Shellpath turned her head toward's Fleetingstar, her ears flicking forward, and she tensed up. It seemed no other cat besides Halcyontail was ready to speak. They were all a bit daunted.
"Though I dont think Ferstar liked the idea in the first place," she added, flicking Halcyontail with her tail as a sign of thanks for helping out. Shellpath knew full well she had become irritable since the prey shortage and could say the wrong things without thinking.
Moonshadow couldnt help the snarl of fury that excaped her throat. "Fleetingstar, you cant possible be thinking about lettingt hese theives go? They've stolen from us. Making an aggrement now would just make us seem weak!" Her hackles raised and a demented look prevailed in her eyes. Her fur fluffed upa nd claws unsheathed as if she were about to pouce. The demented she-cat did all she could to not attack without and order though.

A curious emotion welled up in Bramblestone. It was...happy...enough to make her bounce...relief. The sight of the bone-sacks that were stealing their prey took the fighting spirit out of the young she-cat. She no longer wanted to fight these warriors--it was neither honorable nor right. Her claws slid back into their sheaths.
Moonshadow's snarl slashed across the calm that had built inside of her, tearing it to shreds. Once more her claws shot out and she crouched, ready to pounce. Are we weak? she asked herself. I don't want to fight...but I don't want to seem weak... "Maybe..." she began slowly and softly, "maybe we are not weak if we share? Maybe we are, I don't know, strong enough to share..." Bramblestone gulped and stood her ground, waiting for her Clanmates' reactions.

Rainsong let out some of the breath she had been holding. Were these cats really going to help? She didn't say a word, for fear of saying the wrong thing. Instead, she watched, every muscle in her body tense.
"We're not weak of we help them," Hawkwing stated from where he stood gazing at all the cats. "We'll be strong if we show the other clans that we are so great that we have prey to spare, don't you think?" Hawkwing flicked his tail and grinned. It was good to uphold the warrior code, but so was avoiding bloodshed and death. Besides, he couldn't stand the idea of fighting bonebags.

Passioncharm joined the rest of the Riverclan cats and felt a bit braver then before, he hissed slightly and flattened his ears ready to fight when Fleetingstar touched one of the other warriors. His aggression left him as they talked, Windclan had every right to attack them, but they hadn't. Guilt started to take over his emotions and he hung his head. They were so hungry though, Windclan would have done the same.
Tornadotail had to pace a bit to keep from diving onto the Riverclanners. But as the conversation went on Tornadotail calmed taking to walking round the Riverclanners as almost to cut off an easy flee. He sat and simply grinned, how weak they looked, but he new better than to under estimate them. Even a cat weak from hunger could be a dangerous one, desperate cats do desperate things.
"Rather we will seem weak or not I think what you all are forgetting that the choice of rather an agreement will be made or not is between Fleetingstar and Fernstar. Besides my fellow clan mates, where I came from we had a saying, nothing is for free."
Tornadotail curled his tail around his paws seeming quite comfortable at the moment. He knew that if an agreement was made Riverclan would owe one to Windclan. They could ask for help later on when they needed it, or even use it as a bargaining chip for a bit more land or drinking space from the river.

Though Flurrytwist was still tense from anticipation of a battle that could yet break out, she was beginning to dare hope that they might be allowed to go free. The majority of the Windclan cats seemed to be sympathizing with the starving Riverclan, though there were still a few cats that seemed like they would jump at any chance to attack. Flurrytwist made sure to keep still and look at nonthreatening as possible, though he made sure to plant his feet firmly, just in case.

Whitewater followed Tornadotail around the group with her eyes, bristling with thwarted rage. Out of all the WindClan cats, something about this particular warrior's attitude struck a nerve. That smug grin, for one. "Do you think this is funny?" she snarled suddenly. "What if it was your Clan, you rabbitbreathed-" The insult slipped ahead of her jaws, which snapped shut before any more stupidity could jump free. Still, she held her chin up high, not about to back down or apologize now that the challenge was made.

Hawktail listened to the two clans banter back and forth, tipping her head to the side a little and twitching her whiskers thoughtfully. When one of them suddenly spoke out against Tornadotail, she grinned to herself, "Oh ho, They're rather fiesty for starving prey-thieves!"
She twitched her tail a few times before wrapping it about herself again, "Even so, I don't really see the harm in allowing them a few rabbits, and I'm actually a little impressed that these soggy-pawed cat-fish can actually catch them. Starclan doesn't seem to mind either, in case anyone noticed..." The brown tabby's voice drifted as if she weren't completely interested in the territory feud, and she didn't seem to have a problem saying whatever came to mind. Yellow-green eyes fixed themselves on Fleetingstar's form, wondering what their leader would decide.

