Amico glanced up at Kiami's eager ideal of Lucid coming along with them, though he wanted to make sure of something before they went rushing off into the dead of night. "Lucid can you still actually do your job as a sweeper or are your teaching lessons keep your skills under a rusty bucket?" Amico asked of course because he wasn't about to invite anyone into the mission that wasn't truly ready, he was one of the hunter breeds which meant he had given up training fully as a sweeper, so he truly did need someone that was still very good at the job. He had always complied a list of people he wanted on the mission, it was a class S mission, because of the missing members, but he would leave that little bit out. That's another reason that the Council allowed him to pull members from every branch, he wasn't a first timer on a sweeping mission.

However there was a need to know what was causing all the problems so researchers would come into handy if he could keep them from wondering off. He rolled his eyes at the thought of them running off like they normally do, sweepers could keep the researchers safe though, that was their job and lastly hunters like him would be able to deal with anything if a outside source was affecting the shrine. It was rare for the three classes to come together, it was normal for sweepers and researchers, but hunters were a different story, they didn't cling to anyone and hunted down other humans at times so sweepers were always careful to watch their backs.

Alexander released the illusion he was currently holding. To most he would suddenly appear sitting next to Victoria. "Hey tori!" He said excitedly to her. He loved messing with peoples heads like that. It was his anti-drug i suppose. "I suppose you already saw me though huh, X-Ray?" The name he gave Leo. He gave off an almost glinting grin. "I can never get past you huh?" He said jokingly as he said most things. "Anyways how are you Tori?" He asked politely still showing off his bright teeth. Tori was the one person he really understood here. She was cold and distant. He could get that. He wont ask why but he understands the reaction. He was once like that too. Now, hes learned to look past the bad. He acts as he does on the outside but, on the inside he is cold and deppressed. His illusions may make everyone else happy when he wants but he can never do the same for himself. Hes the only one who truly has to see the horror that life brings. Him and I suppose Leo.

He put his arm around Tori's shoulders looking for a reaction as he laid back and propped his leg on the other.

The inner cave to the fast kingdom which lay below; appeared hidden behind the large white moon floors which grew here because of the astral power which once flourished here for whatever reason. Inside a good twenty miles down with a newly drilled tunnel thanks to the prior research team, a clicking of footsteps strolled down the tunnel easily and almost silently. The rhythmic drips of water fell into their small puddles stopped for a moment and then resumed as the footsteps continued down the path.

A crashing sound was heard as a tall man kicked a piece of metal which had once been a machine for the research group. He bent down and picked up a piece of white clothing which most likely had been a piece of larger clothing, the proof of course was the blood which drooled from the back side of it onto the ground. The man sniffed the piece of clothing and snorted, throwing it back onto the ground. Whatever did this had done it some time ago and the blood wasn’t fresh, he had no desire to drink blood that wasn’t fresh. He raised himself up as a breeze from the surface below swiftly into the tunnel and wrapped itself around him and then vanished, a wicked smile grew across his lips. Someone was coming.

As the footsteps made it to the end of the tunnel, a small boy from one of the local villages looked in awe up at the giant shrine which was craved straight into the back of the giant limestone cave, some of it broke apart, while pieces of the shrine laid on the ground from earthquakes since its prime. The boy took a step forward and his foot caught something and he fell over it, as he looked back at what his foot had caught, his awe and disgust with himself for falling turned to terror, a arm torn away from its body laid there, teeth marks all across it and the boy screamed pushing it away with his feet and attempted to run, but a sudden wind caught him and pushed him against one of the nearby walls, keeping him there. The boy attempted to scream, but the air was to powerful and sucked the air from his lungs, it wasn’t long before the tall man appeared in front of him. The boy attempted to reach out and ask for help from the man, but the man’s eyes just laughed at him, as a smirk spread itself across the man’s face, half concealed by long dark purple hair. “Do you want to be save child?” The man asked with that wicked smile across his face. The boy still could not speak and shook his head as a response. The man laughed and pulled back a arm from under large amounts of clothes and robes, and flicked a finger at the boy, a whistle was hard and the small boys head was smashed against the wall of the cave, blood splashing up against it, and the wind that had held the boy released the dead limp body and it fell to the ground. The man smiled, newly shown fangs at the corner of his mouths as he took a step toward the boy. “I saved you from the pain.” He spoke to himself and let out a howl of laughter.

