// I'm back...hopefully. //  Gossamer soon returned with a satisfied smile on her face...an a bit of blood spatter on her cheek that she apparently didn't notice. "Sorry about that. I thought I'd put my card somewhere he wouldn't loose it. What I miss?" she asked as she stopped in front of the table, soon spotting the bottle. "Oh, ordered a drink? There wouldn't happen to be an extra glass for me, would there?" she asked as she gently sat down.

"Gossamer, why don't you just go ahead and say it: you killed him with that Ace. How do I know? You missed a spot," Joker said, pointing at his own cheek, mirroring the spot where the speck of blood was on her face. "Nice touch, using a playing card... Not very creative, I've been doing it for ages, but for someone who's not from here, very good. I think you and I are going to get along just fine." He turned to Killer Croc and said, "Croc, WE'RE here to wait out the storm so that we can go kill the Bat. I'M going to succeed, because I know how to do it better. The question is, what are YOU doing here? YOU couldn't kill Batsy if all you had to do was say 'Hi, I'm Killer Croc!'

 Blackstone glanced back at Gossamer and gave her a small smile. "Help yourself." he replied, motioning towards the glasses. He grinned a bit at Joker's comment to Killer Croc, then turned back to Gossamer a moment. "You mentioned a Sapphire Spider...what is she like?" he asked, wanting to be sure it was the same Sapphire he was thinking it was.

Gossamer blinked a moment, then took a hand and rubbed her cheek. She really thought she'd got it all the first time. Oh well. She smiled at him for the compliment and began to pour herself a drink. True, the whole playing card thing was kind of old. Bullseye, Gambit, it had been done before. Honestly she wasn't going for creativity....then again she didn't tell them where she'd put the card at. She took a sip from the glass, then winced a bit at Blackstone's question. "Pff, a pain. Wears a black and blue costume, hangs around Spider-Man enough that she's starting to pick up a mouth. Blue webbing stuff that she controls with telekinesis or something..." she answered.

"Which she can solidify so its nearly impossible to break? Spider-leggs emerge from her back, healing abilities?" Blackstone added with a smile. It was her then. Well, he would definately have to try and find her sometime. It had been far too long, and without any of her friends, there wouldn't be much to get in his way.

"Sounds like quite a handful to me..." Killer Croc was grateful that no one like that was in Gotham City, but he kind of wished there was, so that he could squash it like an insect. "But Batman's much harder to beat than he would seem. Sure he doesn't look like more than a human, but he fights like a man possessed, and has all kinds of technology at his desposal. Plus, there's how he can just figure things out. Like a detective or something. He's more than meets the eye." He leaned in, careful to mind the table so that he didn't break it. "You know what I think he REALLY is, though?"
"No, Croc, not the robot theory again..." Joker was glad that Waylon Jones had shown up, in case a fight were to break out, but there was the other side of the coin: Croc's mental capacity was slower than a drunken turtle. Batman was human, Joker had seen him bleed enough times to know that. He couldn't help that Killer Croc was an idiot, though.
"Well, he COULD be..." Jones couldn't figure out why the other Rogues found that theory so hard to believe. Waylon had never seen him bleed, and if there was something that he was good at, it was destroying things, and blood usually spilled as a result of it.

Gossamer looked at Blackstone a moment. " Heh, so you've met?". She turned back to Joker and the other man. Somehow she hadn't noticed him until now. Then again a face like that... She grinned a bit. "Another brainy hero then, huh? Well, human or robot, without a healing factor he shouldn't be impossible to do in. Unless of course he's one of those that always manages to escape at the last minute types." she said taking a sip of her drink. She had a bit of a love-hate relationship with those types. They annoyed the crap out of her because they just wouldn't stay dead, but she was also glad she'd have another chance to play with them agian. Then there was the other question about wether these guys did the stereotypical bad guy thing and just left the hero to his demise. You know, didn't stay to make sure died.

Ivy rolled her eyes. "If he were a robot, my pheromones and poisons wouldn't work on him, now would they?" A small, satisfied smile curled at the edges of her mouth. "And they do. Believe me, he's human." The smile disappeared, and she suddenly looked almost petulant. "Although he is ridiculously fast about getting that gas mask on." She glanced at Blackstone and Gossamer. "So what about your girl? Why is she so difficult to get rid of?"