"Hmp." Tornadotail smirked a bit flexing his claws just daring for a fight to start . "First off that's not much of an insult is it? I mean if my breath smells like rabbit it's because I've been eating my fill on it. Second, you misplace my smile, if I thought this was funny I would be laughing. My smile is for the pure fact that I know we have the upper paw. My clan has suffered before and I would be stupid if I thought we wouldn't ever again, but one can't help, but enjoy knowing that your clan if well and fairing better than others."
Tornadotail put his claws away and turned his head to Hawktail as she spoke. "The harm is that it is against the warrior code, what we live by and stand by. If they were so desperate, their leaders should have contacted ours. It's not like we're heartless, but we could have been starving as well. The rabbits they caught could have been fresh kill we needed. Anyways I've said more than I need to." Tornado said blinking seemingly getting bored with the whole thing. He looked towards the sky partly out of boredom and partly as an insult to the Riverclanners.

Rollinggust was very much relieved to know that they were more than likely going to help out the other clan. It was quite obvious that they weren't going to get along too well though, but it would have to due. She wondered about chipping in a few words, but did not, in fear that they could some how start some kind of sudden clash. Everything seemed very too delicate now to make a single risk... I'm am glad Fleetingstar is a leader of kindness and strength... She glanced over at Moonshadow, a ambitious cat always looking for a fight would not stabilize and unify a clan much less than the four...

Rabbitbreath, indeed, wasn't much of an insult - how she'd planned to finish that statement was a different story. It was nice to know she had some form of restraint. "I don't care what happened to your Clan." Whitewater said coldly. "That doesn't give you the right to lord it over us. You make me sick." She spat in his direction and turned away, a useless gesture as he was already looking at the sky, but it made her feel better. "Go ahead and gloat. StarClan will only see you for the arrogant worm you are."
To be honest, Whitewater didn't know what happened to WindClan many moons ago. By the time the Blue River Travelers arrived home it had become old news. Still, knowing wouldn't change her reaction to Tornadotail - she may have regretted her first statement, but that would be all.

Fleetingstar bristled at the harsh words exchanged between the cats. Hunger and cold can make anyone snappy it seems. Would reaching an agreement with Riverclan really soothe tensions and stop them from prey stealing? He could only hope, and that's something he didn't do that often.
"These thieves will receive some sort of punishment, but their leader should have some say in what would it be, since it's their cats." He couldn't exactly think of what to do with them anyway. There's nothing he can do worse than what they've been through already.
"And I suggest that you keep your insults to yourself. That goes for everyone." The leader snarled at everyone. It would be harder to negotiate things if the warriors were at each others throats.
"If Riverclan is willing, I can make the trip to see Fernstar or Mothstar now and speak with them."
((Halcyontail has nothing to say. XP; ))

Moonshadow fely as if a rabit was slipping right through her claws.
"Even if we do make an agreement, these pebblebrained slack-faced mud eating theives must be taught a lesson or they may assume they can get away with it again!" Moonshadow's voicewas cracking with uncontrolable rage. Its a wonder shes even let out of camp.
Shellpath turned her face towards Tornadotail. Her voice was cool and her ears flicked calmly. Sound and ground or water vibrations and scent were her only way of 'seeing,' so flicking her ears was a habit. "Whitewater is right. You are acting a little smug from the sounds of it. Just because we're starving doesnt mean any one of us would fight you, or die trying to keep our Clan alive. We could still leave some nast scars on your mug if it came to it. I understand that a Clan enjoys knowing its srong, but there no need to rub it in others whiskers. I personally find it kit like that a cat would act so smugly faced with a starving Clan. I also find it unwise and foolish to try and make us jelous or mad," She meowed simply, and turned back to face Fleetingstar's directions, ignoring the demented she-cat behind her.

Tornatotail's attention flicked back to the Riverclan cats. The smile wasn't there anymore, but he wasn't frowning either. "It is your choice to make of it what you will, but you must understand I am not unsympathetic or out to rub your nose in it. If anything I smile because, the last time we were in trouble we asked for an agreement instead of breaking the code. I don't blame you for what you do, I would fight tooth and nail before I let my clan die off, but I would try other things before breaking the code I now live by." Tornadotail's ears twitched as Fleetingstar spoke, he turned his head to her and nodded though as far as insults went he had not out right spoke any insult.

Whitewater snorted softly, but mentally backed down from the battle. She did give Shellpath a nod, thanking her for the support. "I consent, but only if Fleetingstar will leave some warriors behind." Her gaze lingered on Moonshadow. Fernstar was extremely weak. If this she-cat decided to attack first and apologize later, their leader would hardly be able to protect herself.
The white warrior sat down on her haunches, waiting to hear what the rest of RiverClan thought. It took a lot of willpower to not jump forth, take control.

Rollinggust had to resist the urge to whack Moonshadow with her tail, but said and did nothing. Fleetingstar said they would be punished! What more did she want? What more was there to do? She wanted to sigh at the exchange between Tornadotail and the Riverclan cats, but there was nothing that could be helped. Sitting down now she began to ponder just how bad it was at Riverclan. These seemed like noble warriors, how could they be reduced to stealing prey?
