Sorrow giggled when Mike’s voice had cracked. She stared deeply into his eyes and sat there, her mind wandering around the room. She had a smile on her face, the first time she had smiled since the previous night where Contri had attacked her. It seemed all that she was worrying about had melted away. She looked down at her half eaten plate.

“It sounds like a good plan, however we will need different clothes. I think I could sew up a few costumes. I just need some thread and material.”

Flint laughed at Mike's reaction, it was better than he had hoped for by a long shot.
"So, it's settled then, eh? A group of bards looking for a job?" he asked casually.
"If so...there's an old instrument I need to get reacquainted with...but for that, I'll need a small gourd, some animal skin, sinew or other types of wire, and some wood." he said, more to himself than anyone else.

Mike grumbled to himself. He hated showing weakness, and he had just shown his biggest weakness of all. He now felt hatred in his heart, though this was directed straight at himself. He didn't like to show his weaknesses, and he couldnt be with anyone without knowing who he was and what he was really capable of. He was scared he'd do anything to hurt those he cared about. What was he like in his past? If he could remember he could possibly be like that again. But for the time being, he couldnt.

Then he had a memory. Everything was suddenly pitch black around him, but he could hear everything clear as a bell.

There was beautiful music, sounding similar to a flute, but more clearer and beautiful. It was a wonderful tune, harmonizing nature and all that came from it. Mike's soul began to feel at ease as he heard it. And then, he heard a voice he hadn't remembered in years.

"Alright Honey, now you try it."
"M...Mother?"
"Aw-right!" Suddenly the tone was horrible and painful to the ears. Mike cringed and snapped out of the memory.

Nothing had passed, not time or anything. Mike had instantly relived a memory from his past. His mother was teaching him how to play an instrument most elves specialized in. He couldn't place the name of it, but he could see it so clearly, a small, oval object with a mouth piece sticking oddly out of one side, with a couple of different sized holes drilled into it. He wanted to find one more than anything, to see if he could stir his memory. Without a word or second thought, Mike walked away from the table and out the door. He needed to find a shop that sold instruments as soon as he could. That song he heard could be a key to some of his memories.

Ashe watched as Mike walked out of the inn. He looked odd...What's eating him? she wondered.
She shook her head and turned to Sorrow. "Let's get the cloth for our costumes. I'm sure we can find the really nice stuff since we're in the capital."

Flint nodded at Sorrow's suggestion.
"Good idea. Can't go to the King looking like this." he said, pulling on his baggy white shirt that was slowly losing its colour from the dirt of travelling. Sure, he had cleaned it last night, but it was becoming an off-white colour.
"Come get me when you have any ideas. I'm off as well, I need some fresh air." he said, getting up as well.
He walked out, spotted Mike up the street, and jogged to catch up.
"What's up with you, mate?" he asked casually, walking alongside him. "You look down a little bit."
He stayed quiet, then started up again. "Just tell her, and get it over with. Trust me, this whole adventure would be easier if you just said it." he added quietly.

[Sorry, short post today.]
Mike flashed Flint a look that said "WHAT!?" in a loud and suprised sort of way. He hadn't seen him walk up next to him and he surely didn't see him saying that. He shook his head, clearing his suddenly jumbled thoughts.
"I'm trying to find a music store," he said while scanning the streets, "I need to find an instrument as soon as possible."
Mike could feel the memory in his head, right up against the doorway that lead to remembrance. All he needed was the key to unlock it, and he was sure the tune he had heard would do that.

[Meh, I follow the quality of quantity rule. To me, a post can be one line if its good enough.]
----
Flint simply shrugged. "No offence, but don't play dumb. I've seen your reactions around each other." he started.
"If I said Sorrow was right behind you, chances are you'd turn around. You obviously wont now, but if I hadn't said anything, you would have. And at breakfast...what I said about being her husband for this charade of ours...it was intended as a joke, but your reaction sealed it." he finished.
"Just tell her, mate. If there's one thing I can't stand, is that kind of strange tension in the air you get when two people are playing it a little coy."
He stopped when Mike spoke up about the music store.
"Not to be that little annoying thing that follows you around, but speak of the devil, that was my plan as well." Flint said, shrugging.

[Ah, I get to bring out some character traits. Sweet!]

The whole time Flint was talking about Mike's feelings, Mike's face was starting to switch from stunned to anger. He began to bare his teeth when he talked about telling her, and as soon as he finished talking, Mike's expression faded. He walked a few more steps before stopping.
"Look..." he said closing his eyes, finding the words he wanted to say, "you dont understand. She's...she was in Paradise. I came straight from the Inferno. And angel and a demon...that doesn't work. She...we couldn't..." Mike suddenly lost all the words he had. Sorrow was a fallen angel, he had no doubts about it since he saw her black wings. He was a demon born straight from the bowels of the Inferno, and those were two completely different things. If Mike was destined to destroy all life, he'd need Sorrow to finish him off. From what he had seen, she was the only one with enough holy power to finish him should he turn to the darkness inside him.

Mike looked around, trying to get his thoughts back. He saw a musical note hanging from a sign and with unhuman speeds was inside. He began to look through all the instruments, trying to find one that fit the one he saw in his memory. He was sure Flint would be inside in a moment, but for now, he still had to find the instrument that played the tune in his mind.

