Erica felt her strength flood back into her form. She turned and looked at Gwen. She was giving her the strength she needed at the moment to keep time halted. Erica snapped back around to Sid and pointed an accusing finger towards him, "Ancestor? Ha! No, someone else is protecting your family tree. Who...?! There are only a few people still live that have that power! No newbie could perform such mastery..."
Julia spoke up at her sister's statement, "She is correct. Chants, or spells are they are sometimes called, have very few downsides, one of which is when the Caster dies, so does the spell with them. So, in other words, the person protecting your family Mr. Sinclair must still be alive. Someone before the great war five hundred years ago." Julia was contemplating on where or not to risk another jab at finding the source of this spell now that she had a more direct channel to search for it. She knew it could end badly for her, but what if someone, someone that sided with the King, was keeping tabs on them or even friends with them!? "Erica is more than able to keep this up for a while longer," stated Julia as she placed herself inbetween Gwen and the Sinclair's. She knew that Erica was hit badly and that Gwen was offering her some much needed strength. She was unsure if her statement would hold true. Time would only tell. Someone was either protecting them or keeping tabs on them, whether it was friend or foe was the question now.
Sebastian was quiet untill this point. While his daughters were unique, he was not. All he had was the simple knowledge of the past that had long been forgotten by most of the world. He was simply an Holder of the Past. "I don't think they know Julia," Julia looked up to him a bit baffled, "They truely believe their ancestors are the cause, but I think they have some truth. An ancestor that was possibly friends with someone powerful...or enemies...to have that someone make the spell for them." Sebastian looked up to Sid, "Am I correct or do you not simply know now...?"
((Just so you know...it is Relena that has been protecting the sinclairs since she learned of Ryu death.))

Sid rubbed his chin. "Well the only ancestors that did anything outside of cooking were Aron, Lexine, Winry, Ryu, and Koh." Sid soon took notice of Gwen's appearence. "Well looks like this crowd just keeps getting bigger and bigger now doesn't it?" Sid looked around for a second. "Where'd Max go?" Sid scanned the resturant and spotted Max with a black marker scribbling glasses and a moustache on one of the customers. "Max Sinclair what the hell do you think you're doing?!" Max turned around unfazed. "This jerk came in last week and didn't bother to tip. Cheap b*****d." Sid rubbed his temples on his forhead. "Listen While I'm sure you could keep time frozen like this for awhile, wouldn't it just be simpler to finish this discussion upstairs in our living selection away from the public instead of keeping time paused like this? Let's just return to where we were, and let Max finish his shift and we'll take this conversation somewhere private. Is that okay with all of you?" Sid turned around and spotted Max writing on someone else's face "Max!!!" "But he-" "I don't care what he did, stop writing on people's faces!" "But-" "Kitchen NOW." Max capped the marker and sulked to the kitchen.

Erica and Julia looked up towards their father, waiting for his decision patiently. This had so become out of hand! Sebastian nodded as he headed back to their table. "Very well, shall we take our positions from before. I am sure neither of us wishes for any unwanted attention...," explained the governor reasonably.
The two girls follow suit in returning to where they were prior to the stop in time, posing as they had before Erica stopped time. Julia smiled at Gwen, "It is okay if you wish to head back to our home once time resumes, but you are more than happy to stay. I just ask for you stay close untill we sort this matter out. For safety...of course" Julia wanted Gwen to leave and stay at the same time, however she was unsure of which one she wanted more currently.
As Erica walked back to the kitchen, she watched Max play with the people that were stopped in time, marking the faces of the ones that had wrong him apparently. Despite their previous meeting, the corners of her lips twitched ever so slightly. He reminded her of someone she lost so long ago.
"I am ready when everyone else is," announced Erica as entered the kitchen.

As time finally resumed its course, Max hopped over to the window and snatched a piece of paper off and read it. He glanced at the clock. "Yes, this is the final order. An Omelet with everything on it... Easy." Max slid across the white tiled floor and picked up three eggs and cracked them open and dumped them into the pan before whipping them up with a whisk. He moved to the counter and picked out a mushroom, onion, bell pepper, onion, zucchini, barley, and cheese. He gripped the knife off his hip and chopped the food up into little bits in a flurry of slices. He flipped the eggs and poured the contents of the omelet into the pan and folded it up and slid it onto a plate.
He grabbed a toothpick with a frill on one end and poked the pick through the middle of the omelet to hold it together. He quickly turned off all the stoves and placed the order on the kitchen window before calmly walking over to the clock on the wall and depositing a card into the box next to it. "DONE!" Max grabbed a bottle of water a chugged it down greedily. After undoing the bandana around his head and using it to wipe off the sweat on his face he finally turned around to Erica. "Okay. It is time to talk. I'll lead you upstairs so we can talk witht he others." Max motioned Erica to follow him and they left the kitchen.
As Max left three cooks went in to take his place. Sid had already taken the rest of the family upstairs already. Max walked to the door to the stair way and opened it and let Erica go in first as he closed the door behind him and walked upstairs too. It only took a few seconds to reach what appeared to be the main office. Portraits of past Sinclairs hung on the wall. The middle of the room was covered with a luxerious bold red rug that sat just infront of a large fancy desk made of mahogony. Sid sat behind the desk and watched as his son and guest entered the room where Sebastian and Julia were already seated in some nice chairs polished to a shine. "I'm glad to see you came. Please take a seat. I sure we have much to talk about. Max... please go lock the stairway door to ensure we don't have any uninvited guests." Max nodded and left the room shortly before returning and closing the door to the office. "I'll let our guests speak first." Sid calmly announced.

