Since he couldn't allow this new taijutsu to become predictable, Sukotto decided that he would need to change directions in more ways than one. In the previous moves in the kata, he had turned ninety degrees to his left, one hundred and eighty degrees to his right, and then ninety degrees to his left. This time, he decided that he would attempt to turn two hundred and seventy degrees to his left, effectively throwing off any opponents that were to his immediate right. This motion could also be incorporated into some sort of throw that could be the start of a taijutsu-ninjutsu combination, but Sukotto decided to cross that bridge when he arrived, not beforehand.
To his surprise, the Uchiha actually managed to complete the full turn and throw a powerful roundhouse kick without tripping. He had originally expected that he would need to work on the turn multiple times before successfully landing it, but it had been like he had known how to execute it all his life. He shook his head slightly and realized that he had become slightly stunned do to the shock of completing the turn. Sukotto quickly threw a few swift punches and another speedy kick to complete the direction.

From this point, Sukotto figured that it would be a good idea to set the core techniques of the kata into motion. He would do a few combinations in a couple of different directions and then eventually move back to his original position from whence he started and repeat the steps that he would develop in this segment. For now, however, he would perform a one hundred and eighty degree turn to his right and follow up with some more blocks and kicks, hoping to keep this part fairly simplistic since it involved another large turn.
Sukotto figured that a few simple moves would fit in nicely with the large direction change, but something about it just didn't feel right. He decided to try and think up a new strategy that would fit in more nicely. Originally, he didn't want to place a powerful kick into this particular direction since the roundhouse after the two hundred and seventy degree turn was quite powerful itself. However, the Uchiha wasn't an expert at taijutsu and knew this fact well, so he thought that it couldn't hurt to at least attempt to incorporate two powerful techniques close together.

After returning to the position that he had been in before he had attempted the turn, Sukotto closed his eyes and attempted to visualize exactly what sort of kick he wanted to try. Another roundhouse kick would make the kata look symmetrical, and while one may think that repeating moves would be predictable, it wasn't as if he would be directly using the kata while in a fight. Rather, he would be referring to it as if it were an instruction manuel for his body to follow to successfully use his taijutsu. Making it so he knew how to do roundhouse kicks with both legs and in multiple directions wouldn't cause his moves to be predictable in the least; indeed, quite the opposite would occur.
The roundhouse in the opposite direction felt like it was just what the kata needed to be successful. It was as if Sukotto were making the outline of a phoenix in the ground that he was moving along. If he focused too much power on one wing, then the bird would tip over and lose its graceful ability to fly and execute techniques in an effective manner. This made the Uchiha realize that he needed to think about strategy a little less and simply go with the flow of the kata, almost allowing it to develop itself.

Senritsu's smile widdened when her male counterpart agreed with her. Perhaps there was yet another mind who could comprehend her ways of thinking without having to take time to explain it. Then again, he had yet to see her mind to its awake and full nature. His every moment could never escape her gaze. His facial expression when he spoke of his former team seemed to be an odd one, but it was understandable that she would not understand what feelings of attachement he'd have to the tree. Her always critisizing green eyes memorized every bark fragment, every cut, every tiny insignificant ant that ran up the rough edges of bark that held tight to the tree. Senritsu made sure to keep her ears open to her speaking partner as she continued to stare blankely at the tree.
So, this Shuga was his leader? Never heard of her, but she sounded decent. Senritsu never did pay attention to anything more than she was interested in. Besides, if she did, then her attention to detail would be scattered and stretched far from her center-point of focus, making what she catches less and less accurate. Her green eyes snapped to the male Uchiha as she heard they 'drifted apart'. "Meant to be? No such thing in my eyes. Everything has a reason, even a tiny minute little one, but there is no coincidence, or fate or 'meant to be'. It's the science of the world you know, nothing can survive unless some reaction was made before it. The moon's gravity pulls the water in the ocean creating those beautiful waves does it not? You don't suppose we get our grass out of no where either do you? it needs water from the clouds and the sun from far space and it needs nurishment from the ground. You might think these things have nothing to do with you and your old team but it does. It's merely a lesson you need to learn. That everyone needs to learn. But then again, why would you listen to me? I'm only a young girl who knows nothing of the outside world other than what she's read in books or seen with her own eyes." Senritsu stared blankly at Sukotto for a moment or two. There was really nothing more for the girl to say, so she merely smiled her little smile to him and began to sway her head from side to side in a rather silly and childish way to further add to her last little comment.
"Taijutsu, huh? Fighting, hand-to-hand combat. You have to be a quick thinker and have quick reflexes to be a master of that don't you?" Little Sen returned her gaze to him as he spoke of creating one and continued on with speaking of them being of the same clan. "Ah, yes. Perhaps, then again, perhaps not. Maybe I have no blood of the clan you do, but merely the name. Then again, maybe I do, who knows. Unless there's a blood test of some sort to confirm it or some crazy test to go through, I doubt the possiblity. The blood of the clan who owns this symbol is far in my family's past. I have no way of telling if I hold any part of the blood inside me. But for now, to make it easier on us both, lets agree on the fact I hold the name Uchiha as my last." Senritsu giggled before watching her newly found family member fail at an attempt to do something or another. She clapped for him as he landed on his feet though, "Woot! Nice landing!" The messy haired girl said, cheering for him with her silly little smile.