Lucid watched as Kiami walked up to him and as usual was excited about something. Hearing what she had to say, it was obvious to him that Amico had asked her to go on a mission. It was strange though, that somebody with a past like his would go on a group mission. Hearing Kiami talk about going on a mission together, it was something that he would enjoy. "Slow down a little there Kiami. You're always such an eager student. I didn't really know of any missions. Though, there is a good chance Kiami." He smiled a bit as his eyes and attention turned to Amico.

"Ah. Amico, it's good to see you again, that really wasn't the hello I'd expect. Though, from you, it's an improvement. Anyways, a mission is something I could use about now. Teaching really isn't all that exciting of a profession. Now, don't worry about my skills Amico. I spent too much time on my skills to let them get rusty. Besides, I guess since you want me on this mission, I can forget about you never attending my class. Though, I can't say I blame you, teaching is not something I'm good at." He chuckled a bit at his own comment as his eyes never looked away from him.

((Oh, by the way, it's seeker not sweeper. Just saying. XP))

((It was a long night razz ))

Amico glanced at Lucid and smirked a bit. It was true Lucid was pretty bad at teaching, but most were. He grabbed his shirt and the folder, flipping the shirt around him and began to button it up. As soon as he had finished he threw the folder at Lucid. "There is a list in there for people to join the mission, its a rather long, Prof. Draqx, yourself and Kiama, me, Tori Ringley, Alexander Rubido Orion, and Leonardo Raelin De La Viena, since your a teacher you have access to the intercom system." He spoke like he normally would to people that he was in a mission. Though by now he was sure that Lucid would have noted that all these people were a high class level and every field of the school, he knew Lucid wasn't stupid. "Oh and come completely compared, that means weapons and armor." He said, most times people of the Syndicate didn't wear armor like soldiers, but at a S level he wasn't about to throw anything to the wind.

He sighed a little, and looked at Lucid with a straight face, he was sure that Kiami might miss this reaction, but it was one of worry and people like Amico didn't show worry. However he wanted Lucid to understand it, the paper might say A class, but it was beyond that, it was hard for just a A class mission to take out a whole research team, even worse there was no signs of the creatures that did it.

The expression on Tori's face was obvious for once. It wasn't a blank mask at the moment. Instead, if you were to look closely, you would see her jaw tense, her temple throb in annoyance, and her hands clench at her sides. If there was one thing that REALLY set her off, besides her name, it was being touched. She had frozen guys for less... The fact that Alexander seemed so calm about the whole ordeal was only pissing her off even more, and before she could do anything irrational, she got up from the bench, his arm falling from her shoulders.

The expression on her face was classic. It just screamed 'don't EVER touch me.' "I'm fine, thanks..." She spoke a bit tightly. It wasn't that she hated human contact all together, it was just that she hated being touched without permission. Tori was very reserved... Touching would eventually lead to feelings, and feelings would lead to disappointment. And disappointment was not something that Tori felt like experiencing again. Her chocolate eyes shifted to meet Taro's, and she granted him a little nod. "It was nice talking to you, Taro, I'll see you around." When her gaze met Alexander's, it was a little tense, but she forced herself to smile anyway. "...Alex.." She acknowledged him before leaving the area completely.

It took a lot to set her off, but not very much to make her uncomfortable. He had just sat down like they were old buddies and assumed it was okay to put his arm around her. Had he not heard of her reputation? Could he not feel the drastic drop in temperature? A sigh escaped her lips, a puff of mist visible when it happened. Training... Yes, she needed more training. Her hands were still clenched, though she hadn't seemed to realize this very obvious fact. "Training..." She repeated in her head over and over again, practically slamming her finger into the elevator buttons, putting in her personal code. Training was something that would relieve her tension... At least she hoped. She was grinding her teeth, and once she realized this she stopped.

Taking a deep breath, she entered the elevator and gave her destination. "Victoria, you should be in class.." The elevator's voice interupted her, and Tori was almost sent over the edge, brown eyes snapping up to the source of the annoying woman's voice, her body literally trembling with her anger. "...Just do it!" If she hadn't known any better, and the elevator's voice hadn't been robotic, she would've sworn she could hear the woman trembling. Almost immediately the elevator lurched, and Tori leaned against the railing as she had only moments before, the fingers on her right hand drumming against it so hard, she could've broken a bone.

(((Christian, Rainy, you guys are pretty good buzz kills.)))

