morgan: I'm just going to use the Frog Princess, simply because it's more compact. Feel free to reference any other tales when you're playing her; this is just for reference.

No problem. I'm waiting to see if my friend is on to reply to my email about going to new york. Our situation has been compromised and I want to know if I can sleep in. Stupid tickets being sold out...

Goddess: Two things.

1. Kelly green is just another word for emerald green, except maybe a little lighter. I would have preferred a more realistic shade, but I suppose I'll let it slide, since it seems to be important.

2. You still have not fixed the 'fast' description of being raised. Clarification or an entirely new adjective, please.

Hunter Green. That good? I've really just been trying to avoid green or forest green. I thought this shade was forest green, but apparently it's this shade.

I replaced fast with 'easily', but that's a lame word so I synonymed its self with 'simply'.

Accepted. I used the Wikipedia page to tell which fairytale she's from, if that's alright; it gives all the versions of the story.

Hello, My name is
    Shiro Natsuaga

I Have Been on this Earth for About
    Seventeen Years

I am of the
    Male Gender

I'm staying in dorm number
Two, of the the Blue dorm

I'm currently enrolled in grade number
    Eleven

c o l o r m e p r e t t y

How I Normally Look
Shiro is eternally childish; even in the way his face is shaped and the way his smile stretches across his cheeks and pulls at the corners of his eyes. He stands relatively tall at 5"9 for a Japanese boy, and is still growing taller. The contrast to his ability to tower over people is how waif-like and girlish his build actually is, and the fact that he has no muscle to speak of. Quite frankly, his appearance is reminiscent of the classic bishōnen stereotypes, what with his high cheek-bones and unusually full lips. His eyes are a dark, almost black grey, and are the typical almond shape framed by lashes that are just a little bit too long to be unnoticed, even with the black hair constantly draped over them. Luckily, he's got at least one characteristic that defies that of a pretty boy, and that is his tanned skin. For most girls, Shiro's feminine disposition is a turn-off, but he could be considered handsome to a very select few.

Shiro tries his best to be masculine in other ways, because he can't exactly change his whole face, now can he? He likes wearing dark coloured button-ups and the old staple of jeans. None of his clothes are particularly expensive or high-quality, but not exactly cheap either. His secret affection lies in scarves of every colour and pattern, and you can rarely see him walking around without one on, even in the dead heat of summer. Oddly enough, Shiro also has a particular fondness for dressing up in blazers and vests, so one day he might randomly walk into class as if dressed for a formal event. One thing he veers away from are full suits, it's the child in him, really.

Shiro's emotions all show on his face, if he's not having a good time, you'll know it from the way his eyes are half-lidded, and his mouth turned down in a bored frown. When he's happy, he could probably brighten the room with a smile miles wide. Sometimes, his complete inability to mask his emotions is a hindrance, and maybe an annoyance to some less tolerant people.

Also, Shiro keeps a cat, of the Korat breed specifically, named Miki. Her fur is slate-gray, but her underbelly and forelegs are a muted white colour.

Fairytale Appearance
In his fairytale form, Shiro usually has a few pounds on make-up covering his body. We're talking pure white powder, very similar to that of the Geishas' (except everywhere) and a lot of liner. An inch of eye liner, some pale lip liner and a bit of the wax stick as well; nobody is anything but generous on the blush. By the end of the makeover Shiro has passed the line from just bishōnen-like to full out androgynous, a fact not aided by his attire.

The Jinbei he dons blends in perfectly with skin in a shade that could be the perfect imitation of snow. It's covered in a barely visible silk brocade pattern that stands out in the light. On his feet are cheap looking straw sandals, a contrast to the little intricacies of his shorts. In this costume Shiro's messy hair is combed, straightened and pulled back as far as it can go before being pinned down. A realistic top knot in the traditional style is then attached securely to his head through the use of a million more pins.

He is then given a scroll to tote around, one that he has personally filled with ink brush drawings of almost every cat species known to man, and many more of his precious Miki. And of course, we cannot forget his personal entourage of several academy strays. The story of how he trained them is simple but little-known. On his arrival to the school, he noticed that although his clothes were expensive and his make up extravagant, he was missing something very important. Drawing inspiration from the original tale, he went about the grounds finding and training various strays. This went on until about the third semester, until they finally began following him on command.

How I am
Shiro is a flirt, simply put. He's childish, unreliable and extravagant. The thing is, he doesn't even know about those qualities, and if somebody were to bring them up, he'd be firmly in denial no matter what they said. He's bullheaded, and if he doesn't agree with you, you will never convince him. Not to mention the fact that he doesn't quite understand the meaning of boundaries. He'd flirt with anyone, may it be your girlfriend, your sister or the school nurse and laugh in your face if you were concerned about it. His favourite phrase is without a doubt "Calm down, I was just joking around.". Obviously, his personality isn't for everyone, but the few people that can put up with his disregard of their opinions are often rewarded well. Shiro invests a lot of himself in his companions, and a lot of money as well. His gifts are almost always belated, but often thoughtful and relatively pricey. But, does that make up for the time he slept in before you were about to go shopping?

