can drop them off on your doorstep to harass you."

"The dreadnought doesn't eat children....and mom would beat you with a crowbar." Ora's eyes narrowed, "I am perfectly fine. However, once Toli is capture or killed by the Kore, my death will not be too far in following."

"Ora, your mother only beats me with a crobar when I ask her to nicely. The child will be fine until I can intervene. We will get you to the tent, then I will rescue Toli. Are we understood?"

Ora glared at her father, but relaxed back in the grip of the pilots. "Does it matter if I understand or not?" She let out a frustrated sigh. "You are entirely unreasonable, you know."

Xeen shook his head. "I am very reasonable. I just am patient, and have a plan, and you worry too much." Xeen replied, keeping a pace with them, "There is time enough for me to ensure your well keeping, as well as save Toli. This, I am certain of.

"Your certainty is far from comforting." Ora said, now holding something of a permanent scowl on her face. "Honestly, though, what are the requirements of my safe keeping? I you really certain something is going to either kill me out of the blue or snatch me from existence? I mean really, Father. This is ridiculous."

Lori sent one of the other pilots off to find the Matron once they had Ora in the tent.
Then she spun around at hit Xeen with a hard slap, tears and anger written all over her face. "How dare you doubt my honor. How dare you doubt that she'll be safe here, on my guard, in a healing tent, with your wife on this world! You can't keep a carrot stick safe, Xeen Soltari. How about you go leave and do something else again?
