Nemesis reached out and brushed the man's cheek in what looked like a tender motion. It was just the opposite for as he was touched a hot wave of anguish would pass into Verleid"I asked for answer's,not flattery"He hissed sharply, the air visibly trembling as he grew short on patience."This guest, was she a human or vampire?"He asked, pressing his clawed gauntlet's into the man's undead flesh, before pulling back sharply and leaving four hot red lines across his cheek, when he spoke of how she desired to find a more remote location Nemesis sighed."You are a fool Verleid, the one you were with wasn't what she seemed to be.Something is amiss at this party and if you have somehow aided our enemy this night I promise you,I shall personally nail you to the side of the Emperor's castle and leave you for the buzzards to pick clean. And that is if I'm feeling merciful"
He turned away, leaving the little worm to cower in his corner. In the time he'd been speaking apparently a riot had broke out on the dance floor, cause of it unknown. But as quickly as it had begun, the fight was over courtesy of a woman who'd laid down the law.'Not a shot fired, fearless and cunning..'He'd have a word with the merc later, perhaps even throw a little extra into her pay for preventing a fight so swiftly. But first things first..
He left the ballroom, surveying the halls for any sign of suspcious activity. It was filled with the regular party goer's and their human consorts, engaged in all forms of vial acts that made even Nemesis shudder in pleasure.Something caught his scent suddenly,it was faint but smelled sweeter then any incense or flower could hope to rival..blood,.and by the smell of it recently fresh.Bending over,he saw a trail of red dots, moving away from the party toward's the stairwell in the east, which he followed.Suspicion grew as the trail continued up the flights,it could have been anything..maybe a few vampire lover's having a bit of raunchiness fun,or a vampire snacking on one of it's slave's..but something about this just felt different, and after living for 1500 year's Nemesis knew better then to discard his gut feeling.
The blood trail stopped just outside a doorway on the third floor, was that voices he heard within the room?Nemesis leaned closer, yes indeed it was..a woman was speaking..something about..late in the game..and deaths of many bastards.. He drew back, resting a hand on the hilt of Widow Fang and drawing the enchanted blade.Cold tendrils of power leeched out, turning the hard oak of the door to frozen ice in mere seconds.Bringing his fist up,he slammed it into the block, breaking it with such force it sprayed the inner room with jagged pieces of ice "Just this, are you ready to die?"He asked, raising his blade in mock salute.A wicked frost drifted from the blue moon glow of his sword, the rune's writhing with power while a vile light glowed from the goat skull encrusted on the blade's hilt."All enemies that would stand against the Emperor.."He began, the room's temperature dropping by several degree's"EMBRACE YOUR DESTRUCTION!He swung the sword, sending a wave of air at the woman in the trench coat, the blade's magic freezing what moisture there was in the air, turning it into little pieces of ice that collected within the wave till once it hit the intended foe it had the same effect as a shotgun.

Not a second after she had finished asking her last question, Kelbora's spin stiffened and the world became frozen in time again. Dion was in the process of shouting something, but his mouth was caught in the moment Kelbora has first felt the dark presence. Faer was half way into her spell to adjust her appearance, and the vampire woman had her katana in mid swing to test the blade.
The moment Kelbora saw her breath again she knew what was behind the door directly behind her. As the ice of the sword began to coat both sides of the door, Kelbora turned and stood memorized by the cancerous vines of frost that wrapped its frozen tendrils around the thick wood.
It would have been enchanting if the black ooze from the general's aura weren't leaking in from under the door.
Suddenly time recovered itself again and Kelbora rose her arms before her face as the explosion of wooden splinters, ice shards, and black magic forced her and anyone else close enough to the door into the air.
The vampiress managed to somersault and land in a land in a low crouch as she caught her balance, and she snapped her head up to see the second wave of energy pelting the group with sharp winds and dagger like debris.
She didn't waste another second.
