Mummymon shook his head, laughing a light whispy laugh. Teenagers were silly.
"Skyyyyeee neeeverrr saaaid marriiiied Syyyyyrusss," he started to explain. "Juuuust staaaaatemennnt wheeeeen maaaarrrrried. Juuussst generaaaaal goooaaaal, nooothiiiing speeeesific."
Just then the food was brought to the table, and Mummymon went about eating quicky, as he was starved, though he peered up quickly at Syrus, who just looked utterly confused.
Mission ackomplished.

Skye blushed again. Yes, it had been a general statement ... but ... the implication had been there, had it not? But if Syrus hadn't noticed, or hadn't taken her comment the way she had, then she had just embarrassed herself over nothing ... and made the situation worse.
Why wasn't anything easy anymore?
She was relieved when the food arrived, but before she started eating she signed to Syrus, 'I hope I did not make you feel awkward ...'
After all, talking about marriage when they were just dating could be seen as looking too far into the future, which some people didn't like to do.

Syrus closed his eyes a moment and gave a small sigh before turning to Skye.
"It's fine. I felt a little bit at first, but nothing too horrid. I just hope Mummymon didn't make you feel any worse," he said.

Skye shook her head and raised her hands to sign once more. 'I just did not want to make you feel pressure for the future,' she told him silently. 'I want things to work out because we are really compatible ... not because we try to force it.'
Syrus was special to her, and she wouldn't change that for the world ... but nor would she try to make things happen that weren't meant to (though she had to admit, the more time she spent with him, the more she felt that it was meant to be).

Syrus gave her a quick hug to reassure her that nothing was wrong.
"That makes perfect sense," he said with a smile. "Let's just enjoy things, enjoy each other, and see where everything goes from there. There is no hurry."

Skye hugged Syrus back warmly, not seeing his words but still sensing his reassurance from the vibrations he was emitting. Her wings fluttered slowly, an automatic reaction to the calm she was feeling at that particular moment.
And then she came to a decision.
"Syrus," she said softly, pulling away from him and reaching slowly for her bag, "I have something for you ..."
She had originally wanted to wait for them to be alone, but she had no idea when Mizu was going to be picking up Mummymon and she wanted to make sure that she wouldn't forget by the end of their date.

"Oh?" he asked, honestly quite surprised. Other then anyone in his family, he had never really received anything gift like from anyone. He usually just gave them. He smiled, taking time to lean over her shoulder, trying to grab a peek, and trying not to act like a child about the thought of getting a gift.
Mummymon looked at the two for a moment, then closed his eyes so that Syrus could see whatever it was first. Only fair. It was his after all.

Skye felt Syrus's presence near to her as she pulled her bag off the floor and onto her lap, and as she rummaged through it to find what she was looking for she felt herself blushing faintly. At last, she found what she was looking for, and she held out a small wrapped package to Syrus.
"Here," she said softly, smiling shyly as she waited for him to accept it.
It was about the size of his closed fist, a box wrapped in blue paper wrapping, the colour of her wings, and tied with gold ribbon. On the ribbon was a note that read, 'To Syrus, Love Skye'.

Syrus looked at the box for a brief moment before taking it gently from her hands. He pushed over his plate of food so that he could sit it on the table.
Looking at Skye, he smiled. "Thank you," he said, before turning his attention to the task at hand. Slowly he removed the ribbon, and then went about gently tearing the paper from the box before opening it.

Inside the box was a silver pocket watch, its face a foggy glass so that the clockwork could be seen through it. Twelve perfectly spaced numerals circled the face, and thin black hands showed the time clearly. On the back, etched into the metal backing, were nearly the same words that were on the tag:
'For Syrus, Love Skye'
Skye watched Syrus anxiously for his reaction as he opened the box. She didn't know if he would like it ... she hoped he would. She had thought long and hard about this gift.

Syrus held the watch in his hand gently, looking at it as the light bounced off the silver and glass in such a way that made it almost shimmer, but then again it might have just looked that way to him. It was beautiful looking, all the intricate workings moving together to make something that worked so well.
It was then that he realized that that's how his relationship with Skye worked, fitting together in such a way that seemed flawless; perfect.
"It's perfect," he said, and meant it in more ways than one.

Skye smiled widely, happiness flooding through her as she watched Syrus open the gift she had gotten for him.
"I am glad that you like it," she said softly, reaching one hand over and placing it on his knee.

Syrus reached down and placed his hand onto Skye's, grasping it lightly. He looked at her with a soft smile before giving her a quick gentle kiss on her lips.
"I love it," he said softly.
Mummymon made sure to be a good boy and closed his eyes as his brother kissed his girlfriend, all though it was quick. Once he heard Syrus talk again, he opened them back up and continued on with is food.

Skye kissed him back and smiled at him warmly, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at him. She didn't need to read his lips - she could see in his eyes the words that he was speaking.
"I am glad," she murmured softly, holding his hand tightly in her own. Her wings fluttered slowly, betraying her happiness.

Mummymon sighed. They were being boring and mushy, but it wasn't their fault, so he just waved at them to get their attention.
"Foooood get coooold" he claimed with a slight sigh.
Syrus was just enjoying being with Skye when his little brother caught his attention. He semi snapped out of his blissful stupor to give a little laugh.
"Your right Mumz. Thanks"
