Shade looked at her, raising an eyebrow slightly. "If you're speaking of Antony, he has at least two girlfriends," he said mildly. He wasn't stupid, and he was the one that the credit card reports went to. He seriously doubted Antony went to a fru fru cafe and to see Twilight with Iggy, especially when the kid came back reeking of perfume.
"If you're speaking of Iggy, he's not... comprehensive enough to think of such things." Which, in other words, was saying the kid was as dense as steel when it came to sex. "And remember, there are children here." In other words, think it, don't say it. It was ironic how prudish he had become since his days as an assassin.
"Why don't we sit over there and wait for our hot chocolate first, everyone?" he asked, pointing to the benches that Iggy had mentioned. "Then we'll walk after we're done."

Carlisle patted the other boy's shoulder in a commiserating fashion. He might not have an older sister, but he did have Shigeo, whose idea of fun was bouncing balls off the top of Carlisle's head. "Your eyes glowed," he said by way of acknowledging Casca's comment. "Are they supposed to do that?"

Ginger grinned, taking Ignacio's hand as it was offered. As they set off towards the hot-chocolate stand, the little girl pointed forward. "For hot choc'late!" she exclaimed, finishing off Iggy's sentence. Right now, she couldn't have been happier unless she was jumping off of something.
Zemel, seeing that the older two boys were busy talking, looked around. He saw his sister walking off, and after hearing what the big teacher-guy said, he ran over to her, taking her hand as he caught up. "Hot choc'late." he said, nodding in agreement with his sister.
Nataya shrugged. "I suppose; it depends on how you view the situation." she said, smiling slightly. She then nodded. "Yes, they are shy. Very." She then held her hand out to the little boy, standing back up. "C'mon, let's go get some hot-chocolate."

Joshua smiled and took her hand. "Hot chocate good!" He told Nataya happily. "Mommy said could invite frinds to house. You're frind. So you come! Zem'l and Ginger too. May-bee we watch movie?"
The small boy already had a movie in mind. Prince Caspian, his favorite. "Abot a prince.. and cheens too! And a big lin!" He paused. "Like rat best."

Nataya smiled, nodding once. "I'll have to ask Momma, but I'm sure we'll be able to come." she said, her tone cheerful. "A movie would be fine. It sounds like a fun movie." She, she only understood half of what the little one was saying, but from what she gathered, it sounded interesting.

Joshua knew Nattie's Mommy would say yes, it was the rule. Joshua smiled up at her. He was glad she liked the movie. "We play games! I clean room, you come in!" His Mommy always told him to have a clean room before inviting friends. He guessed this was another mommy rule. All mommies had them.
"You like kitties? I have kitties. They purr. They watch movies too and eat pop-corn!"

Casca looked grateful for the sympathy; he was scratching the back of his head, still looking relieved that Mimi had gone off in a different direction. "Yeah," he said, happy for the topic change. "When I wake up; sometimes when I'm mad -- not that I like to get mad a lot, right?" (It was annoying, having a physical reveal that you were mad.) "Genetic."
Shade's words had barely impacted on Mia as she rocked back and forth, slowly going from the balls of her feet to the heels, calf-lifts. She looked at him with her startlingly blue eyes, which were also devoid of having seemingly understood. Then she said: "It was the blonde, and are there?" quite curiously. "I just see a bunch of cabbage freaks."
Then she spun on her heel to go and get some hot chocolate.

Ignacio had lead his little train to the stand and encouraged Ginger and Zemel to stand just off to the side as he ordered the necessary hot chocolates. Then he handed over a couple bills to cover it, moving fast before Shade or Antony could beat him to the punch. As soon as the first cup was handed to him, he took it, checked the security of the lid, and popped the tab to allow for drinking. Then he crouched in front of Ginger again and handed it to her solemnly. "First one," he announced.
No one would have guessed from watching his behavior that he had heard every single comment that passed between the adults - from Mia's speculations to the news of Antony's romances to Shade's comments on his lack of girl-interest.

Antony hesitated, his tray of hot chocolate in his hands as he caught sight of the dark, dangerous look on Shade's face. He went forward, though, leaning down and offering the others the cocoa. "Be careful, it's hot," he told them calmly.
Then, when they were gone, he stood and headed for his father, stopping next to him. "Is there a problem?" he asked softly.
Shade shook it off, his expression clearing as if the dark look had never been there before. "Course there is," he said, taking his son's cocoa. "You gave it all away without saving me one."

Ginger smiled brightly, taking the hot beverage, managing it with both hands. "Thank you!" she said, giggling. Not only was it hot chocolate, it was the first one! That meant she won some type of who-got-the-first-one-game, right? Right. She took a drink, doing her best not to spill any.
"Thank you, mister." Zemel said as he recieved the hot chocolate, taking a long drink of it and promptly sputtering. It was hot! Just because that had been stated didn't mean he'd actually believed it. "Owwies...." he said, fanning his burned tongue.
Nataya grinned, sipping on her hot cocoa. Nothing like a hot drink to warm you up on a cold winter night. She looked down to Josh, smiling. "Do you like hot chocolate?" she asked, still sipping on her own carefully.

Joshua smiled and nodded. "Mommy makes hot chocolate with march yellows and candy canes! Mommy's is the best!" He said."Do you like color? Color is fun! Mommy gave me clayons."

Iggy grinned as he cupped his own hot chocolate in bare hands. "Do you have a really big box of 'em, Joshua?" he asked. "My dad tried to give me some when I was your age but I kept eatin' them."

"Ah," said Carlisle, also understanding genetics and not liking to get mad. He always felt... weird, when he was mad. So he liked to calm down as fast as he could. "Apparently," he continued, "I have a halo. I guess it must be genetic or something, too. I can't see it, though."
Pausing for a moment, he glanced after Mia. Weird, he thought; normally only people who wanted help would make him feel like that. But he didn't want to go find out what the heck was wrong with someone like that, so he stayed put and instead asked Casca, "Do I really have a halo?" He waved a hand over his head, trying to see if the thing could be felt. (It couldn't.)

Thank God, he didn't say anything about Mia.
At first Casca had thought it was maybe the reflected light from the displays, but he looked over at Carlisle with a critical eye. "Yeah," he confirmed, "you have a halo." He deadpanned, "Just like the prettiest little angel," but then he grinned, obviously teasing. "Don't worry about it; hey, I have claws and a tail and wings, right? Who cares?"
Seriously, they were all kind of bizarre looking. Frankly, Cascati was more envious of Carlisle's hair: he'd always been dissatisfied that his was a big mess of curls that couldn't be tamed even through copious use of Pantene Curl Control, whereas Lisle had long, glossy locks that any girl would've loved. He was distracted momentarily by Iggy and the little kids, but attention went back to the boy next to him. "You really can't see it?"

Joshua's eyes widened, he'd never thought of eating crayons before. "Are they yummy?" He asked. He couldn't imagine crayons tasting good. Otherwise, you'd color with food. "You didn't like coloring?"
