Bas loomed above the man at his full height, perched as far up on his tail as he could be. The ghoul was approximately 8 feet tall. His arms were outstretched like a spider ready to strike and his tongue lolled, dripping rotten saliva and pieces of things that had better not be mentioned.

Now, that was about the scariest thing he'd ever seen. His eyes huge, he stared, taking everything in. The arms, the tail, the hugeass teeth and tongue and oh god the smell.
Stare. Stare.
"H-Hello."

Bas loomed a bit lower and then relaxed back to his snake-belly. He crawled in front of Carlos and took his radio, giving it a little smack. Pounding rap came on and he left it there. Hey, he enjoyed the beat.
"You are the one I was told to not eat."

"That's nice. Who told you not to?" Carlos was pretty glad he'd learned from his mistake the first time. He was pretty sure this thing would eat him if he pissed himself. "But I thought you only ate rotten things? Are you the ghoul? Can I touch you?"
He had to see, had to touch, had to know.

Bas dodged away as if suddenly burned and craned his neck at a bizarre angle.

"All right." Carlos put his hands behind his back. "I won't." He leaned closer, though. After the initial shock, he, again, wasn't afraid.
"Who told you not to eat me?"

"Master," Bas replied, crunching on something he had apparently hidden in his hand earlier. It was vaguely purple and bulby and probably best to not think about.

It was said "bahss", with a soft 'a' sound. If this thing could be called a man, it was eastern-European and entirely assimilated. The fact that he had a name, though, always seemed to startle people.

Bas curled up a few feet away, eyes glowing quite as promised, and licked his fingers.
"You have no death on you. You are not filthy." Filthy, of course, being a reference to sexual acts. It was obvious, was it not? Of course it was!
"My friend says hello. He also says that you are putting yourself in danger and should remove yourself from Samuel's grave."

"You asked me if I only eat rotting things. No. I do not. I prefer to. The flavor is much more satisfying, and there is no risk. People have sinned against my friends. I eat them too. They are disgusting, but they are food." And he was always hungry. Always.