Taro was suddenly feeling very uncomfortable because of all the people there. He looked around uneasily. They were all his juniors and most of them were immature (Alexander and Leo). He looked at them from the corner of his eyes with contempt for intruding so rudely on their conversation.

Taro tucked the rag in his pocket but it was still showing clearly. He stood up with a grunt, using his sword as a cane to help him. With a sudden and nearly invisible movement of his arm he hacked into the tree which he had been leaning on. The steel of the okatana sliced into wood with great momentum, stopping near the middle of tree eventually. This may have been because it wasn't a part of Taro's will to hack the tree down. He looked at the two young men, an expressionless look on his face. With another quick movement he took the sword and sheathed it at his waist, leaving a cut in the tree a fraction of an inch deep.

"Children," Taro nodded to them and walked away, not looking back. He exited into the elevator and headed off to his next destination. He was supposed to be meeting with an official to receive his next mission. He knew if he went now he would be early but it was better than being stuck talking to a bunch of kids. The elevator closed and headed down, it got colder. Round circles with numbers in them above the door glowed to show what level they were on now. Oddly, the numbers started at one and kept going up, even though the elevator was descending. That was because this base was built into the ground. It was as big as a skyscraper but maybe the architects failed to noticed that skyscrapers reach to heaven not hell.

Ding.

The doors split open and Taro walked out. Here the hum from the heating ducts made it impossible to have silence but they did not work to full effect because it was still pretty cool. The room was a long hall with tiles on the floor, benches touching the walls and a few plants beside them. Taro kept on walking. Every now and then in the walls there were closed doors. At the end of hall there was a small office box. It had plexiglass as a window with small air holes so you could hear people when they spoke. At the bottom of the glass it was pretty much open so items could be swapped. The office was empty.

Alex smiled a warm smile as she walked away. He slowly walked after her. He had nothing better to do. This might inspire some sparring. He created his illusions once more and got in the elevator before she had. He hid in the corner and snickered a little to himself as he materialized slowly in front of her. "I figured you might wanna release some anger." he said blankly. His face lit up with another grin. "You can freeze me if you want but we both know it wont work." He said calmly but warmly. He knew he had her cornered on the matter. If he had wanted to he could send her into a world void of all senses. He could make her lose herself in all that is nothing. "So try if you want but you will find your choice badly made." he said a little bit grimly. He brightened up shortly after as he awaited her reaction.

Lucid caught the folder and opened it up while holding it like an open book. His eyes glanced over the contents of the folder looking for things that stuck out. A slight smile was all Lucid could do as he saw that this mission wasn't a normal one. With the amount of high class people, this was really gonna be a challange. Even though it clearly said A class, he knew that this was of a higher class even. "Oh, quite the list there, it's good that I'm not gonna be the only teacher." He looked back to Amico and nodded slightly. "I understand that, being prepared is always important." He could tell that this mission was something that even Amico would be worried about. In fact, for himself, he may never show it, but it would be quite troublesome.

"Well, seems like the three of us know so far, so that's a start. I'll have to go and make an announcement for the rest. It's probably best if we find a meeting spot. The best place really would be the fountain square. Plus, it'll give everyone some fresh air."

For young Haruna, another day, was just another god forsaken, worthless day in her pathetically empty life. Armed with only a backpack filled with stuff which she doesn't need, and a body that didn't even feel like it was really her. Dieing was not the greatest thing to happen to her, neither was finding out she was just like her favorite cards, attached to an object which wasn't living, sure it kept her alive but if this was life, she'd rather take death, the only problem with that is if she tried to kill herself, she couldn't do it because her body was more of a doll made of flesh being controlled by a spirit, then a human with blood running through them.

Her organs had probably rotted away long ago, only her bones remained, as she guessed since whenever she was injured she shed not a single drop of blood. She couldn't remember any of that stuff, what joy it would be to eat, close your eyes and drift off to what people called dreams, feel pain when you cut yourself, feel the heartbeat in your chest, the rising and falling of it from your breaths. Things she did once before but had no memory of ever doing it. She envied those who were living, to be able to feel things she couldn't, it angered her, the only thing he had left were her emotions, but even they didn't feel like they were hers anymore.

