Maybe I'm beating at a dead horse here but I'm at work, feeling a little lethargic and decided that I can slack off by posting here instead.

It all began...

As a kid, as far as I can remember, I loved fighting. I love the feel of being capable of defending myself. I admired the Amazons, fell in love with the idea since I learned about them. And yes I was a Xena fan.

Moving on from that, it wasn't until I was 18 before my parents finally had to let me take martial arts. They said I was too violent, too unlady-like already. My poor parents. I never did quite turn out the way they wanted.

so how did I get started? I pulled open the community centre and went "eenie meenie mini mo" on the list of martial arts there are. I'm serious, I kid you not. I was incredibly lucky that I ended up with such a good school. I knew nothing, didn't do any research, and just jumped right into it.

As for how far I will go, I don't know. But it's part of my life, I love it with a passion and I think I'll it will always be a part of me no matter what, even if I have a family with three kids (doubtful). Well, if I have kids, they're just going to have to deal with it. I am not looking to be the best, to go to a certain dan, but simply just to keep at it, to learn skills and to be able to fight well. I have my own standards (namely right now, to be able to win in a spar with friends for once.) That's pretty much it.

Ha ... just started martial arts at 18 ... hmm ... reminds me of some people I know, they joined the Karate club at this age too ... (mainly because most students who enter Poly(technic) are around 17 to 18 ... ^ ^" )

Anyway, I don't think that martial arts are all that violent ... it is an art form with combat applications. Anyway, I know a lot of girls who take up Martial Arts ... and they weren't violent and unlady-like ... sweatdrop

Shhhush. XD
That's just her. We just like to keep that info on a low profile, though.
You never know who she might kill next if we talk about it. *scard, shifty eyes* XD

I HEARD THAT!

*gets out the bunny-skin peeler and the whip*

Well, my sis was going out with this dude, and he turned out to be a Martial arts instructor, and he took us to a lot of events. My mom signed us up for classes, and that's where it all began. Eventually, they broke up, and if it hadn't been for our karate classes, we wold have completely lost touch with him. But then I was put on the school demo team, and me and him just got closer and closer. Now, he takes me to a lot of practices and people are so used to us coming to class together, most think we're bor and sis, cuz we're like, both Filipino.
Ya, I know it's weird, but that's my beginning! ninja
