((Oh... He is sweet, but... He doesn't live near me anymore... He moved away temporarily. His mom hurt her back and couldn't work, so they're staying with his grandmother in Texas for a while...))

"I've never heard of that. What is it?" Aya asked, genuinely curious. Hm... Maybe making friends isn't as hard as I originally thought, she thought.

((I feel your pain. My boyfriend lives in North Dakota, which is about three states away from me. To the...um...left.))

"A game she fails at." Anna snickered, but her voice hinted that she was just teasing Ainsley as she collected her cards. "It's about getting cards, and I'm kicking her across the room and shredding her dignity on my spaghetti as she starves." Anna had a way of saying things that were spin offs of regular sayings, but making them sound totally different.

((Aww, long distance relationships suck. How far away from Texas are you?))

Ainsley grinned, and looked at Anna, "Since you actually know the rules, you can add on anytime you want," She returned her gaze to the shy girl in front of her. "Well, it's really similar to war at the beginning. All the cards are passed out and the players get their own piles but can't look at them." She felt, and hoped this was explained a little clearer this time, since even she got confused with the directions she gave Anna. "One player flips a card at a time, creating a center pile. The number cards are ignored, except for 'slapping in,' which I'll explain later. It's the face cards that are really important. When a player lays one down, the next gets a certain number of chances to lay down a face card of their own. If they don't, then the first player gets the pile. If they do, it goes on to the next player." Like before, she counted off on her fingers, "The Jack provides one chance, Queen two, King three and the Ace four." Her eyes rolled upwards for a moment, as she made sure she included everything. "The player who gets all the cards wins." She nodded, pretty sure that was it.

((I'm in Virginia.))

Aya nodded. It sounded simple enough. "That sounds easy," she said. All of her previous hesitation has all but disappeared.

((Oh my god, I'm really sorry Bi-flan, I didn't see your post...>.< My internet connection sometimes loads so slow other people post before me....sorry! I usually preview my post, just in case, I'll remember to do it from now on. And that's wow...the longest I've tried long-distance-wise is 4 hours...not that I've had many relationships but still))

Ainsley rolled her eyes laughing joyfully. "The only thing I have left is that my dignity tastes bad." She playfully stuck her tongue out at Anna, grinning. Now she knew, she wouldn't ever regret her choice. This was where she belonged. She loved it already.

She looked at Aya, her smile widening when she noticed her hesitation was gone. "Do you want to watch us finish this game? Or do you want us to restart so I might have a chance?"

((Yeah...My relationship sucks right now...Good thing it's only temporary. Honestly, this is my first relationship with anyone. Yeah, I had those small little crushes when I was younger, but I never actually dated anyone.

You know what else sucks? School. Especially for high school students.))

"It's your game. You do what you want," Aya said. She wanted to watch them play so that she could better understand the game. The game seemed simple, but looks can be deceiving.

((I understand that--I'm 17 and on relationship number 3--and I get the school reference, governor's school is killing me.))

Ainsley glanced at Anna, then back at Aya. "Well, I always learn better by watching. There are a couple of ways to gain cards other than the face cards." She smiled a little, "It's called slapping: we use doubles, sandwiches, marriages, gay marriages and divorces." She shrugged a little, "All Anna has to do is slap a little slower than me, and kill my hand in turn for my getting the cards." She grinned, teasingly at Anna, deciding she liked the color of her eyes.

((O.O You're in Governor's School? My mom says I belong in Governor's School, but everyone I know that is in it are always really stressed out.

I'm wondering, has anyone ever heard of Mahjong?))

Aya nodded, understanding. "That sounds simple," she said.

((Krazy likes Majong. Sorry I hadn't replyed sooner...Had homework to finsish thrus. Concert right after school fri...didnt get home till 1 this morning...But krazy is here now. And I know your pain. My bf is coming up for a visit today...He moved a couple of hours away but even that kind of sucks. But we got to spend time together last night at the concert. and they are coming for a visit so I'm pretty happy.^.^))

Dakota jumped when she heard a knock at the door. Quickly she rearanged papers on her desk to look like she had been doing something. In reality she had been sleeping on the desk. She shook out her head before standing to go to the door. She opened it slowly and poked her head around the door. She smiled slightly when she saw Yoh but it quickly disappeared. "Is everything done?" She opened the door all the way and walked back to her desk, obviously so he could come in if he wanted to.

((I found out about Mahjong from watching an anime and I got interested. But I don't know how to play it.

Concert? What kind of concert?))

((Here at least, the work is easy, they just pile it on. So it sucks. And I can't figure out where Majong came from but I like it too....and it's sad, my boyfriend is in the same county and he lives 40 minutes away...I always feel bad since he comes to see me more--but his car has over 40mpg so...))

Ainsley grinned at her, "Well, just keep watching-I'll try to lose quickly." She glared playfully at Anna. "You hear that? Do you think you can beat me soon? It's getting tedious just sitting here." She glanced back at Aya. "If you feel like you get it, then just slap in okay?" She had already grown to like the newer girl, and it strengthened her feeling that she belonged here.

((Does anyone else think its really cool everyone's name starts with 'A'? We're Triple A! lol--I'm referring to us like that from now on.))
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:48 pm

((XD I just noticed that! I have ADD, so I don't notice things as quickly as others.

I think Mahjong came from China, but I'm not positive.))

Aya nodded. She liked Ainsley. She wasn't like the people at school. She seemed to be kind of person that would be a friend to anyone, not just popular or '"cool" people. She liked Anna as well. She seemed like the playful type. To Aya, people who are serious all the time are just plain boring.

(( heart Sorry, I really was just meaning where it came from in this sort of conversation...sorry sweatdrop But I only noticed it because I was typing all three of them at the same time. ^.^))

Ainsley playfully stuck her tongue out at Anna, "Well, if you want to beat me, you're probably gonna have to lay a card down. Otherwise, it might be a little boring for Aya to watch." She laughed softly, her face glowing with her smile.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 21, 2009 10:31 pm

((Oh. Oops. My mistake. sweatdrop Just ignore what I just said, then. Well, it came up from the game that Anna and Ainsley are playing. It's Egyptian. I'm fascinated in Egypt. I'm also fascinated in China. Then Mahjong popped into my head. Don't ask why. I have no clue! XD

Gah! Stupid writer's block! >.> I can't think of a single thing for Aya to do or say!))

((It's okay, Bi-flan and I are just rambling about flipping cards onto the pile too. ^^))

Ainsley grinned at the new girl, "So, what do you think of the mysterious letter? Do you think we're going to be kidnapped and used for government experiments? She said it all with a straight face, as if she and Anna had already discussed and agreed upon the subject, and were wondering her honest opinion.