Haruna had spent many years wandering around, trying to discover a way for her to live. She left Japan and traveled through China, into Mongolia, and then through Siberia, into Russia. She had to admit one thing to being dead, she never needed to stop and rest, she could travel farther and faster then any human, that's how she believed she made it all those miles in but a few years. Her destination was some place called Germany, a while back she met some strange people who seemed to show interest in her, but she didn't hang around long enough to find out about them. She asked people on her travels and they always said, head west, reach Germany, so that is what she did.

The only problem with wandering, is that you get lost. Haruna came to a stop and just fell to her knees and punched the earth with her small hand and did it several times till her small knuckles started to show signs of injury and then she stopped. She brought both her hands to her chest and clenched them as tightly as she could as her anger swelled up from inside her shell of a body. She screamed as loudly as she could which went off for quite a distance in all directions across the snow covered wasteland around her as she used both hands to start beating the ground, trying to get rid of the anger which had built up. She spent almost 30 minutes lost in her rage, or perhaps it might have been longer, she never could keep track of time. Calming down a little she sighed. "Why does it have to be so empty, it's so alone here, like... me, probably why my this place brings me such anger." Sitting down she slowly removed her backpack and pulled out a long roll of bandage wrap, they didn't do any good, her body healed on its own, regardless of the wounds she was inflicted, but this was one of her strange ways she tried to feel 'human'. After wrapping her hands and tightening them off she placed the wrap back in her pack and pulled out a small bamboo tube and removed the lid and pulled out a map. Scratching her head she tried to figure out where she was going, or at least where she was. Messing her hair in frustration she started to look around for anything that could be used as a landmark. All she was, was tundra, tundra, and more tundra, some mountains in the distance, and sparse tree's all over the place, every bit of it worthless.

Recalling what her sensei had instructed her about survival she looked up at the sky to see where the sun was. As she stared at the sky she fell over and just laid there in the snow, oblivious to what other's would find cold, wearing nothing but a thin cloth of a 'ninja'. A sort of, strange peace came over her as she just looked up at the sky, normally it was cloudy, but today it was rather bright as the sun shawn down at the land below. She thought it was beautiful but if she was alive she'd be dead, frozen as a Popsicle. "Remember, if you know where you are going, but yet are lost, look to the sun, using the direction it rises and sets, you can determine west and east, from that, north and south." That was what she recalled and for the next few hours she remained where she was. Just watching the sun slowly, inch it's way across the sky and then with a rather calm smile she got up and pointed. "So it's that way I go!" Haruna was quickly stopped in her tracks because she in fact had not gotten up, nor pointed, she didn't even speak.

She had remained in place for too long, although not living, her body was still made of flesh, and it had frozen over from lack of movement! Haruna tried to move her hands, her legs, anything at all but no movement was the response that she got. Most people would start freaking out at this point, when this first happened to her, she freaked as well. She was however dead, so didn't have to worry about it happening again, the only problem that faced her was how she would get herself moving and unfrozen.

((for note of reference, my character is in Siberia, she is no where near where anyone is ninja I'll get to where you are at some point, after I get unfrozen xd ))

Amico nodded at Lucid, he wasn't one to talk to much to be honest and people didn't really mind that about him. He glanced up at some of the lights in the roof. "I will be up in a moment or so Lucid, I need to seal another reserve power source." He said rather slowly as though he was thinking about something. He smiled at Lucid and Kiami and pointed a finger at Lucid. "Don't go flirting with your students now, though you two make a cute couple." He said slowly, of course this was Amico's way of joking, but it was a rare sight so he took in the laugh with full enjoyment. After all, he needed a good reason to laugh. Plus it would be funny to see Lucid turn red.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 13, 2008 3:37 pm

"Do not test my patience..." Tori's words were bitten at the end, sharp and meaningful. She didn't turn to face him, but her eyes flashed with raw power, fury, and restrain. "I respect your power, though you should definately not underestimate mine." Her words rang true. Although she didn't look like much, Tori was indeed powerful. She had no desire to be classified as an A, and so she had remained in the B category. "I suggest you keep your hands and your tongue to yourself." His hands because she didn't like to be touched, and his tongue because if he kept speaking to her that way, she wouldn't hold back anymore.

The elevator announced its arrival with a ding, and Tori was more than grateful to see the doors slide open and the training arena come into sight. She barely even noticed Kiami, Lucid, and Amico standing there, mostly because of her irritation. Again the room cooled to a temperature fit for shivering, and she all but stormed out of the elevator and into the room. She could still feel Alexander's presence, following her, and her eyes narrowed into small slits.

