Eric had a piece he was about to eat when Rai asked the question. "Yes, old family recipe." Eric offered the piece to Rai to try.

Rai smiled and took a bite, not bothering to pick up the fork himself. He chewed and swallowed, "That's delicious. Truly amazing." He smiled, his vision a little blurry. He poured himself another glass. "My mother used to make Shepard's Pie, but it was never that good," he took another sip.

"I did have to make some changes to it. Upgrade it a little bit." Eric separated another piece and held it out to Rai

Rai leaned forward and took another bite. "Mmm, it really is good." He took another sip of his scotch. "Have you cooked before?" Another refill.

"All the time. I cooked since I was a teen since I haven't lived at home since I was roughly the age of 14." Eric had another drink and took the bottle from Rai to fill his own glass.

"Oh? Why?" He reached for the glass and poured a bit more into his glass. He handed the bottle back to Eric.

"I left home to travel." Eric had a few more bites of the pie before offering the rest to Rai.

Rai smiled and took what was offered to him. "Where did you travel to?" He finished the pie rather quickly and swallowed it down with more scotch.

Eric poured himself another scotch and moved the bottle out of Rai's reach. "Pretty much everywhere I'd spend a week in one place and then moved to the next."

Rai reached for the bottle, but gave up half way. "Why'd you do that?" He gave a half smile and giggled.

"Do what?" Eric decided to play dumb but he knew full well what Rai meant, yet the whole time they'd been sitting there his eyes had not once come into contact with Rai's

"Well that's the whole point of traveling, to move around and see things." Eric poured himself another glass and swallowed it in one go before getting up to grab the plate and leant in a little too far forward that he nearly was half way in Rai's lap.