Kelbora coiled all of her energy into her legs and sprang upwards, propelling herself into the direction of the general with blurring speed. At the last heartbeat, Kelbora jumped off the ground and landed one incredible kick right to the center of the man's armored chest, her own power as an Ancient letting her break through his metaphysical protections to land the solid blow.
The force sent the general flying, crashing into and through the reinforced wall behind him and sending him almost over the balcony on the other side, over looking the ballroom. She doubted he was hurt from the attack, but it had surprised him and put distance between them if nothing else.
Kelbora didn't think she needed to let the others know they needed to haul a** and run, so she saved her breath and released her Spell of Shadows. In one fell swoop the glyph she had placed on the floor spread and swallowed Dion, Faer, and Lynn whole, shooting them off through the shadows surrounding the palace to the different structure points beneath the palace.
It took concentration to finish, and when Kelbora opened her eyes she found herself alone. Minus the general, of course.
'Change of plans, just blow the suckers!' Kelbora called out to Dion through their link, and then dashed out the door in pursuit of the general.
Kelbora rounded the wall he'd gone through and in a flash had her right blade out and ran to where he'd fallen. She planned to get on top of him and drive her silver blade through the exposed gap between his armor and neck.
Hopefully, something this evening would go her way.

It would have worked,if he'd still been laying there stunned, but when she came through she found the spot empty.Recovering swiftly Nemesis had taken shelter behind the remants of the wall he'd been thrown through, waiting for the woman to expose herself when she'd try to finish him off.
As soon as she'd stepped through he brought the blade down on her back from behind, sparks flying from where it struck her armor and leaving a thin coat of ice in it's wake."Impressive"He hissed, the air growing thick with the roiling spirits of his past victims."You look surprised, would it be because of this?"He rolled his sword in a graceful loop"When it cut's flesh it doesn't hurt,it numbs the wound. And unless treated it will continue to slowly spread till the icy hand of death grips your body and quenches your breathe forever.Beautiful is it not?"He struck again, feinting with an upper cut to expose herself and ram his knee into her armored gut, striking with such force it actually dented the plate!
"You are no normal wastelander, but you don't exactly smell like a vampire...hmm,what a strange smell."Nemesis declared"But you are still nothing, and before i let you join my collection I shall torment your body and soul till you no longer amuse me"
Bringing a hand up,the world grew dark around them, specter's taking shape in the palm of his hand, writhing and screaming for blood.Their screams mingled into one unified howl as they were unleashed as beam of dark magic at Kelbora, ripping the floorboards out from their wake."Suffer"

Kelbora was surprised at the speed in which the weighed down vampire could recover, and barely managed to get out of the way when the sword came down on her from behind. She had managed to rolled and twist, coming up from a crouch to face him with blades extended.
So the weapon used malignant curses to attack? Tch, then Kelbora needn't worry about being struck by the sword since her wards, armor, and Power of Ancients protected her from that. However, she was startled when he suddenly slashed at her face and then nailed her swiftly in the gut.
She felt part of the silver and steel give in, but it held as she flew backwards and landed on her back, once again flipping to her feet once she had recovered her breath. She coughed once and rose her blades again.
Strange smell? Dion's unique blood must still be in her, but she still wasn't completely full of the precious liquid in order to maximize her full potential. Damn it.
Then the general mocked and laughed at her, raising his hand as the tormented souls fueling his power shrieked in pain and rage while he drew on their essences to prepare the attack. Kelbora's eyes narrowed as the screams cut into her heart and figuratively bled for them. She had once been a Paladin, a warrior who fought for men's souls against the wicked and guided them towards light to spare them the darkness. The soul was a wondrous and beautiful thing, so filled with life and raw essence that it made even the proudest of men weep at their departure from the world, taking such vital life with them to the beyond.
And this b*****d was harnessing them, practically enslaving them like metaphysical batteries! They screamed and screamed, writhing and begging for their torment to cease, and even to her undead ears she still felt the familiar stir of desire to save them.
She had fallen so far from grace so long ago, but even after 2,000 years she still could not turn away from the cries of those the light failed to save.
Rage and righteous fury flooded her veins.