Flint paled and stopped walking when when Mike showed his anger. That was completely unexpected, and he was sure he touched the wrong nerve.
And was about to pay for it.
But nothing happened.
Still in a state of minor shock, Flint didn't get a chance to respond to what Mike said. By the time he was able to make up a response, he was already gone.
"T-that was...strange." he stammered to himself, walking after him.
He slowly walked into the store, and stood beside Mike again.
"Sorry if I touched a nerve there..." he said quietly.

[Whoo, I'm on fire lately! Long post with a decent amount of quality I hope.]
"Don't worry about it." Mike said as he browsed through the musical instruments. None of them looked even remotely familiar. The store owner walked up to him and asked if he could help him. "I'm looking for something with a certain sound, but I dont remember what the instrument was." The owner looked at Mike and then at his inventory before handing him a long wooden stick that split halfway down.

"You're of elven decent right? Well this is some instruments elves play!" Mike looked at the odd instument, so many holes to press but he only had two hands. Mike placed his lips on it and blew, and instantly handed it back to the owner. "Wrong sound." After a few minutes Mike finally leaped the counter. As the owner began to throw a fit, Mike looked through a few boxes before finding the instrument. He pulled it out, a small, blue instrument just like the one he saw in his memory. On it there was a golden symbol inscribed into the mouthpiece, carefully made to bring out all the bends and depth of the lines. It was a symbol for the elven village he had grown up in.

"That's an ocarina." the owner said angrily, "That's the last one that was ever made in an old elven village so it's not for sale." Mike blocked him out and placed it in between his lips, blowing softly. He played a small scale before playing the song in his mind. His fingers were being moved subconsiously, and he could see his mother sitting on a tree stump in the middle of a sunny clearing. Mike was a young boy, standing in the light playing the tune. The notes gracefully slid out, filling the small store with a feeling of harmony and peace. The essense of the forest was in that very store.

Mike finished the song and smiled. He now remembered alot of his childhood life, as well as his mother. He didn't remember the name of the village though. "What is the name of the village where this was made?" "Well, I'm not sure," the owner said, "but I wrote it on a piece of paper that's in the drawer!" He walked over and tore apart the whole drawer. "Oh no, it's not in here!" Mike bowed his head, slightly disappointed. A small defeat in a large victory. "How much for this ocarina then?" "I've never heard anyone play anything like that before in my life." the owner said, "Clearly you were born with one in your hands. I never felt music like that before, so you can have that ocarina free of charge." Mike smiled. "Thank you." he said, shaking the owners hand. He took a small bag and placed the small clay instrument inside before leaping over the counter again. He remembered a good portion of his past now, and with a smile of victory, walked out the door.

"Yeah...I'll try to remember not to bring up that subject again." Flint said casually, picking up his own instrument off the wall.
It was made up of a wooden hoop, with what appeared to be animal skin drawn across the top, and a plain wooden board for a neck, with 4 metal pins at the top and one 3/4 of the way up, attached to each was a string.
"Do..." he started, but stopped when Mike started playing.
"That was incredible!" he said as Mike left. As soon as he left, he turned to the shop keeper.
"Do you have this, but you know, smaller?" he asked casually. The owner shook his head.
"Ah. Can I get five strings, same as the ones on this please?" he asked, hanging up the instrument.
After paying for his purchase, Flint walked out into the street. Next, he visited a small carpenter's shop, where he bought a plain piece of wood not much longer than his arm.
His third stop was a forge near the centre market. There he bought the 5 pins he needed, much smaller than they where before.
Flint's final stop was the market itself, where he bought himself a small gourd. Then, with a large burlap bag filled with probably the most eclectic mix of stuff in the world, he made his way back to the inn. He had work to do.
He hoped the innkeeper wouldn't mind the mess.

[me too...I hope we dont have to split into just three again. That would REALLY blow, mostly because we'd need a new plan, and I'd have to switch some of my RP ideas around...alot...which would be very hard.]

Sorrow was zoning out again and quickly snapped back to reality. She dug around in her bag, pulling out a small needle and thread. She looked up to hear Ashe speaking to her and she noticed she hadn’t been paying attention.

“Um… yeah I’m sure you’re right. Let’s go.”

Sorrow stood up and opened the door to the inn and stepped outside into the streets of the capital. Sorrow and Ashe made their way through the streets looking for a store that sold cloth. The buildings were very colorful and had nice tapestries. They had been walking for a short while when they stumbled up a small shop a little ways off from where they had been walking.

“I think this place should do. Never expected it to be so hard to find a cloth shop.”

Sorrow grasped the handle of the door and as she opened it a small bell rang. She stepped inside not waiting for Ashe to enter and began to look around at the different colors and patterns available. Sorrow picked up one sheet and looked at the price.

Yikes this place is expensive, I hope Ashe has money.

[Guys we have a new member to the roleplay, dillchip. And sorry about not posting lately, I just kinda forgot to post and got lazy. I don't want this rp to die. The last thing I would want to do is make you three start the rp over again.]