As Sukotto's arms and legs fluidly moved through the kata that he was creating, a slight smirk began to curl across his face. He found it truly wonderful that a young girl had already done so much thinking for her young age and could express it clearly. In an attempt to hide the obvious look that had been painted on his face, he swept his arms near his mouth, making it seem as if he were creating another block to use in his taijutsu. Surprisingly enough, this feign worked quite nicely with the roundhouse kick that he had just thrown into the air, so he decided to work with it and followed up by turning ninety degrees to his left.
The male shinobi actually agreed with his female counterpart's opinion about fate. He felt his insides slightly twist and churn as the thought of Ichi swept through his mind. Sukotto didn't believe that his foster uncle's death was something that had been crafted by some higher power, but merely a miscalculation on Shimagakure's behalf. The kage of the village shouldn't have had to take such a powerful opponent on by himself, no matter how much respect Ichi had earned throughout his short life. It was exactly as Senritsu said, his death had hundreds of tiny little reasons for happening, but was not something that was strictly meant to be.
He shifted his gaze towards her and spoke in a calm and smooth voice, as if the kata of his Phoenix form taijutsu had caused some sort of euphoric aura to embrace the Uchiha, calming the very thoughts that had nearly consumed his mental being. "I understand your point and completely agree. You will have to forgive me for writing the subject off so hastily, as I merely figured that you weren't truly listening to what I was saying, which has been the case for me many times in this village." Sukotto presented Senritsu with a weak smile and continued to move through the motions of the dance of his taijutsu while he continued to respond. "If I want to be a master of the taijutsu that I'm creating, quick thinking and speedy reflexes are a must. However, other taijutsu rely on brute force or blind fury and they can be just as effective as the former. As for your relation to the Uchiha clan, I can see the Uchiha within you and I am positive that it isn't simply a last name."

Senritsu could see Sukotto's little smirk before he had time to hide it with a weak and futile effort. He should have realized his movements were caught in every way, shape and form as long as he was in her sight. As for now, he was the focal-point in her eye sight. Senritsu had to hold herself from showing the slight taken-a-back feeling she had when he spoke to her in a voice that was quite odd. Something felt odd, like he'd realized something he had earlier not known of. Though, she couldn't help but smile when he once again agreed with her. "Me? Not truly listening? Dear, sir, you need to realize what kind of a person I am. I study in instants, I take down notes mentally, I never forget a movement of word or sentence or monolague I've ever been in contact with." She gently tapped the side of her head and smiled. "Basically, every single instant I've ever come in contact with is right here in my head. My family history, as well as any books I've read, any conversations, any tiny bug on the floor, all noted and shall never be forgotten, now, let me ask you, can you do such a thing?" She giggled and kept quiet to hear what else he had to say.
"Ah...perhaps some day you may be willing to show me this technique you're working on? I'd love to learn something that deals with intelligence. Strength and forcing things isn't really my thing, so Taijutsu wouldn't be my exact specialty, but if it has to deal with thinking and would help me with protecting myself, then I'd love to learn it if you'd be willing to teach. Speaking of, I'd love to learn anything you'd be willing to show me. After all, you are an elder to me aren't you? I'd love to learn from someone as experienced as you are. As for the last name, feel free to think as you like. I am willing to agree you have your own opinions as everyone does, but let me say, I shall not completely believe it until you can prove it to me 100%. I do like to be sure of things you know." Senritsu giggled again and sat herself down on the floor, crossing her legs and leaning back against the tree to watch and wait for whatever else Sukotto had to say to her.