"Suffer!"
The floor boards and marble finishings blew apart as a wave of harnessed evil unleashed itself upon her, and the vampiress sheathed her gauntlet blades with a flick of her wrists, and grasped the hilt of the mighty broadsword on her back. Her image was obscured by the explosion of darkness and light, and in an eruption that shook the very foundations of the mansion, cast off from the whipping winds ripping the chandelier attachments loose and causing them to crash down upon the ballroom and guests, the balcony of the third floor gave way.
Pieces of the walkway, walls, and railings all tumbled down to subsequent levels and atmosphere was saturated with volatile energy making it hard to breath. The lights finally gave way and the electricity running through the mansion failed, the guests screaming and panicking as the music ceased and darkness settled heavily upon them all.
Except the being standing on the other side of the crater that was once the third floor.
Kelbora stood with the broadsword in hand, the silver gleam of the blade glowing with a soft white light as the runic symbols along both edges of the sword danced and simmered like etched pools of mercury. The sword was at least the length from Kelbora's neck to foot, and was as wide as two arms pressed side-by-side. The hilt was ivory with golden veins pulsing beneath the wielder's hand, and the throbbing aura around the weapon made Kelbora's deep green eyes shine like emeralds.
Furious emeralds set upon a face of grime defiance.
"The Emperor kills off vampires approaching their nine-hundred and ninety-ninth year of life to control the population of Ancients," Kelbora said, her voice smooth and thick with hate, "He missed me."
Suddenly Kelbora's own aura flared outward, and the already freezing temperatures caused by Nemesis plunged even further to the point where the guests below began to scream and shudder with the cold. Those with an already low blood supply suddenly dropped, their insides freezing where they stood, and others were suddenly thrown into fridged convulsions making them writhe and chatter their teeth off. Even the daughters of the Emperor were not spared, their already scathely clad bodies were seemingly wrapped in ice.
Kelbora didn't seem to mind or notice the cold since this was her doing and the only effects she had to endure from Nemesis's was seeing her own breath as vapors in the air. She may not have the level of dark powers he possessed, but she was far from a weakling.
She had no illusions that she couldn't beat this guy, not having fed in some time and having not given in to the most corrupting of dark arts, but she could hurt him and hurt him badly. She could give the others time to do their parts and escape, and hopefully she could find an escape route herself before the real party began.
Gee, wouldn't that be nice?
"Children of the Emperor or not, those brats are young and will freeze to death beneath the combined weight of out presences," She said grasping the hilt tighter, "Are you going to take the chance of throwing your essence around long enough to fight me as we are, or spare the brats the fate of becoming icicles to be returned to their father? Something tells me your promotion might not stand up under that one."

Nemesis eye's narrowed, the harlot was powerful indeed but her arrogance practically oozed into the air.She was trying to distract him,to force him away before he overwhelmed her.He ignored her statement, the dark chill growing as his cloak rised from the floor, becoming a swirling vortex of darkness that seemed to call to the blood of the fallen, trickles turning to streams as they crawled up the walls, over the destroyed levels and pooling at the feet of the Lord General till he knee deep in the swirling life fluid."You are strong"he sheathed his sword, raising his hands above his head
The blood turned to a red steam, drawing up into the creature's lips.He shuddered, the dark aura seeming to grow as he took in the essence.Muscles expanded by a few inches and his power grew as he fed, dark veins ebbing through his armor. He exhaled sharply, smoke pouring from his lips like a demon. He lowered his hands, pointing one in her direction
"But I am stronger"
He poured his influence into her mind, her wards putting up a powerful resistace but one that only made him laugh. He invaded her through the darkness in her body, pure evil swimming through her blighted veins. He couldn't read her mind ,but wasn't what he was trying to demonstrate.Nemesis had the power to torment her not only in body, but through spirit as well.Tears of blood would be flowing from her eye's soon, her stomach twisting in fear. But to his delight he found her rebelling against him"Yes..Fight me..your resistance pleases me.."He shivered in delight, licking his lips lewdly as she fought back"Oh such defiance! It has been far too long.."he severed the connection, breathing heavily"Thank you"He moaned"That was exquisite."
