Neo Cloud Strife poor Cloud... how could they do that to it... and Seph could be longer, but Cloud's is wider... it would seem like Cloud can break his sword in a halve in one swing XD Cloud is a poser, and the only reason Aeris liked him was because he acted like Zack twisted As for the swords, they were both of a type used to do the same thing, killing a horse and rider. I have had the chance to pick up a to-scale replica of Sephiroth's masamune nodachi, it was nine feet long, and weighed only about 25 pounds. Buster swords like Clouds are bulky and usually required two people to wield, that being so they were useless for almost all intents and purposes. if the people of FFVII were subjected to normal gravity, Cloud would get a hernia strainging to lift the buster sword, and tifa would be flat on her face. Sephiroth on the other hand, has the proper musculature to still wield his weapon. I'm of the opinion Cloud was designed with that sword simply because it looked cool. Before you ask why then did they not give it to Seph if it looked so cool, is because Sephiroth's manner is supposed to be a bit more refined, as evidence by his graceful footwork in Advent Children, he moves like a fencer in catlike paces easily dancing circles around Cloud who is in his own clumsy manner trying to keep up with him. No hands down, Sephiroth is a better swordsman. As I've said Cloud merely got lucky. The first time he beat Sephiroth, the one winged angel had been severely injured by Zack, the Second time, Sephiroth was defeated by the Planet, and the third and final time because his host could not stand up to Cloud. The last two times were using Cloud's ultimate limit break Omnislash, which caught a wekened Sephirtoh by surpise. Cloud was lucky that Sephiroth continues to look down upon him and underestimate him, allwing Cloud to get in a few lucky shots.

Hey, no dissing the Zack. ^_^ Cloud was just a copycat, true, but Zack was awesome and the original. I think Cloud's sword is hollow, which would explain why he can lift it with those scrawny arms...

ooh!!! how can u make me choose?! cloud is so ******** up in the head, so i gatta love him automaticaly, but so is sephiroth, and sephiroth is so bad a** (just dont dis his mama), BUT he also kills aeris who is my favorite charictor in the game, and thats unforgivable in my eyes...so yeah, cloud, even though he only copied off of zack (zack is so cool!) heart

You dont even know much about him! I've seen Last Order, in which there is actually quite a bit about Zack. And Cloud was Zack in a way, which gives some insight. I didn't like Zack much up until a while ago, until I heard he was going to be shown a bit in Advent Children, so I did all the research I could about him, and read some really good fanfics with him in it (even wrote one ^_^) and just really started to like him.

I go for both of them equally. xd Cloud because he is the ultimate hero, and Sephiroth because he is the ultimate villian. Of course Sephiroth will always pawn Cloud, but its amusing to watch them fight. xd

myself, hands down.
come on! anyone who has seen the AD movie, remembers the last duel. do you remember the scene where Seph says:
What should i give you? maybe Despair? (or something like this)
and then all those debris start to fall on top of cloud. damn, that scene gave me the chills....
and besides, Masamune rocks...