"I bet I know..." Joker said, before either of the other could answer. "I'm not sure about you," the clown pointed at Blackstone as he said that part, then continued with, "But you, Gossamer, I'm not sure you WANT her to die, not really. You want her to know that she was beaten, and you want her to know that she was beaten by YOU. And a corpse doesn't know it's been beaten, because it's too busy being dead." He closed his eyes, finishing with, "Lord knows I have that issue myself with Batsy. Many times, I just can't bring myself to kill off my best audience. Never misses a show, that one."
Killer Croc then said, "But you try to kill him anyways?"
Joker looked at Croc, replying with force, "Of COURSE I try to kill him! BECAUSE he's my perfect foe! If I ever killed him, he'd be my IMPERFECT foe! And then... WHO'D GIVE A DAMN! I AM A FORCE OF NATURE, A FORCE OF THE MIND! AND I NEED MY COUNTERFORCE TO STAND AGAINST ME, TO MAKE ME WORK! It is only through my failure that I know I'm sooooooooooooooooo... PERFECT! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

Ivy pursed her full lips, but otherwise ignored the interruption. "So," she began again, her eyes focusing on Blackstone's, "Why? Even if she is an intelligent girl, something tells me that she can't outthink you."

Gossamer opened her mouth to answer Ivy, but stopped and turned towards Joker. She listened to him for a moment, then a smile slowly made it's way across her lips. "My, you're good." she purred. She was really starting to like this clown. Honestly, she hadn't thought about that. Sapphire had always just lived, or escaped, or someone saved her. Though she'd stew about it for a while, she normally couldn't wait to have another go at Sapphire. He was right.

Blackstone smiled and chuckled a bit. "Honestly she's more emotion than she is logic." he replied. "At first it was mainly her healing abilities and the fact that her partner always managed to show up just in time to save her. After I gained a new power and some very useful information on her...neither happened to be the case anymore. She could no longer use her powers when she was around me, and her entire team had turned on her. Then she was simply more useful to me alive than dead. Of course that didn't mean she couldn't come to within an inch of dying on occasion." he continued. "But she finally decided to make one last attempt and managed to escape. Haven't seen her since." he finished. He didn't feel the need to go into detail just yet. If it came up he might. The fact that he finally found out who she was, captured her and threatened her family, which he could have eradicated within seconds. Cliche yes, but being seemingly self-sacrificial by nature, it worked on her. She still refused to give up Arachnis or the others, but she did agree to work for him instead. This branded her as a traitor to the other heros, and as a villian by law. After a while she had no choice but to stay with him. And after he found out just how much Arachnis seemed to love her, he did a few things just to spite him, making Arachnis hate him and her even more. It may not be legally binding in this world, but technically they were still married in his. And since she was considered missing/dead in his world, no one would mind if it stayed that way.

Ivy's eyes brightened with amusement, and her mouth formed a silent 'Ah.' "You managed to recruit her, then," she said quietly, and then paused to take a sip of water. "Manipulation is entertaining, isn't it? Especially when the people around them, their friends, start looking at them like traitors." An almost dreamy, nostalgic smile spread across her face. "So very entertaining." Her eyes remained far away for a second or two, locked on some wickedly satisfying memory; finally they sharpened and returned to his face. "And this Arachnis person?"

Blackstone knodded at her and smiled. For a moment he wondered if her memory was like what happened between Sapphire and the team. If the allies were sometimes the ones that brought the traitor to within and inch of their life. He took another drink and his smile fell a bit. "Still gets in the way, not nearly as much since Sapphire went missing. He doesn't have any healing abilities, and Sapphire was usually the one to save him from death. But he's much stronger, and won't give in nearly as easily as she does. Stubborn." he said, then paused a moment, seemingly in thought. "I could kill him, even with his team still there. But, he's been miserable since her dissapearance. After the pain he's caused me, I think it only fair to allow him to continue living." he finished. He could've killed him, and had it been any other time we wouldn't have hesitated to. Well that wasn't true either...he would have made sure it was slow. After all his wife didn't die quickly from that bullet. If it hadn't been his fault, he probably wouldn't have become so obsessed on killing Arachnis.