Nemesis sprung, hopping down through the crater and falling all the way down to the ballroom level to land on one of the Vampiric guests that had been wailing in terror, now crushed under the Lord General's boots.Nemesis drew his sword Soul Scream and marched through the crowd, carving a bloody path to the Emperor's Children. He didn't have time for subtlety,it mattered only that his lord's daughter's survive, everything else was secondary."Your highness"He drew the eldest into his reformed cloak,it's wards warming her from the chill."It is time for you and your sister's to leave"

Kelbora had watched his growing appearance with suspicion and drew her sword before her in a defensive gesture. When blood began to stream from the walls and swell over the invisible pool eternally around his feet, she hissed and drew back a step not wanting to touch the cursed blood. She could smell the sickly metallic odor of aged blood, and suppressed her disgusting yearning for it. But the moment Nemesis rose up and unleashed a wave of the viscus substance at her, she gasped and suddenly the world around herself and Nemesis went dark.
It was only the two of them...
And a thousand screaming souls.
Suddenly something slammed into her gut and brought her to her knees, her eyes wide and her grip on the broadsword weakening. Kelbora opened her mouth to breath and felt as though she were drowning in a sea of blood. It poured into her mouth, her throat, her stomach, and every limb of her body like leadened cement. Her lungs ceased to work, the sensation of being so full of liquid made her panic, and when the wave traveled up her nervous system into her brain the corruption traveled with it.
It was in her mind, and finally she could scream.
Darkness exploded in her mind and felt as though it were tearing her apart neuron by neuron. Memories, sensory, emotions were all being bombarded at once by incredible pain! Her blood was congealing in her veins and her brain felt as though it were melting within her skull. She was freezing cold one moment, just as she had been the night she died, and then burning in the fires of Hades the next. Her system was shocking out, and her heart was struggling to pump dead blood through her convulsing body. She even felt the agonizing darkness find the link she had with her Pomme de Sang and begin the assault on his mind. She felt the wicked spirit traveling through her and into him, letting him share her pain even though chances were the mortal would not survive. No! She couldn't let this happen! The link, she had to cut the link!
God, this ******** hurt!
Hurt, yes, pain! Pain meant life, she was alive! She wasn't some dredged soul sucked into the black abyss of this monster's shadow; she was alive!
Kelbora pushed back at the invading presence with all of her strength, and in finding her grip back upon the blessed sword she'd kept close for thousands of years the holy enchantments swept through her hand and into her body. It was a blissful and purifying presence that helped her slammed the metaphysical door to Dion's mind shut. Now that her Pomme de Sang was safe, she had to concentrate on herself.
Kelbora forcefully wretched open her aching eyes, a film of blood trailing down her face as she broke the seal that had held them shut. The invading darkness swelled against Kelbora's internal will to fight and the power of the blade, but soon ebbed and was pushed out of her like a demon exorcised from a tormented soul. As the blackness left her, oxygen filled her lungs once more and she collapsed to the ash covered floor.
The general broke off the connection and retracted any more attempts to destroy her mind as he had originally planned. He left the ruined landing to see to his charges on the ground floor, and Kelbora was left hacking and coughing out the remaining blood that had flooded her system.
Had she be a normal vampire, she would be dead...again.
She was shaking and weakened, she somehow managed to pushed her body up off the ground and slowly get to her feet, leaning on the remaining portions of the wall as she stood. She fought to clear out the little fluid left in her lungs and looked down to see the general with the three royal daughters preparing to take them through the surge of escaping guests barreling through the door.
No, if they all left then this mission was for nothing!
Getting her composure, and her shaking under control, Kelbora grabbed one of the .45 holstered on her leg, rose the weapon, and sighted down the General's head.
"Defy this, you son of a b***h," She hissed, her teeth clenched together as blood streamed down the corner of her mouth, and pulled the trigger.
