Thing is, the native Telrysians looked exactly like the humans, except for one trait. All Telrysians have eye colors that are not available to the human gene pool by themselves. SOA's mixed genetics inadvertently gave him heterochromia, one eye being a bright blue (human side), the other one blood red (Telrysian side). Under the exterior however, the Telrysians outstrip the abilities of humans in pretty much every aspect. Think of it being as if everyone you knew had the capabilities of superman, minus the flight, lasers and x-ray vision, and superhuman hearing.

[As a side note, I'd really prefer that people refer to Obviously_Confused as Rachel.]
Rachel's Story:
World Setting: Telrysia, 2800 AD
Personality: Rachel is known for being a huge tomboy, loving to get her hands dirty instead of watching other people do all the work. Even then, she is known as well for being very bubbly and easy to get along with. However, she will turn hostile if you tick her off, and it's made it so that some guys seem to keep their distance from her.
Story: Like SOA, Rachel is part human, part Telrysian. While SOA might have control over rock, she has control over water. The two of them have been friends practically all their lives, and she's kind of turned into SOA's girlfriend over the years. When the two of them are together, you practically need a crowbar to pull her away from SOA. Still, looks can be deceiving, and Rachel is a prime example. Since childhood, she has learned and mastered at least eleven different martial arts styles, and is also a very skilled swordswoman. She is willing to stand right by SOA's side and help rid her home of the threat her and the rest of her people face.

Whatever floats your boat, Jov. To me, she's just another character. There are supposed to be some differences, but they are quite alike.

just another character??
does that mean she's just kind of those side characters that have no real importance?

Not the case. Sorry for wording it badly, radj. She's one of the main characters, pretty much the second most crucial person in the story.
@spasticbanana: hey brother, you should put down a story for your character too!

Common misconception in writing fantasy:
There are NO characters who aren't crucial to the story. They all have the same amount of importance to the plot. Just because we focus on the protagonists doesn't mean that they are the most important to the story.

Ok, let me put it this way then. Rachel is the second-most infuential non-antagonist character in the entire story. If it weren't for her, SOA would be dead before the end of the story. She ends up saving his life about a dozen different times.