Sukotto noticed that Senritsu was seeing more deeply into him than he had originally anticipated. This slight surprise threw him off and he made a few mistakes in his kata, mistakes that caused him to take a few steps back to analyze a better strategy for executing his moves. Since any attempt to hide his true emotions would obviously futile in the presence of the clever girl, he decided to open up a little, a rarity for the lone wolf Uchiha. His face lit up when she expressed interest in the technique that he was creating. Only a few months prior to this moment, Sukotto had been the one running around and asking higher ranking shinobi to train him; it seemed as if the duty had fallen into his hands. "I would definitely show you this technique if I could. However, I haven't finished it yet and I don't think that you are quite ready to take it on." Sukotto didn't want Senritsu to think that he had underestimated her once again, so he explained. "This taijutsu requires a lot of speed and it took me months of running to get myself fast enough for it. I would be totally willing to get you up to speed, but it will take patience and a lot of hard work."
The Uchiha smiled reassuringly as his heart began to race. The thought of training the girl excited him and ideas for exercises immediately began to pour into his mind. However, he already sensed that he was getting carried away and quickly allowed these thoughts to fade. Starting simple and building a relationship with Senritsu would be the most important element for now. "Why don't we start with something fun and easy? Prove to me how powerful that mind of yours is by telling me about your favorite book. Don't just explain the plot, but tell me what it truly means to you." Feeling satisfied, Sukotto flowed back into his kata, launching kicks into the air and preparing to block and deflect assaults from the ground.

Senritsu smiled slightly as she noticed his back track. He was an odd one, and perhaps now he was realizing she knew more than he anticipated. It was about time. Her smile quickly faded as he informed her that he was unable to teach her. Her mind sharpened to a point as her eyes took his in. Not ready? She was young, yes, untrained, perhaps, but she was always willing to give something a try when she wanted to. Listening, she quickly took the information and processed it. "Speed? Something that can be done with the body in a decent amount of time, hard work and patience are defintely not what I'm made from though. I'm rather an impatient person but if need be, I can always occupy my mind as a work my body to get ready for what you wish to give me. I'm always up for a challenge." She smiled, as she noticed he seemed to be getting a little worked up over something. It would only take a matter of time before she'd know him well enough to even anticipate what his mind was processing. Subtle signs and movements would give his mind away the more she learned of him.
"Hm...fun and easy...sounds good." Senritsu listened to him as he told her to think of her favorite book. "Book...well...Hm...I'm not really into stories...I'm more into books that deal with the mind and how it works. Take one such as 'Humanity', it's a book that speaks of how different each person's mind works. I remember in the first few chapters all it spoke of were the feelings and mental capabilities of people. Nothing I didn't already know. Feelings are caused by sparks in the brain through different nerve endings. If you feel pain, you can either feel sad or angry. If you are told lies or left alone you feel the same. Then after that it just depends on the person's personality which is just as unique and singular as a finger print you and I have. No two people are alike, but some can be surprisingly similar. Rather interesting book I say."

The shinobi was confident in his kata and began to put the finishing touches on it. He could easily see that he had unintentionally stirred up a little fire within Senritsu, but that much was to be expected from one with a strong mind. He had only meant that it simply wouldn't be possible for her to learn the technique until she had thoroughly trained her agility. He would have taught her in a heartbeat if he could have, but from what Sukotto could tell, she had the spirit to develop everything that she needed to successfully learn it. While Sukotto worked at his kata, he intently listened to her method of training. It sounded as if she was describing how he trained when he was having trouble in a particular area. He would allow himself to get caught up within his own mind and let his body do the work on its own while he basked in the various thoughts that flowed through his conscience.
In all honesty, Sukotto would have been surprised if Senritsu's favorite book would have involved some sort of cliche plot that firmly held the interests the many. He could tell that she, like himself, would be interested in content that actually fed one's mind instead of simply numbing it. The material that she spoke of acted like kindling to the flame that was the Uchiha's mind. Like his female counterpart, he had already known many of the things that she spoke of. However, hearing it in structured sentences really put it into perspective for him. Every person had similar core feelings and emotions, but each individual had different levels of each and responded to them in different ways. To truly discover who a person was, one had to understand their reasons for reacting to situations in certain ways. With this knowledge, one could begin to build a real relationship with that person, whether they be friend or foe. The Uchiha remained silent as he took the final steps in his kata, quietly waiting for Senritsu to either continue with her description or move on to another.