The bullet fired out of the barrel and shot through the air like a fiery star. The bullets were all costume made by The Lady herself and made of silver, filled with silver-nitrate, and tipped with holy water and runes that were as poisonous as they were deadly to the undead.
Every kind of undead.
The bullet struck true and slammed right into the general's head, a spray of blood and bone matter exploded from the hole before exiting through the other side. And now that the holy bullet had tasted corrupted blood, the small missile exploded upon striking a pillar on the other side of its original target.
The marble blew apart and the lesser vampires near it screamed and were now running away from the exit as the stone tottered and crashed into the ground, barring the door. Several guests were squashed like insects while still more were now running in all directions trying to find other exits.
Did Kelbora celebrate having shot the general in the head? A fatal and clearly mortal wound? No, she knew better. It would take more than a blessed bullet through the brain to kill this b*****d. But she had done what she had set out to do...
She had hurt him and proven that he could bleed.
And if you can bleed, you can die.
Kelbora sheathed the sword, the Soul of Brightblade behind her back, but kept her gun in hand. She had trapped the guests, whether it would be for ten seconds or ten minutes, it didn't matter.
Kelbora pulled the C-3 patch out of her Velcro pouch at her side, the explosive looking like a sphere of clay in her hand. It was the only thing she had taken from the Wastelanders into this fight, and she had never intended to use it, but now seemed like the perfect time. Clamping her hand down on the sphere, Kelbora drew back her hand and threw it over the edge of the balcony as a glyph of darkness appeared beneath her feet, her shadow magic pooling around her.
Cocking the gun one last time, Kelbora took aim at the falling glob of C-3 and fired. The second the round struck the powerful plastic explosive, the small globe exploded and a torrent of fire burst outwards engulfing the ballroom, setting off the other charges Faer had planted earlier.
If people were screaming and shrieking before, then the cried of surprise, pain, and anguish now had no names. Vampires were highly flammable to begin with, and now if those touched were vaporized by the blast or living torches, the few who could cast protective magic were huddled down beneath shields of energy to prevent the hellish flames from consuming them.
The walls were rocked, windows blew out in millions of shards of glass, and the curtains and tapestries were eaten as they blew in the dance of the flames. Heavily armed guards from the streets had converged upon the building, trying to get people out while not being burned alive themselves. To the vampires, this evening had been a disaster of which would rock the undead aristocratic world.
The Wastelanders had struck and struck hard, and this wasn't even the main event.
Before the shadows receded from the blast, Kelbora wrapped herself in her magic to vanished with the ebbing tide of darkness...
But the magic failed and she felt to her knees in exhaustion. Damn it! That man's last attack had taken so much from her! She was powerless right now and she hated it. She knew that had this man not been able to tap onto the influence of his lord, the Emperor, had he not been so corrupted by the darkness and blood of innocents, been an Ancient, and had he not the powers of a necromatic nature she could have defeated him!
Now her mission was complete, and was up to the others to fulfill their ends.
Suddenly, Kelbora felt a hand on her shoulder and the sensation of being pulled back into nothingness, and after a familiar voice whispered in her ear, she relaxed and passed out.
She needed to recover her blood and energy supply, but she was so tired...
She would take care of her needs in the morning.

Faer was just about to point out that she had already set the charges on her way up when she was rudely interupted by the Lord General. She sighed melodramatically and watched with interest as Kelbora began the fight. They weren't quite even but Kelbora was quite quick and agile. But unfortunately the man was skilled, and an Ancient also.
"I believe it's time to go, neh?" Faer looked over to Glein and Lynn, then out the window to look at the moon. Her eyes dilated as she calculated that they had about 16 seconds to hightail it out of there before the timed charges when kapow. Good thing she had placed the strategically on the colums that held the floors up. Kerpow and the whole castle would fall in seconds.
