Tori turned her head and ran over. "I got the food." She said innocently pointing to his shirt full of bread and other things.
You say it was a straight face. You're how old again? Twenty? No that's wrong you haven't developed breasts yet. Twelve? Judging by your intelligence I doubt it.
She turned to face the orange night sky, people exiting their homes to view what was going on. She just stared in awe. Okay she felt a slight pang of guilt at the image of her sister being burned alive. But that would pass. "Stupid girl didn't defend me." She mumbled.
It's called 'Every man for himself'. Humans lie to protect themselves. They'll risk others so they don't face guilt and the responsibility of their actions. There is only one truth in the world, and that's that everyone lies.
"Will you lie?"
Perhaps.

"Hey, now, talking to your Sinful like that is my trick, " Malachai said jokingly. "Anyways... what happened back there? I appreciate what you've done, but... it seems brutal."
Malachai, I know what you're thinking... just say it. "It was irrational and foolish, and you could have been killed!" Something like that? Bah, hide your emotions for hunger and love...
"Damn it, will you ever stop trying to use that? It won't work."
It's the truth.
"Keep telling yourself that."

Tori turned and laughed. "I'mnot fighting with my Sinful. We're having an..an..an..What's the word?"
Just use smart people. Remind Malachai to buy you a dictionary and thesaurus.
"We're having a smart people conversation." She clicked her tongue a few times. "Smart people sounds funny..." She mused to herself taking some bread from the shirt and munching on it. "Its not brutal. They started it. God doesn't exist. If he did he would've tried to stop me. Want some?" She held out another peice of bread toward him.
You and Malachai should be running for your damned lives not sitting here snacking on bread! You were the last one there and one guard was left! They know what you look like!
Tori paused to look and her now empty left hand. It was covered in black powder. She aalyzed the thumb on her right hand and shook her hea. "I got your bread dirty. Take one from the bag!" She said pointing toward it.
If you were older this would be called 'flirting'.
"Why would it be called that?" She asked with a mouthful of bread.
Because that's where your chest would be had you any to begin with.
"Daddy favs you ge' dose whe' you're quenty-wuh." She said shoving the rest of her bread in her mouth and chewing. Bread kept you hungry less, that's what Daddy said.
Wait until you're fifteen and say that again. With less bread though. Its rude to talk with your mouth full.

BOOM! "It wasn't brutal!" The last part had been voiced in a higher pitch han usual, almost mockingly.
"Well... I think it would be better if we moved back into the shadow, " Malachai replied. "If nothing else, the shadow always hides me, and if you're close enough, it will hide you as well."
Now, n-
"Don't you even comment."
You said it, not me.
"You know it had nothing to do with that."
Sure, Malachai.
"Anyways.... Erm... Have a plan from here?" Hesitantly, he reached for a piece of bread, quickly withdrawing his hand and looking away. "And... thank you."

She was now looking at him curiously, an eyebrow raised. "What do you talk about?"
It'd be wise not to know. Its just a suggestion. Sinful hummed to itself. The child walked into a shadow and turned to him waiting for a response.
"I'll give you the puppy face." She threatened.
...Terrifying, you've got me trembling in my nonexistant boots. How old is this man anyway?
"And how old are you?"
Me thinks you just fueled whatever fire is going on in his head.

I can't tell which of you two is flirting more.
"Erm... for the food, " Malachai said, wondering just what could be going on in this girl's mind. "Thank you. And to answer your question, I turned nineteen not too long ago. A few days, actuallly... It's why I came back and why I'm here now."
You're also thinking that it's why you lost your family's life, aren't you?
"Yes, " Malachai replied quietly.
Malachai, it was unstoppable. They knew the risks they were taking in giving that man refuge.
"And I couldn't save them." Malachai turned to the girl, scratching the back of his neck slightly. "Erm... how old are you?"

"I turn thirteen next month. I'll officially be a teenager! ..." Her proud shoulders slackened. "I was finally going to be treated like a responsible adult then Dad goes and tells everyone I hold a Sinful Angel and wants me dead. So I guess I won't have him singing me happy birthday next month."
You only blew them up to flaming piles of stinking meat. Happy Birthday, boom you dead. Explain the voice somewhat mad. So don't go crying to anyone on your birthday. Hell don't even tell Malachai what day it is. You should stop caring about your birthday when you turn eleven anyway.
"I guess you're right." She smiled again and turned pointing to the forest. "There's a path back there, a creek also incase we need water. It flows into a city a long ways away but it'll lead us to a place with hotels, passing up smaller towns on the way. If we start early tomorrow we can pass up maybe three of the smaller towns before the church finally sends out wanted posters over there." She turned to him. "That a good idea? And for the food, your welcome."