Senritsu only sat still as her eyes kept watch over him. He seemed to be thinking of something other than what his body was up to. She bit her lip as she wondered what it was the Uchiha male could be thinking in that head of his. Too bad there wasn't a mind reading Jutsu she could learn. She smirked and held her tongue to keep from laughing at the thought. Perhaps if he could create a Jutsu of his own, she could as well later on. Her mind then returned itself to what it was supposed to be focusing on in the first place. The book. Every word the book told her was in her mind as she mentally sped through sentences and chapters. Some speaking out to her more than others, some, completely unusable in conventional conversation. Her mind reread through the seemingly endless chapters of feelings and capabilities before moving onto something she found might be of help to Sukotto.
"I do remember from chapter 9 talking about how the mind was connected to the body in a way that is rather strange. If you are weak in mind, you are weak in heart, you are weak in soul, you are weak in body. Everything is interconnected. Such as when you feel sick, your mind is slow, as is your body. When you are happy you are more hyper and willing to do things. When you are just feeling nonchalaunt you are willing to go your own pace. When you feel not up to speed your body reacts in the same way. So for me, I'm feeling relaxed and so is my body, see? Posture shows it too. For you, your mind is set on completing what it is you're doing even when your body is weakened, so, as you are now, still trying your hardest to do what you need to do. The mind can be a powerful, don't you think...with a single thought it'll change the way your body reacts and how strong you are. I'm sure you've heard it before many times but..." Senritsu's green eyes stared to his face as a smile entered her lips. "Don't ever give up anything, no matter how much you know you should, or how much people tell you that you have to, or how much your body can't go on. Never give up on something you want. It would be stupid and futile to go through everything you've ever been through just to go give up on something, you know?"

Unfortunately, Sukotto still felt that something was missing from the ending of his kata, so he continued to work through the steps and wouldn't cease until he felt it was near perfection. Since Senritsu seemed to have the ability to perceive his expressions and thoughts quite well, he had felt a little shy at first. However, the Uchiha was beginning to relax and actually found a lot of comfort in knowing that someone could actually understand him so well. In all honesty, he had felt a little alone in Shimagakure since barely anyone had seemed to understand him previously. In fact, Ichi had been the single member of the village who seemed to have a grasp of who Sukotto truly was. While he had just met Senritsu, the Uchiha felt that it wouldn't take long before she knew him quite well. Even if this was true, he realized that this would only be true if she continued to be interested in knowing more about him.
Shaking off the thought of her potentially losing interest in him, Sukotto looked over to her as she described the ninth chapter of her book and nodded in agreement. "I believe that sheer willpower is something that separates a lot of people. And if you truly want something," the thought of leading his own squad came to mind,"then you should push for it until you can't push anymore, regardless of worldly restrictions that may get into your way." Senritsu understood the importance of chasing after a goal and Sukotto was very happy to hear of it. More importantly, her words weren't merely coming from the pages of a book. It was obvious that she had truly thought these things through and wasn't reciting text to him, but instead displaying exactly what kind of person she was. This thought warmed Sukotto's entire frame and he felt that what his kata had been lacking was a soul to live off of. The Uchiha would lend his own soul to the taijutsu style, making it his very own and increasing its effectiveness tenfold.

