Kia didn't think much of the prolonged touch, but instead gripped the pills and kicked off the chair gently. Walking slowly around in a circle to the line she quickly pretended to bump the cart and let the pills drop onto the tray's corner silently as if a plastic cup had been knocked down. Giving the nurse a small smile she moved around then back towards Madeline, "Simple. Fast. Works great....." She started to drift before moving over towards Hector's seat. "Hey there again, what do you think about our new family member?" she asked sitting on the arm of his chair slowly.

Hector felt the pills finally take their affect and felt his nervousness and cautiousness go down a notch or two, and that almost turned him back to normal, but still freaked out if he saw something sharp. He heard Kia speak to him. "She's alright. Just no running at me and no sharp objects and we'll get along."

Madeline had watched Kia walk over to the boy she'd introduced to them. She knew that Mattie was the topic of their conversation, but she wasn't too worried about them. Instead she just kept reading.
Mad was the guard of the group. While Matt was in the back of their mind, comforting Mattie, and Madeline was reading, she felt as if it was her duty to protect them. She used Madeline's peripheral vision to watch the extra nurses. She immediately spotted the nurse who'd led them into this lounge area. There were others, who seemed to be distracted as they handed the cups of perscriptions to the patients, as if they didn't care who got what. Then some who wore a severe frown, and seemed to glare at everything alive. Each persona Mad took note of, trying to see which nurse could help them if necessary.

"She isn't that kind of person, she wouldn't do that to you." said Kia softly. Looking at the floor she frowned a little in her thoughts. "Yeah, she's a good person." This was only a little drifted though as she pushed off the edge of the chair and started to walk. At first her destination wasn't clear but then she quickly dodged around one person and past Madeline in her chair to a darker lit side room with a big window. She always went back there to think and review, to try and remember why she was there in the first place.

((I swear, I've tried to post this like 7x. I don't know why it's not working!))
When she pulled back, Mattie found the deepest reaches of her mind to curl up in. She barely responded when Matt pulled her against him in a comforting embrace. It was a frequent tactic that she used whenever there was too much information for her to handle. When it was just her and Matt, he had to balance between controlling their body and comforting her. If he left her, staying with the body's control, she would spend weeks in her shelter. Now that Madeline and Mad were here, they would switch occasionally, to help pull her out.

Kia looked out the window and focused on her past. Just trying the zero on how she got in there in the first place. Blood. Blood. Drugs. Blood. Shaking her head she sighed tears starting to fall down her cheeks into her lap.
The nurse strolled around the room saying little things to the patients. Glancing around, checking up. Stopping in front of Madeline she glanced at the book she was reading and took it from her slowly. "Sorry, but we have to check things up at the desk before patients can use them. I'm sure it will be fine, but just in case. Where is Miss Anderson?" he said spotting Kia before tucking the book under his arm. "Nurses, to the room." A couple more nurses followed him as he went into the room to retrieve Kia.
Before she could finish her thoughts Kia felt herself being yanked up and pulled back into the group room. "Now Miss Anderson, what do we keep telling you about the windows?" Kia clenched her fists at the grips they had on her arms as they dragged her out toward a chair, starting to threaten her with sedatives. They tossed her into the chair and held her down as if she needed calming down. "Stop it! This is against my rights! Get off of me." She started the struggle against their too hard pressed arms while one of the nurses started to undo a needle.

Madeline looked horrified. She had released these people would be cruel. But that book, she was in the middle of a chapter, of a sentence! She almost got up, to go after the woman, to wrench it from her hand, and run, reading as many extra lines as she could before she was caught.
Mad mentally slapped Madeline across the face. Sometimes, that was exactly what she needed, and only Mad was willing to do it. We're in enough problems. We do not what to be locked up in a white room with a straight jacket. This is bad enough. Madeline nodded to the newer girl, and opened her mouth to thank her but Mad quickly shushed her. She turned their head towards Kia, seeing the scene. This was bad. Probably common, but bad.
Madeline was off the seat before she thought. "Excuse me?" She called, her voice usually fit to be in a library raising to be heard. "Excuse me? Can Kia sit beside me?" Once she realized what she had started, she lowered her face, almost curling as she stood. "I mean, it's still away from the windows. Would it be alright?"
((It was great. I was worried about this posting, but it was the PM in sent you that had trouble. For some reason I find that immensely humorous.))