Gwen sat next to Julia. Something about the Sinclairs seemed familiar, yet also unnerving. She found that it may be best to just sit quietly.
Kaida on the other had was having the time of her life. She had found the entrance with ease and was currently asleep on the damp floor out of the water.

Sebastian so, soooo, didn't want to speak first. It was him trying to find out the answer and he really didn't wish to give out to much just in case.
"Why do you explain to me," stared Sebastian, "you knowledge of this defensive spell around your family. It does appear that you had knowledge of it, even if the origins were false."

Sid rubbed his thinly shaved beard. "Well, for the past fifty some-odd decades or so, the Sinclair family has been blessed or in some ways cursed to be impervious to nearly all forms of magic. While it may seem unnatural for a family of chefs to be aware of such things as magic and stuff, the Sinclair family has always been more or less connected to the supernatural occurances going on through the years. Why it was even said that the Sinclair family aiding in the harboring of rebels back during the revolution against the King so long ago. As for when the Sinclairs' specifically came into the protection of the spell, I am unsure." Max meanwhile had been picking his teeth with his nails. Either Max was not interested in hearing the story, or he had heard before, but either way, he was obviously bored.

As everyone talked back and forth, each trying to gather what information they could acquire, Julia laid back and withdrew. Sid had mention a series of names before.
....Aron, Lexine, Winry, Ryu, and Koh....
One of those were so familiar. She had remember it being spoken aloud, it wasn't really spoken to anyone personally. It was just thrown out there, possibly unknowningly. It was said with such a sadden and hurt tone by the speaker. Oh...what was that name? Ryu...that was it. She was sure of it, maybe it wasn't anything at all.
"Ryu....ryu....I know I heard it before, but from someone in particular..someone important...wait!" Julia's head snapped up as she suddenly spoke aloud," Relena!" She instantly covered her mouth as her eyes widen. Everyone was looking at her and her father had an utterly shocked expression with a hint of betrayal in it. How could she bring Relena in to this, especially after Relena personally asked them to keep things related to her to themselves because of who and what she was. Oh she hoped it would brush over and nothing would come of her speaking the name.
She was probably so wrong anyway!!!!!!

Gwen's eyes snapped open when Julia said Relena's name. Up until then she had been half asleep, thanks to Kaida. "What does Relena have to do with this?" she asked sleepily.

((sorry everybody, but school starts back up in a week and I'm afraid I'll have to commit alot of time this semester to my books, so I'm gonna have to play a micro tiny role in the rpg.)) Without saying a word, Sid stood up and reached for a book on the shelf behind him. It was labeled R. He pulled it down and flipped through the pages until he came to the one he was looking for. "Relena... dragon.... king... rebellion... Ryu.... I see." Sid calmly put the book back in its place on the shelf. "I'm interested as to how you know of Relena, but it seems as though your father doesn't want to bring it up, so I'll drop it if you wish." Max rolled his eyes at his father's over the top politeness.
"Oh come on. This is getting old fast. We're not idiots. We know that we all know more then we should, but dammit, the truth is not something that we should have to tip-toe around. It isn't right that we pretend to live in the clueless world that is ignorent of the harsh truth of reality. There was a giant war raged by a handful of people you accepted the truth about the King's corruption 500 years ago, and yet even now we pretend that the world is running smoothly. It's not! It's resistance to speaking of the truth liek thsi that let the King get as strong as he did half a millenium ago." Max turned to their guests.
"We know about Relena's part in the war, we know she wasn't 'human', we know there is something going down in the country again, we know that you are somehow involved. The fact that you could perform magic is proof enough of that. We know that the country is on the verge of war if something isn't done soon. No more p***y-footing around. Let's cut the crap and talk turkey." Max plopped back down on his seat and crossed his arms in frustration.
If looks could kill, Max would be dead ten times over from the daggers his father was staring at him. With a deep sigh, Sid spoke up. "It's true, the Sinclairs are aware of the unpleasent truth of the past and bloody conditions of the present. But we are not warriors. We are not saviors. We are not a threat. We are simply chefs. We cook and serve the best food through out the country. Nothing more." Sid stood up and walked to his guests, glaring at Max as he pasted, making Max's hair stand on end. He handed Sebastian a pendent on the end of a red strap. "This is a crest of the Sinclair's. If you show this to any of the Sinclairs through out the country, I sure they'd be more then willing to help you in any way they can. The Sinclairs are a good source of information on the goings-on in their city. And secrets between the family is secure since we code our secrets in food recipe code that only members of the Sinclair family can hope to understand. If you present that crest to anyone in the Sinclair family, I'm they'd be more then willing to give you a place to rest for awhile, gritty information on what's going on in town, and probably even a few free meals."
Max interupted and said, "Except for Edward and Elida Sinclair, those two cheapstakes would make you paid full price for a meal even if you were part of the family." Sid looked at Max. "Drop it Max, it was reckless of you to assume that you'd get a free meal from them anyways and you deserved the dish duty they put on you." Max slumped in his chair. "Anyways, please take this family crest as a symbol of our goodwill and consider it our way of helping. I can tell that you are good people, so can all the other Sincalirs. As far as I know, here isn't anything scandelious going on here in Yusak that would be of any importance to you. Now if that is all, you are free to leave. And Max-" Max froze in midstep as he tried sneaking out of the room. "Yeah..." "Freezer." "Damn." Max took off his shirt reveling a small burn mark on his left shoulder and right fore-arm along with a four-packon his torso. Max handed Sid his shirt and went downstairs. "I have him sit in the freezer to cool off as punishment for speaking out of turn. Unfortunatly, he keeps building a stronger tolerance to the cold every time. At this rate his tolerance to the heat of the kitchen and the cold of the freezer will make him nigh impervious to the weather around him... I'm gonna have to think of a new punishment soon... anyways, your meal is on the house today, please feel free to come again when ever you like and remember to tell your friends about our wonderful food." Sid announced like he was advertising.

