Well... I don't think that's a very good name for this topic... It doesn't give the nessisary glory. Oh well! I'm a bass clarinet player and I've been playing for about... a month now? Oh well I still love it. I pratice almost everyday and it pwns a flute. (What I used to play. I know odd swich....) But I feel bad for all of you that get forgotten about. These type of instruments are important because they have to work harder because there aren't as many of us. I'm glad that my bd doesn't pick favorites... he's told us that he doesn't like certain instruments but he doesn't treat us any different.

I played alto clarinet in wind ensemble, it was fun, alot of the music didn't have the part for my instrument, so I played 1st Eb alto sax, in concert and marching I play saprano clarinet, But i rotate my horns, my wood for a while, my brass for a while then my plastic for marching, brass is for marching as well.

my friend played the oboe, bassoon, all sax's, bassoon sounds pretty, our reg oboe player SUCKS!!!!!,but my friend is alright, and she is good at the sax's, mainly barit though. She made all-state on bassoon and 3rd on bari sax, they only take 1 though, she concentrated on her bassoon b/c she was learning.

our bass clarinet player is all-right, she could barely play the saprano clarinet, but one of our 2nd clarinets used to play the bass clarinet and she is SO loud and annoying b/c she is using bass clarinet air, I can play it only b/c I play alto clarinet

In my opinion bassoons are better than oboes unless it is professional, Even at Honor band the oboe players were horrible, pro sounds good though

same here. My BD don't even remember me cuz i'm the only bassoon in the whole band. One time at marching season, i have to sit out becuz he forgot to assign me a percussion instrument.