Shiro doesn't get particularly high grade, partially because his writing is almost illegible and partially because he doesn't really care. You know, at all. He's pretty willing to play the "sick" card to get out of any class he doesn't want to be in, with an excuse as stupid as "the teacher is wearing a colour that gives me vertigo" Sometimes the office lets it slide, other times he's physically dragged back to class. He can be a bit manipulative, playing his reputation to get away with something he shouldn't have. Usually, he doesn't really mean it, but Shiro has his own moments of selfishness.

He's not a particularly sad person, and he's come to deal with his regret at having to leave his family permanently as well as anybody else; however, thoughts of them still stab at his heart a little. He hasn't had the nerve to write to them, to ask how they're doing, if anything's changed. Partly, he's afraid of the answer, he's afraid of not feeling important or helpless against a dire situation. So he sticks with the fool's adage: "Ignorance is bliss".

How I came to be
Beyond the shadow of a doubt, Shiro has always loved his family more than anything; ever. This strong loyalty stemmed from the very first day he had seen his mother paint, frail-looking fingers creating the thick, beautiful brush strokes on a bright white canvas.

Shiro has never been rich, and his family moved around frequently because of his father's rarely successful business ventures. Because he didn't have the opportunity to make new friends in any one town, he had learnt to cope with that by forming strong bonds with his parents, and later, his brother. There was only one thing constantly maintained in Shiro's ever-shifting life, and that was his mother's studio. No matter what size the abode, no matter where the town, there was always a room for Kumiki. This was a room stacked high with cabinets filled with bold paints and brushes of every size. The walls were lined with various pieces his mother cherished and a large collection of family photographs. In a way, the art room was the heart of the family.

One day, his mother set Shiro down with a stack of multi-coloured bricks to play with as she painted, but instead of creating a skyscraper, he watched her paint the day away and never went back. He spent each and every possible hour soaking up everything in that room. He memorized the colours and the photos and brushes and splatters. He became her right hand. For a while, everything was just perfect. He could live on this art alone.

But as we all know, perfect things can never stay as such forever. One rainy April day, his mother announced she was pregnant. Initially, Shiro, at the tender age of six, was over-joyed to have a new sibling. But as she carried further and further into term, his mother was forced to stop painting. She could no longer sit for hours on her little stool, instead she spent her days napping or reading. Shiro had felt lonely without a rainbow to fill his heart. He was already bitter by the time his brother was born.

It started with little petty things, just like any other grudge. Mean faces, intolerance for the baby, and the occasional hard poke. But then, as the two grew older and Shinji went to school, Shiro had taken the role of a regular bully. He stole his brother's allowance, ate his dessert after dinner and hid his toys. Shinji took on a brave face despite it all, and continued believing that truly his beloved brother meant well. He didn't. Shiro liked having all of his mother's attention, but now Shinji was there to take it all away.

There's something else you ought to know
Shiro has a taste for dessert, as most people do, and his favourite happens to be flan. The easiest thing to bribe him with would be home-made flan, in the case you ever needed a favour. He also has a particular taste in women that has yet to be discovered.

Hooray for Blue Winged, who brings an actual male character! I was getting a little nervous. At first glance, it looks pretty good; unfortunately, I have too much homework to give it a more thorough reading at the moment. Hopefully, I'll be able to get to it sometime today.

Blue Winged's profile review:

First off, please get ride of the non-profile OOC stuff at the top of the post.

First five sections: Check.

How I normally look: I'm not going to bother with pointing all of the little errors out, but please have this proofread; they're driving me nuts. Other than that, there is only one thing that I would like you to fix for this section.

I don't like this sentence: 'When he does smile, it never ends up looking fake or forced, unless it actually is." I suppose I understand what you're trying to say, but that is a spectacularly awkward way of phrasing it. If it never ends up looking forced, except for when it does... what is the point of the sentence being there at all?

Fairytale Appearance: Once again, please have proofread. Other than that, I would like you to change the... I can't remember the actual term for it, so I'm going to call it the 'probable future' tense. In other words, please take out all of the "would insert verb here" business. He is a junior, after all, and has been at this for some time. He isn't going to do this; he does this, and on a daily basis. As such, everything should be in present tense.

Oh, and two quick questions: are the cats that follow him in his fairytale outfit animals that just live on the school grounds? How does he get them to follow him around? Please clarify.

How I am: Proofread. Other than that, it's fine.

How I came to be:" "

That's it, I guess. Nice job, overall; I just drive myself insane if there are too many missing commas, or commas where there should be semicolons, etc. If you need help with proofreading, someone in the tutoring topic will undoubtably be willing to help you.

Ok. I did what I could and I'm going to take it to the tutoring section now. I'm not used to this semi-colon business quite yet.

I SPAM THIS BOARD! RWARK! When are we starting the roleplay?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 09, 2009 10:02 pm

I SPAM.... Uh... I can't actually spam my own thread, can I? Poop. Ah, well.

We can start as soon as we have... hold on; I'm going to go count.

Edit: At least five girls and five boys. I want the boys and girls to be even. I hate it when there are more of one than the other... Actually, that's why I'm waiting to make my profile.

Okay. I'm having some trouble finding help with proofreading; though it has only been one day. I also need to say I'll have very limited internet starting tomorrow until March 3rd; sudden trips and all. I'm thinking this roleplay will be up and rolling by then so I'll most likely be starting late, if that's okay.