In the blink of an eye, she slashed her useful arm through the air, bringing forth an extremely sharp blade, which she poised at his throat when she spun on her heel. "Stop... Following me." Her tone was harsh, her eyes still narrowed, her face twisted in a scowl. "I swear Alexander... Stop pushing my buttons if you really wish to keep your limbs.."

Lucid let out a slight chuckle at Amico's comment. "It's nice to see you in such an enjoyable mood for once. You don't need to worry about flirting with Kiami, she's not actually my student. I only want to help her with her water skills. Besides, you're one of my students, so, I dunno if I could keep myself from flirting with you." He said with a slight smirk as he headed off toward the elevator once again. "See ya." Entering the elevator once again he rode up to the school level once again.

Once the elevator stopped, he walked out and slowly down the hallway toward the main office. That was where the intercom was. His eyes were paying attention to the folder in his hands. This was really going to be an interesting mission. As he reached the office he walked inside and asked the secretary for access to the intercom. Switching it on, he looked down at the list. "Would the following list of students and teacher please report to the fountain square. Prof. Draqx, Tori Ringley, Alexander Rubido Orion, and Leonardo Raelin De La Viena. Thank you." Switching off the intercom he walked out of the office and back toward the fountain square.

Draqx heard the announcement and nodded to himself and noted who was called, seemed like a large group, and the composition was slightly ominious. Draqx made a note to upgrade his supply request from his standard A grade package to something with more oomph.

Draqx got up and started to make his way to the meeting place, using his link through his electronic devices on his person to start the upgrading process, he thought it might be as bad as it might be, an airdrop in location might be a more ideal solution.

"s**t, if I can't get out of this, I'm going to spend the rest of my life here, god knows how long that will be!" Haruna thought as she tried to focus and think of a way from becoming the next frozen mummy to be discovered thousands of years later. "Keep calm, cool head, that's what's Sensei always said, now if I could just!" Haruna focused on her right arm and put as much force as she could to move it, she focused everything in trying to either move her arm or close her hand, something to break a little of the ice which was starting build a very thin coat on her. A small crunch made her feel some relief as her fingers slowly moved, free from their icy prison which was starting to grow on the rest of her body. As the temperature of it continued to drop, other areas were starting to get thicker, if she couldn't get free probably within the next hour she'd be trapped forever.

Little by little, she worked on trying to get her right arm moving, with her hand free she was slowly opening and closing it, trying to pull the skin and hope the motion would loosen, maybe even weaken the thickening ice. Thirty minutes passed and she wasn't sure of the progress she had made. Her left side was covered in ice, the right which she had been working on was also starting to thicken. taking a chance she tried to move her arm with all her might towards her hip. It moved about and inch before it stopped, Haruna would have smiled if her face wasn't frozen. "Yes, that's a great start!" She thought as she focused herself and tried it again. Inch, by inch, her arm slowly made it down to a small container on her hip. The process was difficult and her time was running out, with one last attempt her hand touched the container and she quickly began to focus.

Seconds seemed like years as she put a little pressure on the container and spoke in her mind. "Weapon of the Samurai, Hitagiro release!" One of the cards, which were inside the container suddenly went blank as a small wisp slowly rose from it, and darted out into the air above Haruna. The wisp started to grow and took on the form of a long Samurai's katana which slowly floated up and then over to where it was hovering over Haruna's body, blade pointed down. It waited a moment and then suddenly it fell straight down, the ice that covered her chest was cracked the instant the blade struck. Not only did it go through the ice, it went straight through Haruna's body and into the ground. Haruna didn't wince, she felt nothing, but she knew that was going to leave a mark. As the ice started to shatter across her body, she felt her ability to move coming back.

Although the feeling of movement made her happy she knew something was not right. What had happened to her was no accident of her's, after all the ice was actually forming on her body, where she could see it. Reaching her hand up to the hilt of the Katana, she pulled it up so that it was out of the ground, rolled her body over to the right, and then pulled it out. She had used quite a bit of power to break free from the ice tomb which almost took her and she was feeling it. She tried to take a few moments to regain herself and recover her movement when something started to shake the ground, or maybe the snow, she couldn't tell through touch, she did however see that her vision was being shaken up and down. Unsure of what was going on she grabbed hold of the Katana's hilt with her left hand and swung it as heard as she could in a 360 degree arc around her hoping to chase anything near her away.