((someone is going to get raped soon, and i'm not sure whether it's going to be Malachai or Tori...))
Serin awoke to find Ryan sitting across from her munching on a roll of bread without a care in the world, his relaxed demeanor throwing her off of her game as she had expected him to have something to say or... or just not be here when she woke up.
"Want some?" She could just nod dumbly as he threw a spare roll at her, which she caught after much fumbling and close calls.
"About your sword..." He started, taking a swish from the canteen, "It seems... It's a bit special." Ryan tapered off to note her reaction to his words, she seemed rather calm with this fact if her less then curious face said anything.
"Of course it's special, it was my grandmothers'. She was an avid collector of odd antiques and the like, so it's only natural there is something strange abou-" she stopped immediately as she saw the grave look on Ryan's face. Fear filled her as she dropped the bread to the floor and balled her fists in anger at him.
"You....You bastards sold it, didn't you!" Accusations, but Ryan didn't so much as flinch.
"If only it were that simple, but seeing as you were able to carry that thing then that must mean you're one of the Divine Sins." His tone was flat and curious at the same time, an odd mixture to be sure. But things would be so much more clear if she knew-
"What the hell are you talking about? What's a Divine Sin, what does it have to do with me and my sword, and on that note... Where is my sword!?"
"Divine Sins, those who for some unknown reason have bonded with a Sinful Angel without going mad. As for your sword? I'm sorry Serin... But it is just that."
"Sinful... Angel?"
He ran his hand through his nappy hair and sighed in what seemed like obvious stress and confusion. "As it is, we can't really let you go. We need every resource we can get against the Church and having a Divine Sin in our ranks would really be something... On the other hand, alot of... no... Most people here will have caught word of this soon and you will be gaining alot of unwanted attention."
They sat in silence, the some what comfortable bed beneath the young miss Gear suddenly losing it's warmth as she tried to understand what he was telling her.
"Look, all we know for sure is that we will return the sword to yo-"
"I don't want it."
Ryan's eyes widened in surprise, "W-What?"
"You heard me, I don't want it!"
((Yessss, that's right Tori. Lead him into the dark forest and jump him when he lets his guard down! >.>))

"If you have no qualms about hiding in the shanties when we make it to any small town, that works for me, " Malachai replied. "And away from any urban setting for a small time may be a good idea, as well, as we'll have time to stay away from the Church... for the most part."
You really want to live from shanty to shanty, living some meager existence? At least form some kind of revolutionary group to form a land of your own! Come on... Shadow can be used in many ways for a group's name, Malachai.
"Always about the revolutions... You never think things through."
I think far enough to know that a stealthy warrior can achieve these tasks with little problem. Forget what you must do along the way!
"You should know me better than that."
I should... but it shouldn't matter.
"Anyways... When's your birthday? And your intellect deceives your true age, you know."

And his observation skills are either really good or your terrible at acting like an imbecile. I vote the latter.
That's so mean. Tori thought. "My birthday is on a day of a week with a number in it." She stated simply. "Anyways, is a shanty like an alley or something? If so I don't mind. But e'd still need to stay close to the creek, it'll help get rid of our smell incase they decide to use hounds." She had two of them back home, she couldn't help but wonder if they made it out. She didn't see them at all in the yard.
In some areas of the world hound is a delicacy.
"I'm sure it is but I'm not all to hungry. I just had bread." She thought a moment to herself staring at the forest. "We should probably leave town right now Mr. Malachai." She turned to look back at him. "Judging by the warmth of the fire its spreading, and when you put two and two together you get four so, we'll be caught pretty soon if we don't hurry."
You're quite the terrible actress. And I suggested that idea nearly ten minutes ago! Child you need to listen to me and ignore any rational thought! At the moment our Priority One is to make it out of town, Priority Two would be to remain unnoticed which you're also terrible at, the 'making explosives and going boom' giving that away. Nonetheless you two better get a move on, you may not hear the armor but I can.

"If you say so, " Malachai replied. "ANd the shanties are generally the rundown parts of a down filled with beggars and homeless, often in combinations. The Church rarely ventures near the shanties of a city, which should be good for us. I can protect you, if the need arises."
Don't give her an excuse to make you her valiant knight.
"You said the forest is dark, right? We should stay there for the night. I can keep us enshrouded, again, if you're close enough, and I'll stay awake to make sure no animals sniff us out."
You realize that with such a young... Curious girl, her having to stay so close could only be a pleasure for her, right?
"Hey, it's a part of your power."
True. Just remember, if you wake up with any strange sensations, but don't see anyone... the shadow could be hiding her.
"I see why you're called a Sinful."

Tori blinked confused and curious. "I never said the forest was dark. Hmm?" She tapped her chin and cocked her head to the left just a little. "Sometimes I really wonder what Mr. Malachai is thinking."
If my hypothesis is correct you wouldn't understand.
"What? Why do I need to be left out? Is it because I'm still a kid?"
Good deduction. You're still too pure to try and understand it.
That's not fair, she wanted to know what he just ever so blabbered about with his Sinful. She had lost this round anyway as she turned on her heel and started walking. "C'mon Mr. Malachai. Those ucky guards'll get you." Little? Tiny? Bah! She could be just as great as any young woman out there.
You lack the bust and waist.
Her face turned pink. "Shuddup. My mom was big so I know I'll be big too." She quickened her pace.

"Hm? Oh, sorry, I'm probably getting yours and this... pervert's words mixed up. One inconvenience of a voice in your head - not being able to keep track of conversations."
Pervert? She seems to have a more perverted mind than I! A great wife, in a few years...
"No... It's definitely you."
Bah, you try lying in wait for centuries.
"Excuses."
True ones all the same.
"Bah. Now, then, for the record, you can just call me Malachai." Following the young girl, Malachai carefully looked over his shoulders and down every street, assuring that he was not followed. The guards would be preoccupied with the "distraction" for some time before any pursuit began.

"A pervert?" What's a pervert?" Tori asked hile walking. She heard her Sinful stifling laughter. "Did I just ask something stupid Mr. Malachai?"
Heeheehee...yes...heeheehee
"Am I the pervert? Wah I'm getting your conversation mixed with mine and Sinfuls! My brain hurts its so confused. I think I'll stop talking and just walk." And she silenced mentally sobbing at her lack of concentration and focus. Sinful still trying to stifle his giggles about her pervert question.