Sebastian took the crest and nodded his thanks, even if he didn't really see how the Sinclair's, a family of cooks that truely seem to be just so, would assist in any matters they were personally involved in. Still, if it was true they had or have a connection with Relena, perhaps she would wish to seem them.
"Thank you...," said Sebastian, but he hestiate before speaking again, as if to decide whether or not to continue, "however...," Sebastian looked up to Sid, "Do not continue on in this world so uncaring or carefree. If your family did indeed have any relations to the same woman we are thinking of, then you need to keep on guard." That was so an understatement. His world felt stirs amongst it but that had been happening for hundreds of years. Still, they did seem to become stronger suddenly. Either way, those that still existed that were not friends of Relena would definitely go after the Sinclairs, who did not have the protect his family did. In a way to get to her or hurt her.

"I'll keep that in mind. Take care, Sir." Sid said as he walked Sebastian to the front door of the resturant and closed the door behind him. Afterwards he headed to the back-room and opened the freezer to see Max sitting in the fridged cold storage unit without his shirt. "We have alot to talk about once your punishment is over young man." "Can't we just have the talk now and get it over with?" "Nice try, but no. I'll come back down in three hours. Stay cool." "Oh my god, I can't believe you said that! How can you be so lame?! I swear I can hardly believe I'm even related to-" the freezer door slammed as Sid left Max to wait out his punishment.

((What...what...WHAT!!! I saw that Ocarina...you thought you were sneaking...but me see. Alright spill it!!!!! You have me offically hooked...grr...damn you. What do you have up your sleeves!?))
Sebastian held Gwen's umbrella as they made their way back home. He saw her confused and worried state as Julia and Erica muttered amongst themselves.
"You feel it too...don't you," muttered Sebastian to Gwen. Even if he was blind he would have seen the tension in her body suddenly building and her guard coming up. Sebastian chuckled sightly and slow their pace so Erica and Julia couldn't hear them anymore. The act sent Gwen into overdrive as she was ready to call her dragon. Sebastian shook his head as he stop and turned to Gwen, "It is alright. Here..."
The governor kneeled down before the girl and undid his vest and the top buttons of his shirt. Their on his shoulder laid the mark of a dragon rider with the seal of the varden around it. "You see," started Sebastian," I am a dragon rider too and once a general of the varden. However, I lost my dear friend...a long, long, long time ago. The world thinks of me to be only born a mere fifty years ago...but I am not. I had the unfortunate problem of meeting the king himself and now I live for an enterity without my partner. Believe me when I say this, if you are lose your dragon and live on...it is an loney life, one filled with pain that even two adopted daughters and town you run can never, ever, fill."
Once his vest was rebuttoned he began to walk with Gwen again, returning to his question before. "She's hurt...isn't she. Relena. She was a commander in the Varden and my superior. Oh how I looked up to that being that was nothing more than a child back then. A bond was formed and I have always been able to feel her current state...on occasions. Now...I am having a hard time. Since you are her charge," said Sebastian as he looked down at Gwen," I am hoping you could tell me more. Your bond, even if it is teacher to student, should be stronger, mainly newer than my old one, than mine. Is everything okay?"
Sebastian had failed to mention that he loved Relena greatly and refused to give the King anything when he demanded knowledge of her. His loyalty and love for her was why he lost his dragon and lived this hell. It was a nightmare he never forgot at night when he slept. Relena would never know...but he would do it again if he needed too.

"I don't know," she said looking at the ground after a moment. "Before I had come, this puppet, as Relena called it, came to her and said the someone named Sang needed her. And a few moments before that Kaida and I were getting ready to leave when I felt someone else near us, but it wasn't Relena." Gwen shuddered as she remembered that sinister laughter she had heard. "As we ran I heard them shout 'Run rider, run! I will enjoy our meeting that will soon come to past!!!! Haaa-haaaah...'"
