Skuld gently placed several shards of ice in both drinks. One small piece of ice slipped off the edge of one glasses, and Skuld instictively caught it before it hit the Turkish carpet.
"[Whew!] Can't let that get away."
She slips the ice shard into her mouth and then takes a drink.

Kaine glanced at the carpet as he took a sip, then glanced around the rest of the room. Actually getting a good look at the place this time. She really did have quite a place. Well she said she was good at aquisitions...shouldn't be that surprised.

Skuld glances over, "So, how did you get into 'the business?' -- If you don't mind me asking..."
She shifts weight in her chair and leans slightly on the armrest toward Kaine.

"Same way that most other people did. Either really needed money, and tried to get a job. Or, ended up owe'n the Boss money, so you work for him to pay it off. Once you start, you can't really stop though." he replied as he took another drink. "Territory I live in, wasn't hard to get caught up in the whole scene."

Skuld took in what Kaine said and analyzed the logic. It made sense.
"I guess my reason would be, 'I need the money.' Most of my studies require ... hard to get resources to complete. Otherwise, I wouldn't get very far in them. Also, I have an interrest in antiquities, as you probably surmised. Let's face it. Such hobbies can get very expensive."
Skuld inclines her her slightly, "What would you want to do, if you had the choice?"

Kaine paused and looked at his glass a moment. "To be honest...I'd rather live in the country than this garbage dump."" he replied. "Seen just about all there is to see in this city. Ninety-five percent of it is just plain filth."

Skuld focused on that thought a moment.

Kaine smiled a bit. "I mean someplace where I'd actually have a yard. Clean air. No crowds. Maybe a nice place to hunt. I used to live in a more rural area when I was a kid. Family moved here for my dad's new job. Been here ever since."

"Well...there is Central Park for one. So I can still get at least some bit of trees and grass. And..." he said, then paused a moment. "...I suppose the biggest one would be my little girl at home."

"She's five." Kaine said, moving to pull his wallet out again. He opened it and pulled out a small photo and held it out to her. A little blonde haired girl in a gray hoodie and pink skirt stood next to a large tree in the park with her arms wrapped around it.