Senritsu's eyes had been cast downwards towards her hands as she fiddled with her fingers and picked at the skin next to her nails with slight bordom. Her mind could never be really satisfied unless there was something of value at the end of the road she was on. Merely telling a boy about a book she was favorable too didn't seem to have any point other than to let him know something of herself. Which, in the long run, would have it's ups. If it was anyone else outside of this 'Uchiha clan' he was so sure she was part of she would have possibly declined the story telling to him. Telling absolute strangers things about yourself could be deadly. Enemies are abundant, especially in the times Shimagakure lived. It may be peaceful here, but somewhere, evil still lurks in shadows, awaiting the moment to explode into the light and take over all that people hold dear. Scratching her arm, she returned her eyes to him, seeing he had something to say.
A smile engulfed her lips as she listened, "Correct. I agree completely. I dislike people who give up so easily and use excuses of anything they can think of to say that can't continue. It's rather ubsurd in my oppinion. People need to grow a back bone for once instead of having others do their work for them. It gets tiring for those who are the ones actually doing something." Sighing, the Uchiha girl had to get herself back to what it was she was doing in the first place. "Oh yes, well, returning to the book, I do remember a chapter or two mentioning fear. Being burried alive and torchered and such. It was rather interesting to read. It actually had stories of real accountments from people who had this condition, I can't remember the name of it for the life of me though, that puts them into a near death state, yet they are as alive as you and I. People would burry them thinking they were deceased and a few hours later they would pop up alive with all memories of their horrible undertaking. It was rather fascinating to read the descriptions of feelings the people had. Fright beyond imagining, anger, such emotion and paranioa it makes you wonder how they could ever go on with such memories. Could you ever imagine being burried alive? Trapped beneith the dirt for days without food or water, thinking 'I'm going to die alone, in the dark, without nobody to help me. Why doesn't anybody save me. Where am I.' As scary as the thought is, death could come in a heartbeat in that state." Senritsu's eyes kept peeled to Sukotto as he seemed to have finish up whatever it was he was doing. She smiled to him in a congradulations before waiting to see if he had anything to say.

As Senritsu described the condition in which one seemingly rose from the dead to find that they had been encased within an earthen prison, Sukotto began to have ideas about controlling such a degree of fear and incorporating it into a genjutsu. If a shinobi focused this fear and aimed it at their opponent, they wouldn't have too much trouble winning the battle by destroying their enemy's mind. A chill gripped Sukotto's spine and made him feel very uneasy for a few moments. He began to wonder what kind of evil within his soul would have allowed such a thought to even enter his mind. The Uchiha believed that using such a terrible technique against an opponent would go against many things that he stood for. If he were to resort to such a thing, he would have truly lost himself.
He turned his gaze to Senritsu and noticed her fidgeting around a little. He needed to complete one more stage of training for his taijutsu and then would need to find someone near his own level to spar against, which would ultimately complete the creation of the Phoenix form. The Uchiha decided to present her with a few options so that she didn't feel bound to him, for he didn't want her to lose interest in him whatsoever. "I'm going to run myself through one more training session, Senritsu," he considered calling her 'Sen', but felt that he'd like to know her a little better before he gave her a nickname, "and I wouldn't want you to get too terribly bored. So if you would like to come along with me, then I welcome the company, but if you'd like to check out the rest of Shimagakure, I wouldn't mind." In case she took the suggestion the wrong way, he continued, "I would rather have you stay, but don't feel like you are obligated to." With that said, Sukotto smiled a full smile and took off sprinting towards the edge of the cliff, while yelling back to Senritsu at the same time. "If you'd like to come with me, I'll meet you at the bottom. You can follow the path and take the long way down if you'd like!" Sukotto jumped from the side of the cliff and landed on the J-shaped tree that stuck out of the cliff wall. He then proceeded to hop from shrub to shrub down the wall, using chakra that he had concentrated in his feet to stick to the various plants and the wall itself as he made his way down towards the bottom.
Courage of the Phoenix Trainees must combine the skills emphasized in the first three stages of training with the core agility of the taijutsu. The recommended training for this is using one's chakra to run up the side of a cliff while striking various objects on the rock wall with moves learned in the taijutsu's kata. This stage is complete after the trainee has struck every object that they originally set out to hit while still reaching the top of the cliff. 1d20+Agility+Taijutsu DC: 10+Agility+Taijutsu Train: 1/8

