Kranza's voice echoed in Travis' mind, 'Is that what you really think? If so then leave now, you cannot save this world if you give up on yourself so easily, never give up hope. You can fix this, you can find him, close your eyes and focus on him, how it felt when he was there, his essence, once you have it in your mind mold that essence, and find it, then hunt down Fatal and give him my offer once more, if he doesn't agree to at least speak with me, then do what you must.'

Hanabi and Fatal appeared in the underground caverns, directly underneath Teishoku. Since Hanabi had been here before, the chances of them appearing in solid rock was zero. She chanted another spell which made several small balls of light appear around them. "Here we are!" she said.

Fatal glanced around. They were preciously close to the Assist Spring... that was very good. However, more important deeds awaited. Although it was hardly noticeable, after they had teleported, Fatal no longer possessed in his hands the trophy of the previous battle... with Geno.
"Okay... this is weird," Fatal stated. He frowned as he tried to focus his magic and detect Kasai and the Beast's location.
He could not.
"I know that they are down here. But..."
Fatal turned to Hanabi.
"You've magical abilities. Can you detect any life down here?"

"Hm?" Hanabi looked puzzled at first. "Um, no, not really. There's usually no one down here anyways."

After trailing off, Fatal spun in a 360-degree circle.
"Odd."
Fatal then began walking in a random direction.

Hanabi followed Fatal. "Do you know your way around these caverns? You can get lost if you just wander around aimlessly," she said. The floating balls of light followed Hanabi. They resembled fireflies, but bigger in size and did not turn off and on.

"Teleportation always works," Fatal replied absently, continuing to walk. "I plan to look for any traces of recent life. I absolutely must find the people who are down here."

"They could be," Fatal replied, still walking. "I tried to correspond, but... my magic isn't as effective as yours, I think. I was never good at transfiguration or telepathy. Can't really sense them. What kind of magic do you specialize in, anyway?"

"Spells and charms," Hanabi said. She made a thick, huge book appear in her hands. "I guess my magic is strong, but I still have to refer to this huge book a lot. Though I learned how to do a memory charm the other day, so I've been remembering my spells better!" She smiled happily as she made the book disappear.

Fatal stopped, to take a small break from walking, and turned to face Hanabi, intrigued. His eyes gleamed with interest. "Any particular spells? You seem to have quite a potential, Hanabi, even if you are not yet armed with learning."
For which, Fatal was quite the opposite. His knowledge knew almost no bounds, but in practicing magic he found that he was not a natural. Hanabi... she was young, and did not seem to know much, but Fatal could sense potential.
There was no doubt that, using his reservoir of powerful magic, Fatal could defeat such a novice spellcaster. But as for pure magical power, Fatal was lacking. He had no magical talent, only hard and diligent work.
Hanabi... might prove to be a suitable apprentice, if Fatal found himself searching for such a figure.
Things were... interesting. And, thought Fatal, intriguing....

Hanabi shrugged. "Any spells really. Though I'm not that good with destruction or elemental spells yet. I like charms better anyways."