The nurse with the needle turned toward her and paused, "Oh so Anderson, you've made a friend. Well look here new girl. Things are run really different around here, and this girl being held in the chair there came here cut the pieces and under the influence of drugs. So unless you want to be sedated too, sit down." With that the nurse turned and stabbed the needle into Kia's vein injeting the medicine. After a minute or two they left one by one taking the book with them. Kia slowly pushed herself into the chair and pulled her knees to her chest quietly. "Under the influence? There was a party.....I took a drink. Yes that's right. Thats what started this. I was drugged at a party, and now I'm here...." she shook slightly from the sedatives as she blinked a couple times before looking at Madeline, "Sorry you had to see that..."

Madeline dropped her head instantly, submissiveness a part of her nature. It almost sprung back up, under Mad's control, but both Madeline and Matt fought her. Together, they sat the body down, in a stiff, almost robotic movement. She bit her lip, trying not to cry at Kia's words, she promised herself that she'd remember, so Kia could always know. "It's okay. I might be new, but I'm not made of porcelain." She gave her a smile, though tears made her purple eyes sparkle. She couldn't cry. If she did, then Mattie's sorrow would overflow. She pulled back from the surface, and into Mad's arms, letting the rougher girl take care of her.
Mad gave Kia a wry smile, "You did good. Though next time, you probably will want to use your legs more." She still wanted to get Mattie's small hands around that b***h's neck, and the only thing that kept her from running after her was that Madeline needed her book back. It was her comfort. Mad could only do so much.

"If you liked that you should see whne I actually need sedation. I try to leave many marks." she joked wiping tears from her face from when she had been alone. "Don't you just hate how they assume things? Just because there were drugs in my system when I got here doesn't mean I did it to myself. I didn't even know at the time. Assumptions like that are the reason I'll never get out of here." She shook her head at the sheer stupidity of it all. The sedatives had kicked on a level where she talked softly as usual, and barely thought, just sat and talked.

Mad smirked as she stroked Madeline's hair. "I think you should start aiming higher. Try for tears." She ignored the small gesture, but raised an eyebrow at the information she gave her, "Well, do you know how you got them?" she asked in her usual blunt manner. She was curious a little, but mostly because Madeline kept thinking she needed to remember everything for her.

"Hey what is this show and tell? The first rule is no asking questions of how people got here." She looked over at her and smiled, "Kidding. It is a rule, but whatever. I think this sedative helped me think back clearer. So I was at this party with my friends, and we got separated. I made the mistake of letting some guy get me something to drink to calm my nerves so the rest is pretty much me drugged out. Its black in some parts, clips. I remember being pulled into a room, my friends faces, a lot of pain, and then I'm dumped off here where I've been ever since. Yet it was put together so perfectly, looks like suicide. And can I get out right now? No." She shook her head and looked at the ground. "Talk about a lesson on people right?"

Mad's protectiveness was starting to include Kia. She nodded grimly, and her mind flicked back to one of Mattie's oldest memories. When it started to come up, she jerked her head, forcing it back. That was not something Mattie needed to deal with right now. Not while she was upset already. "You were lucky you weren't raped." she said it nonchalantly, though she was unsure if rape was better than years here. "Wait, did you say friends faces?" the question was more growled out that asked.

"Yeah and they each had two." she said pulling her knees in tighter. "They REALLY must not have liked me. Oh well, what's the use of being stuck in something you can't change. The past can't do anything if you know how to write your future." She smiled a little at the thought, "Mine isn't in here. You seem to have a couple things going on in your mind. What is it?"

Mad admired her ability to stay optimistic after all these years. She was alone, Mad was sure that the four of them would not manage it. Instantly, at her question, the memory came back. She lowered her head, pushing it away as she murmured, "nothing."