Senritsu eyed her partner in thinking as he seemed to have a little struggle within his own body on her words, or perhaps something he'd conjured up on his own. If only he were a bit more open to his thoughts and freely let them flow as she did. But it mattered not, he was himself as she was she. He fingers still twiddled around as she let her head bob from her left shoulder, to her right, before returning and repeating the motion in a rather relaxed and carefree manner. The only thing that was ruining her pleasent little get away was how cold it was. She could still feel the bumps her skin held as she swiftly rubbed her arms with her cold hands. Winter defintely wasn't her kind of weather. Then again, neither was Spring, Summer or Fall. Spring was okay though...more so than the others. At least Spring is a renewal of the year. A chance for flowers and love and all other joyous things about life to come about. Not that she cared much anyways. The girl was usually off doing something by herself. Then it hit her; perhaps later on she should play a game of Sudoku that she hadn't played in a while. It would get something in her mind with numbers and probabilities, something she favored greatly. Or perhaps she could read yet another book on the human mind and feelings.
"Alrighty then," she said as she stood from her place slowly and dusted the dirt her bottom might have accumulated while she was in her place on the floor. "You needn't be worried about me getting bored with someone like you around. You seem to understand my words better than my family anyways. Besides that, there's something about you that just catches my eye. It's rather strange really." Her words were true, when she'd first come up on him training, something about him, perhaps his seeming determination on his task at hand caught her attention. Or maybe it was the symbol he bore that made her curious as to what this 'Uchiha clan' was all about. Needless to say, she'd follow. "Shima is rather boring as of late. I don't even want to go bother heading to the Academy. Nothing there but a bunch of students who fight with eachother to be the best in the class. Mindless yelling and bullying and usually some idiot trying to be the good kid by being nice and friendly to everyone, even the meanest person in the class. It's all rather cliche` don't you think?" At that point he dissapeared off the side of the cliff, leaving Senritsu with her hand on her hip, placing her weight on one leg. "Such a show off little boy." She sighed and walked to the edge of the cliff he just leaped from and sighed. "I may be young, but I'm not stupid or suicidal." Senritsu knew when she couldn't do something and gladly took that into account than throw herself into something. It, afterall, paid better to be smart, than brave. With that, the girl turned on her heal and walked down the trail as leisurly as she liked while continuing on to think about the book she'd started on. Her mind continued to press into the being burried alive subject she'd mentioned to him a few moments before. She'd think of what else to say as she made her way down the cliff so she'd have something for him at the end.
Telling a tale Sukotto has asked Senritsu to tell him about her favorite book; he aims to test just how well her mind can hold on to memories. 1d20(1)+Intelligence(2)=3 DC: 10 Train: 1/5

Although something that Senritsu said had really meant something to him, Sukotto tried his best to keep his mind on his training on his way down the cliff. He knew that moving at such high speeds would be plenty enough training for his taijutsu, so he didn't worry about striking anything on the way down. Thankfully, he made it the entire way down unscathed, but decided to take a rest for a moment or so while he waited for the girl to make her way down. There wasn't any solid beach to speak of where Sukotto was located, merely a few large boulders that lazily bathed in the cool ocean water, but he figured that it would be easy enough for her to make it out to him.
When he saw her approach from the pathway, the pace of his heartbeat accelerated a little. It was quite a surprising feeling to him. After all, she had already mentioned that she was going to join him. However, hearing her say that she would and seeing that she really wanted to were two very different things. As she neared him, he called out to her, finally able to express his agreement with her opinion about the academy. "The predictable atmosphere of the academy bores me as well, Sen. That's why I've never gone!" If it hadn't been so cold outside, the Uchiha would have slightly blushed at this point. He had become so comfortable with the idea of a nickname for the girl that it had naturally left his mouth. Sukotto thanked Shimagakure's winter over and over again. If he would have even turned the slightest tint of red, Senritsu would have been able to spot it from a great distance away. He decided to continue in attempt to cover any trail that his hesitation may have left, "They seem more focused on fighting each other than they are on a greater good that they could achieve with their training."
The Uchiha toyed with an idea for a short moment and then decided to bring it up. "I'm nearly a chuunin myself, and they are pretty unorganized at the academy, so I could help you with your formal training if you'd like and they probably wouldn't even notice." Training Senritsu would give Sukotto enough experience to better handle a squad on his own, so it would mutually benefit himself and the girl. He had always felt that the academy classes were a waste of time, teaching many useless lessons and making the students learn the hard ones on their own. In all honesty, it seemed like they were holding the students back. With help from each other, Sukotto and Senritsu could improve their skills together much more quickly and efficiently than they could have ever hoped to have in the academy.