Faer smiled energetically as she released her human form, transforming into the fey Elemental she truly was. She couldn't wait to see the surprise on the Lord General's face. She looked down through the crater in the floor and saw the Lord General leeching something from Kelbora. "Hm..." Leaping down, landing lightly on the ground in her impossible shoes she touched her hand on Kelbora's shoulder and broke any connection they had with her spirit magic. Quickly she cleansed Kelbora of the evil flowing through her veins.
Her face serious, she looked back at the Lord General, then up at Kelbora. "Time to go Kelbora-san. I know you don't like this but... Well. It's necessary." She looked back at the Lord General and smiled disarmingly, adding a little wave as she summoned her Void powers to wrap around herand Kelbora. It drifted though the hole in the ceiling and also wrapped around Glein and Lynn. Then, they disappeared.
The vision of everyone slowly returned and they found themselves in a shadowy realm where there was nothing but walkways and fog. Faer had taken them to the Void. It also seemed as if their was a bubble around them. It was her spirit magic forming a barrier to protect their minds and bodies.
"Sorry everyone but it was necessary. The charges will go off in..." Faer calculated the time it took her to do this and spoke again. "3... 2... and 1... Hell has been raised." Looking at them carefully she began to talk. "Now the Wastelanders should be dropping bombs but radios don't work here. And another must, stay close to me and under this bubble. This should only take an hour to get back to the edge of the Wastelander dampening shield, then we must go by foot, not too difficult, hmm?"
Faer was surprised when Kelbora fell in a dead feint. She caught her swiftly and leaned her down to the ground. "Oh my... This will prove quite the annoyance. Damn that General." Faer laid her hand against Kelbora's forehead and slowly her spirit magic seeped into her, replenishing a little of her energy and healing whatever small wounds the woman had and taking the edge off of the greater ones. "My healing powers aren't quite as developed as i'd hoped but this shall have to do for now. She'll need to feed soon Dion so be ready." She tossed him an apple and a cool bottle of water.
"Come on Kelbora, up you go." Lifting her seemingly easy, she cradled her before swinging her around and over her shoulders in a piggy-back fashion. "Off we go then."

[[OOC: XD lol No, yours was great and would have saved poor Kel a lot of trauma! Um...well...up to you. We could say that Faer's charges went off after Kelbora blew her's, and that because Kel was so weakened the shadow magic didn't work, Faer came, and transported to her the others in the Void realm for safe keeping. X3 Either way, loads of explosions, lots of blood, and good times. Sound good?]]

Though Nemesis's influence had left her body, her mind was a wreck, and what energy she had was burned up when fighting him off. Between using the great sword bestowed upon her ages ago, and defending her mind and body from the General's corruption, she had nothing left.
It had been a miracle she had even found the strength to raise her gun and set off the remaining charges.
Now as her mind was left in recuperative darkness whole her body remained in the realm of the Void. She was completely colorless, as white as one of the ghosts she had nearly become, felt as boneless and listless as a spineless cat. Though Faer's magic had recovered her internal injuries and stopped her loss of blood through the ruptured organs Nemesis's magic had burst, not enough time had passed for the vampire to naturally replenish her blood supply or energy.
The moment Faer hefted her lax body onto her back, Kelbora's grip on her gun gave way and the .45 clattered to the fog covered floor beneath them. The vampiress never noticed since she was still so lost in her comatose mind.
It was natural for vampires to go into states like this when they had expended too much energy or had take took much damage. It wouldn't last forever, but the sooner she got blood into her the faster she would wake.
Unfortunately, the last time she had fallen into this state had been more than 900 years ago, and so she never thought to teach her humans hosts how to treat a vampire who had slipped into a Recuperatory Coma.
Not that she cared right now...she was blind, deaf, and unaware of everything going on around her except for one thing.
Dion's close proximity was like the pull of a magnet to her damaged spirit, and as was natural for a Master Vampire to do with his or her Pomme de Sang, she began to slowly pull energy from him to rebuild the damage left unfixed within her. This would speed up the process, though not as much as blood since she and Dion hadn't been connected for very long.
At least her heart was beating again...it was an unnecessary comfort, but a comfort none the less. She would recover...and then there would be hell to pay.
