"Well, she's mostly cream, but her belly scales and horn are a golden brown color," Toshiro began. "She has green eyes as well as a green loop pattern both under her eyes and on the top of her back legs." The stallion looked around them thoughtfully for a moment before turning back to Kindle. "Those wings... Can you fly with them?" Perhaps the search would prove to be more fruitful if divided between and and sky.

Tilting her head to one side, Kindle considered a moment, internalizing the description. "So that," she muttered softly, "is a Xiang." She nodded as though it all made perfect sense. Her attention turned back to Toshiro at the question, her cheeks flushing a pale pink. "Um, I can glide. If we can find a high cliff or outcropping, I can scour the forests that way..."

Toshiro shook his head lightly. "No no, that's fine. We can both search on the ground then." He looked around once more, trying to figure out where to start. "Perhaps we should split up," he suggested. "We could meet up back here again when the sun is high in the sky." After all, they had the maimed tree as a landmark now, right? Kindle smiled and nodded her agreement. "Alright. We'll find your Xiang. From which way did you come?" Cream mare, cream mare. Shouldn't be hard, right? How many other Kirin could there actually be in the area? "More forest that way." With a gesture of her muzzle, she indicated north. "And the river there." A nod to the south. "It eventually opens to a-... a really big lake." A big lake that she'd yet to find the end to, but she didn't know what to call it otherwise.

"We came from back there," Toshiro replied, gesturing in the direction where they had met the others. "Alright, I'll search the forest and you can check out the river side. Thank you again for your help, Kindle." With that said the stallion cantered back off into the forest, resuming his search with a renewed vigor.

With a light nod, Kindle whipped around and moved for the river at a fast run. She skirted trees and branches with a gentle ease. Feeling her feathers shift in the breeze, she tucked her wings close to her side. The soft sound of bells preceded her, long before she came to the water's edge. Slowing, her nose wrinkled as the smell of wet assailed her. "Xi-Xiang...?!" The damp clinging to her, she shook out her mane then started forward, toward the water's edge. "Xiang?" Craning her head, she glanced around, then turned to follow the river, calling out at intervals.

"Xiang?" Toshiro called out as he trotted through the forest. Where on earth could she have gotten to? He was quite worried about her, for he had never in his life seen the mare so disdraught about anything. If she never wanted to see him again then he would gladly go, but not until he at least got her to see that none of this was in any way her fault. He tried calling out to her once more. "Xiang!"

"I'll help you make sure they are alright then Silarial", the monarch Kirin responded back to her with a half of mouthful of berries. His wings shifted a bit restlessly on his back, he really didn't like the idea of looking for the male, but he would be satisfied looking for the other female. "Please lead the way," Cadeyrn told her with a slight flick of the tail.

Silarial cast her new orange friend a keen look.
"Didn't you just say you were hungry...? Well, there's plenty to eat along the way," she said as they headed out of the clearing. "That bark is alright, for example; but who would do such a thing to a tree?"
The marks were quite obviously made with a stallion horn, and since Alucard was asleep...
She stared at Toshiro's work with mixed feelings. On the one hand, she understood his need to vent; on the other, she felt sorry for the creatures who called that tree home. Now, they would have to move out and search for another.
Her ears flicked as she thought she heard a familiar voice, and she concentrated on the wind.
"Cadeyrn, I think that's Toshiro... can you hear him?"

(He didn't damage the tree THAT badly, lol. Gosh. xd I see no reason for any squirrels, birds, and bugs to have to move out over a little torn bark.)
"Xiang?" He let out a heavy sigh, pausing to look around again. There were no signs of the mare anywhere. Had he gone the wrong way? Or did Xiang really run that far in order to get away from him? The thought hurt a little, but he quickly shook it off. Now's not the time, he scolded himself. I just need to make sure she's alright...

Cadeyrn followed behind her. "My stomach can wait," he replied, "Finding your friends is more important then my personal needs." A look of sympathy spread crossed the stallions face, he did think of himself as lord over the forest and if he couldn't really protect a tree then how would he even be able to come to protect another of his kind. At that thought his wings dropped a bit, he himself didn't even know how well he would do in a battle between another stallion. Was he that pathetic.
His ears shifted a bit when she spoke once again. First shifting towards her then to searching for the voice of another. "Slightly," He responded back after a while.

((elf - I thought you said "mauled". >.> Like dog mauls person mauled. Guess it's my fault for reading wrong...))
"You're as kind as Alu, you know?" The mare responded sweetly. "But a stally your size needs to eat much more than what you've had so far this morning. Munch what catches your eye, really... it's alright. There's no need to be shy about eating in front of me," she teased.
"Come on, I think I heard it from this way."
As they wove through the trees, a familiar brown flank was visible, standing alone.

(Nope, just marked, lol. xd )
Toshiro had been about to move on again when he heard approaching hoof-fall behind him. He turned around quickly, hoping it was Xiang. "Ah, hello," he greeted, a little less politely than he had intended in his disappointment. "I, um, don't suppose either of you happen to have come across my sister?" he asked awkwardly.

"Whos Alu?" he questioned, he really wasn't familiar with any other Kirin, yet he shook his head, who ever Alu was didn't really matter at the moment. "I'll be fine," He reassured her, "And if i was shy about eating in front of you I wouldn't have done so earlier," He blew a puff of air through his nostrils almost like a half snort. All this he spoke and did while he was following her through the forest.
