"touché," Zufall smiled. He she was a good voice of reason for him. He was always getting caught in awkward or strange situations. "It stinks in here and i have a bad feeling now. Like danger is approaching us," Zu said. He grunted when she picked him up. He nodded at what she said and peeked around to see where she hid herself, then disappeared back behind the cross.
The rumbling grew and came to a halt near the back of the building. A door opened and closed and standing there were two humans. They walked into the Church and checked the trap.'oh crap... just like me to find dust in a frozen place like this' Zufall thought as he sneezed rather loudly. The humans who had started to leave the building Jumped and turned around pulling out two big sticks.

Kartala felt her muscles bunch under her fur. There was no way they were going to hurt Zu. The humans were odd looking, concidering she had never seen them before. She only knew of birds that walked on two legs. Her head whiped in the direction of Zu's sneez and she watched anxiously as the humans brought out what looked to be sticks. She looked perplexed at them, what would they do with sticks?
Kartalas gold eyes followed the humans. If they happened to stumble uppon Zu, she would definatly act. If he kept quiet though, there was a good chance that they would find neither of them and just leave. She hoped this would be the case.

Zufall gave Kartala a look that said I'm Sorry. He looked around trying to find something to use to distract the humans. They were approaching his hiding spot. He thought it over again. He thought he could make it out of the building before they caught him. They seemed to be clumsy on two feet. He glanced back over at Kartala and prepared himself to run for the exit.((I want to throw in a Northern Helix, but I can't decide between Kristen or Kora. Which do you think?))

Kartala saw what he was getting ready to do and stood suddenly from her hiding spot. Her teeth were bared as she snarled and growled at the humans to take their attention off of Zu. Her hackles were raized and her ears were back, all of her muscles were bunched together, ready to spring upon the humans any moment. "Zu! You stay where you are!" She barked out, her golden gaze not leaving the humans.
(( Either or is fine to me, but maybe Kora, since she seems the most menacing? ))

((Kora it is))  Kora had seen the two helixes walk into the building that was known to humans as Church and then saw the Snowcat pull up and knew that there was going to be trouble. She was already three fourths of the way to the building when she heard the pup sneeze. that was closely followed by a barked order from the Female helix. Kora paused to look in the window and saw the humans raising their guns. She charged inside and tackled one of the humans her maw grabbing his wrist. As they fell to the ground she rolled over and scratched him with the spikes on her shoulder blade. she rolled off of him and jumped up to where the Female Helix was. "You should have stayed down, but no time now get outside I'll get the pup," Kora growled hoping the female listened to her. She turned back to the humans Snarling.Zufall saw Kartala stand. She looked scary with her hackles up ready to fight. He saw the humans raising the sticks in their hands. He looked around and quickly found something to knock over. Distracting one of them while the other continued to point the stick at Kartala. The one he had distracted found him and pointed the stick at him. He saw Kora come flying in and take out the human that was pointing the gun at Kartala. The human yowled something at the one pointing the stick at Zufall and the stick let out a small pop. Zufall noticed something sticking out of his side but he was starting to feel all groggy and tired. He collapsed onto the floor.

Kartala growled low, fighting with the fact that Zu had been hit with something and what the other helix was ordering her to do. Concidering this female was of higher rank than she, she shook her head, took a whining glance at Zufall and ran from the building. She stood in the cold, fur still on end, waiting for Zu and the new helix to show up. Worry was etched on her face. "Oh yes, first time to the northern territory and humans try to kill us, thats wonderfull."

Kora jumped off the rafter and landed on the last human standing. she grabbed his throat in her powerful maw and ripped it out. He collapsed to the ground and didn't move. Kora sighed. She hadn't been planning on killing them yet. If it was for any other reason she wouldn't have but she couldn't let them take another pup. She shivered as if she were cold. She spat the human's blood on the ground then grabbed the pup by the scruff on his neck and hefted him up off the ground. She carried him outside and left the one human alive crawling towards the vehicle which he arrived in. She knew he would freeze before he made it though.
Kora stopped next to Kartala. "We need to get him out of the cold," She said nodding towards Zufall. "Then we can introduce ourselves. I have a nice cave just over there," she added nodding towards the nearest mountain. Kora picked Zufall back up and started towards the mountain.

Kartala noded, still worried, as she followed the female to her cave. It was surprising to see that this female lie rather close to where her parents resided, but she didn't voice these opinions. She was traveling right now, to get away from her brother.

Kora trotted into her cave. It was just big enough for all of them. She set the Pup down on a nest made of branches and grass that were not from the North. "My Name is Kora. You probably have many questions. You smell like the pack that lives near here," She said looking at Kartala.

"They are, they are my parents and siblings who reside there." Kartala looked at the female and then looked at her paws. She missed them, and would probably visit soon but not right now. "Do the humans go there often and check that place?" She looked at the seemingly asleep Zu and back at the female. "It looked as though they were hoping to see helixes there."

Kora considered what Kartala said "So you don't live with them?" Kora asked. She knew that the humans frequented the little church until at least ten years ago. The last helix who monitored the area had informed her of the circumstances and had asked her to monitor it so no Helixes got caught. "The humans used to go their often until one of them got killed by a helix a while back. They put that silver crate in there hoping to catch Helixes and punish them. I got stuck in there once and they took me away. They used the same thing on me as they used on pup. The humans call them 'Tranquilizers.' Anyway They check that crate once a week. I'm Kora and I watch to make sure no helix gets harmed by the humans. More will come tomorrow to check on Them. I bet they'll be really mad when they find out their friends are dead," Kora explained to Kartala.

"Ah, no I dont live there. My brother....well its besides the point." Kartala listened to the explinations and shook her head. "Thats horrible. Maybe they will quit trapping then, since their friends continue to be killed. He fur bristled at the memory and she shook her head. "Im Kartala."

"Maybe they will, but they probably won't. The humans are stubborn," Kora said looking a little grim. "That's why I'm here. It's nice to meet you Kartala. So the pup's name is Zu? or is it a nickname? He's obviously not from around here," Kora added smiling a little.

Kartala noded. "His name's Zufall." She looked at the female "You must have a pretty full job. Or have the helixes been figuring it best not to go arround there?"

"Ah that's quite an interesting name. When the humans had me I heard one say it," Kora said glancing over at Zufall. 'He should have awakened by now. Perhaps the humans were putting more of that drug in their tranquilizers now.' She thought briefly before turning back to Kartala. "The job has slowed down but there is still the occasional person who wanders through and gets into trouble. Not many know and only the ones from different territories go into the building anyways," Kora said. She paused then asked "I have a question for you. Have you ever been to the other territories?"
